SCHOOL MATTERS
School Standard Operation Procedures
(SOP)
• Absence during exams - an official medical
certificate (MC) is required.
• Absence on a school day – MC or letter from
parent/guardian.
• For early departure on a school day –
parent/guardian must be present to sign out the
child.
• Avoid taking child on trips during term time – (not a
valid reason) Principal’s approval is required.
• Frequent absences & late-coming – school will
send out an advisory letter.

Update on attendance-taking
• Teachers will record daily attendance
using School Cockpit mobile phone
App.
• Parents/Guardians will receive a
phone message at 8.30am if child is
absent.
Homework Policy for P5-P6

45 mins for Mother Tongue
1 h and 15 mins for English, Maths and

SA Revisions
Revision will start 1 month prior to SA.
Minimum of 1 full paper per subject per week before
the examination.
But not more than 2 papers per day.
School holidays
(Mar, Jun and Sep holidays)*
Maximum 4 hours
1 h for Mother Tongue
3 h for English, Maths and Science
Jun & Sep – 1 week or 10 hours worth of homework
Festive seasons
(CNY , Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya
Haji, Deepavali)*
Strictly no homework to be given
*Any other school holidays or festive holidays, such as Youth Day, Vesak Day, Labour Day etc.,
it is up to the discretion of the teachers to decide if learning time is necessary.

Class Expectations
• Preparation for lessons
– Pupils are required to check their pupil diary and
timetable everyday to bring the necessary
materials and complete the assigned work daily.
• Homework Submission
– Pupils who consistently fail to submit their
homework will be required to stay behind to
complete their work. Parents will be informed in
such an event.

• Absence from School
– Pupils who were absent from school are expected
to take the initiative to catch up on their school
work with the aid of peers and teachers.
• Revision
– Revision is to be done consistently with the aid of
revision materials provided. Expect regular
revision tests.
