STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT:

“Do you think I have come to give you peace on Earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.” -Luke 12:51

Living a stewardship lifestyle means stepping out of our comfort zone when needed. Many of us like to play it safe, not cause waves, stay in the middle of the road. In today’s world we are called to be informed and take a stance for life, marriage and religious liberty.

Hermana Ellen Marie Hijas de Santa Maria del Corazon de Jesus

C/ Navazarza 1y3 28260 Galapagar (Madrid), SPAIN

Our survey of Parishioners at St. Patrick and St. Paul was taken last weekend. The results have been compiled and are being studied. I will present the results next week and will announce final changes in our Mass times after we study the survey of parents of CCD students, at St. Patrick and St. Paul. Thanks to all who participated and shared your views. Pray that all of us will be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we collaborate for the sake of our parishes.

St. Paul School begins Wednesday, August 21 – four days away! Welcome back to students, faculty and staff (many of whom worked hard over the summer).

Special thanks to Dr. Scott Hahn, his staff, and our volunteers who helped with his presentation & luncheon Saturday morning. It was a great opportunity for us to listen, reflect and learn. Thanks be to God!!

SassaBrass, will play in St. Paul Church for half an hour before the 4:30 pm Mass, Saturday, August 24. Members of the quintet are Mark Galpin and Gary Kekel (trumpets), Sherry Ayers (French horn), Kirk Hofmeister (tuba), and Parishioner John Berthold (trombone). The music will include Baroque, Classical, and Religious selections. Come early to Mass for this inspirational music. With love, prayers, and gratitude,

Father Bob Edwards

Dear Friends,

…let us…persevere in running the race …keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus,

the leader and perfecter of faith. - Hebrews 12:1-2

Star Trax 2019! I saw several parishioners at the 5k run on Saturday, August 3. Perseverance got them to the finish line. Perseverance helps us pursue the finish line of eternal life. We pray for perseverance since we never know what lies ahead of us. It’s good to remind ourselves of the “cloud of witnesses,” the saints, who pray for us and urge us on. It’s essential that we keep our “eyes fixed on Jesus” who leads us over the course. Lord, perfect us in faith.

Thank you, Deacon Larry, for preaching this weekend instead of next weekend when you will be away on retreat. We pray that your retreat will be a great experience.

Sister Ellen Marie Schlueter, daughter of Fritz and Lori Schlueter, of St. Paul Parish, will make First Vows as a Daughter of Mary of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on August 28, at the motherhouse in Galapagar, Spain. She will join 16 other novices making First Vows and an additional five sisters professing Perpetual Vows. Congratulations to all, especially Sister Ellen Marie, and to her parents and family for supporting her vocation. We continue to pray for her and all those pursuing their vocations. You may send a card to her at the address below. (take the card to the Post Office for the required overseas postage.)
