SACRAMENTAL PREP
We have preparation programs for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation, and Marriage. Adults seeking Baptism or full communion with the Catholic Church are invited to explore the practices and beliefs of the Church through our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), and children age 8yrs and above through RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation of Children. Contact the parish office for information on fall classes.

Before Confession it is essential to make a good examination of conscience. This will help you not only bring to mind your sins and shortcomings but with the help of the Holy Spirit will strengthen your conscience to help you walk closer with Our Lord.
To make an examination:
Set aside quiet time for reflection.
Pray to the Holy Spirit, asking for help to prepare for Confession.
Reflect on the Ten Commandment and how they pertain to your life.
Examination of Conscience booklets are available in the vestibule of the Church for your convenience.

Cursillo Retreat Weekend
Get to know Jesus in a more personal way and live your Faith more deeply with a Cursillo Weekend Retreat. Celebrate daily prayer, Holy Eucharist, joyful fellowship and wonderful meals in a comfortable settings. The Cursillo retreats are held at St Rita’s Retreat Center in Gold Hill, Oregon. The cost is $150 and applications need to be received by 30 days prior to the scheduled retreat weekend.

SVdP Food Items Need
SVdP is in need of the following non-perishable food items to be included in the distribution of emergency food baskets to our community: canned fruit, spaghetti, canned meat (chicken and beef) and rice. Any additional food donations are always appreciated.

Memorial Service for Aborted Children
The 4th Annual National Day of
Remembrance for Aborted Children will be held at churches, gravesite, and memorial sites nationwide on Saturday, September 10
th. This year
St. Paul Church has the honor of hosting this solemn event in the parish courtyard beginning with a Rosary at 12:30 pm, a Communion Service at 1:00 pm including guest speakers followed by a closing with a brief reception at 2:00 pm.

Youth Program Registration
Registration for Religious Education and Youth Group for 2016-2017 has begun. St. Paul youth program is available for all parish youth. You may pick up a registration form in the parish office, the vestibule of the church or on our parish website www.saintpaulparish.com Completed forms and registration fees can be returned by mail, dropped off in the Parish office or placed in an offertory basket. Our first Youth Group meeting is September 18
th. Classes for grades
K-5 will begin on October 9th

Time to Celebrate
The annual St. Paul Celebration is Sunday, September 18
th. Kickoff
starts at 11:30 am and the party continues until 1:30 pm. There will be food and lots of fun activities for all.

Canonization of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Today, September 4th
, blessed Teresa of Calcutta will be canonized. Masses, prayer vigils, exhibitions and even a musical are just some of the many events that have taken place in Rome leading up to her canonization.
Through the magic of television you too may be a part of the celebration. EWTN will provide viewing of Mother Teresa’s canonization mass Sunday at 1:00 am, 8:30 am, 7:00 pm and 9:00pm (pacific time).
If you don’t have access to the cable channel EWTN, you may be able to stream it from their website at www.EWTN.com
Bill Barr Memorial Golf Classic
Annual SVdP Golf Classic is scheduled for September 9
th at
Springfield Golf Club. This Golf tournament is to benefit children in need within our community.
