Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 1:14-20.

D espués que Juan fue arrestado, Jesús se dirigió a Galilea. Allí proclama-

ba la Buena Noticia de Dios, diciendo:

"El tiempo se ha cumplido: el Reino de Dios está cerca. Conviértanse y crean

en la Buena Noticia".

Mientras iba por la orilla del mar de Galilea, vio a Simón y a su hermano An-

drés, que echaban las redes en el agua, porque eran pescadores.

Jesús les dijo: "Síganme, y yo los haré pescadores de hombres".

Inmediatamente, ellos dejaron sus redes y lo siguieron.

Y avanzando un poco, vio a Santiago, hijo de Zebedeo, y a su hermano Juan,

que estaban también en su barca arreglando las redes. En seguida los llamó,

y ellos, dejando en la barca a su padre Zebedeo con los jornaleros, lo siguieron.

A fter John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the Gospel

of God:

"This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and be-

lieve in the gospel."

As he passed by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew cast-

ing their nets into the sea; they were fishermen.

Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Then they abandoned their nets and followed him.

He walked along a little farther and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his

brother John. They too were in a boat mending their nets.

Then he called them. So they left their father Zebedee in the boat along with the

hired men and followed him.

vigil here in New York for all parishes of the archdi-

ocese to come together to commemorate the 45th

Anniversary of Roe V. Wade. St. Pope John Paul II

has said that “prayer is the most powerful force

in human history!” The prayer vigil will be at Saint

Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, January 21, 2018,

beginning with Holy Mass at 5:30pm, followed by

Adoration with music by the Sisters of life.

For those who could not be present at the March

for life in Washington D.C., this event offers a local

pilgrimage for the building up of the culture of life in

our nation. The event is open to all parishioners,

families, parish groups, the young and the young at

heart.
