    Advent and Christmas

Our Christmas trees and decorations are now up in both St Peter's and Blessed Mary (thank you to all

those who have helped) and you would be welcome to come to spend some time as we all prepare for a

simpler more reflective Christmas this year.

Our prayer is that from the message of Christmas all would comfort and joy in all the difficulties going on,

and so have find hope through the light of Christmas that shines in the darkness. Some of the normal

things we might do are not possible (Christmas Shoe Boxes and donations to help the homeless*) so St

Peter's and Blessed Mary have made special donations so that help will still be given.

As we look towards Christmas, if you are able to keep an eye out for anyone who is going to be on their

own, or perhaps make a special donation to the Food or Baby Bank, that would be wonderful and the

essence of the heart of Christmas.

    With prayers.

  • Meon Valley Baby Bank - £1,000 Donation on offer!

Our insurers Ecclesiastical Insurance are donating £1,000 to 10 charities each weekday for the period 7

to 22 December and as a Church, we are automatically eligible to enter the "competition". Individuals are

invited to nominate their chosen charity so the more people who nominate St Peter's, the greater the

chance of us receiving a donation.

If successful, the donation would go towards the cost of setting up the Meon Valley Baby Bank in

particular the acquisition of a shed for secure storage, and the costs associated with this.

All you have to do is to go to the following link:

    https://www.movementforgood.com/12days/index.php?cn=1128411&ct=church

and complete this where indicated. It has been pre-populated so will take you no more than a couple of

    minutes to complete.

Please feel free to pass this on to any family and friends who might also be happy to support us.

    Thank you

  • New Visual System

I am very pleased to announce, that as a result of a very kind donation, we have been able to install a

new visual system in St Peter's including a new projector and leaders 'foldback' screen. Once we are

fully back in church, this will really be of help for both our some normal and special services. It will also of

course be good for events needing a visual presentation.

Looking into 2021, we have initial plans to improve our audio/sound in various ways which is much

needed but is subject to raising the needed funds. In due course we will be able to give you more

information, but if you have any questions please do let me know. A huge thank you to Simon Harrison

and Paul Emmerson who are overseeing these projects.

  • The Chosen - Life of Jesus TV/You Tube Series

Who was the real Jesus that people met?

Would you like to look at the life of Jesus is a fresh way?

Would you like to meet the real Jesus as he was not as he is sometimes made out to be?

Why not try watching this great new TV series available via YouTube.

"The Chosen is a 2020 television drama based on the life of Jesus created. It is the first multi-

season series about the life of Christ, and season one was the highest crowd-funded TV series or

film project of all time. The series' creators stated that they had hoped to distinguish the new

series from previous portrayals of Jesus by crafting a multi-season, episode-based story. The

series portrays Jesus "through the eyes of those who met him". The first episode begins in AD

26 in Capernaum where we meet Sanhedrin member and Pharisee Nicodemus touring the region,

tax collector Matthew fishermen brothers Simon and Andrew, demon-possessed Mary

Magdalene and wandering craftsman Jesus. The final two seasons of the planned seven season

show are intended to chronicle his death and resurrection."
