HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Last week we acknowledged the 70th birthday of PETER MILLER. Peter, together with his wife Astrid have been long time faithful parishioners. We regularly see them at Saturday vigil Mass. Both have given so much time looking after the lawns and gardens around the church, making sure they are nice and tidy. Peter is also active as sacristan and collector during Mass.

We also celebrated the birthday of BERYL BARNFIELD who quietly celebrated her 70th last Sunday. Beryl is a long time member of our parish. Her contribution to the parish is immeasurable, from being a counter to an after school religious class’ teacher, from the bereavement group to the women’s group, handing out newsletters and helping out with a cuppa whenever needed .

Though they will not be able to celebrate as they wish, we pray that God will keep them safe and healthy.

REST IN PEACE

This week we say our farewell to THEODORE CABRERA. Teddy went home to God peacefully on Friday, 14 August 2020. His family sent this lovely note:

Teddy is a dear son to Norma and late Ponciano Cabrera, loving husband of Jennifer, adoring father of Ella, best friend of his brothers and sister, supportive uncle to his nephews and source of strength of the family. He brings joy every time he walks into the room. He gave his unconditional love to all dear to him. He is now reunited with his father and together they will watch over their dear ones from above.

LORETA BAGON-RANAS is dear sister of Rodrigo Bagon. On Sunday,16 August

2020, Loreta passed away peacefully in the Philippines. Below is Rod’s lovely tribute to Loreta: Loreta is the youngest amongst the girl in the family, my quiet and loving sister. Have a blessed journey and rest comfortably, my little sister in the arms of the good shep-herd. See you and say ‘Hello’ for me to mum and dad

LETICIA CANDIDO, beloved mother of Dante Candido, passed away on Wednesday 14 August 2020 in another part of Mel-bourne. Both Rodrigo and Dante are mem-bers of the Philippino Choir.

Together with the families, we pray for their souls. We also pray for all those left behind, that they will find some measure of consolation from the love of people around them and strength during this time of grieving

COMBINED CHURCHES RAFFLE TICKETS The Combined Churches Raffle tickets are in the last week of sales. Should you wish to buy tickets, please give us a ring and leave a message on the answering machine and we will organize tickets for you. All papers will be final-ized on 30th August. Therefore, we have two more weeks remaining to sell the unsold tickets. As we have indicated earlier Raffle will be drawn on the 26 SEPTEMBER.
