Dear Parishioners, Thank you to all who responded so generously to the appeal for funding for our "Youth vs. Hunger" event to pack one hundred thousand meals for the hungry. I am truly humbled by the amazing donations that poured in last Sunday. May God bless all of you for your care for the less fortunate through-out the world. Please do consider volunteering to help pack the meals in April. This week is Catholic Schools Week. There are a number of fun events for the children in our school throughout the week. There is a special open house for prospective families that will take place on Monday morning. The school in-vites all families to enjoy donuts and coffee after Mass today in the adminis-trative building (located directly across from the church). Thanks to all who donated to the second collection last Sunday to support our parish school. I am very proud of the great things happening in our school community -- we have some very dedicated teachers and families who truly care about making Catholic education a priority in their lives. This Friday is First Friday. It is also the Feast of the Presentation -- or Can-dlemas. We will have the traditional blessing of candles at Mass. You may bring candles from home that you wish to be blessed. Saturday, February 3rd, is the memorial of Saint Blaise. Throats will be blessed following the 8:30am Mass. May God bless you!

St. John the Apostle Preschool: Fall 2018 Registration Preschool applications and infor-mation for the fall of 2018 are now available on the St. John the Apostle website (saintjohnleesburg.org) under “Education and Youth.” Registration information and applications can also be found on the wall next to the Pre-school Director’s Office in the Parish Center. St. John’s Preschool is the only Catholic Preschool in Loudoun County and enrolls students from eve-ry parish in the county.
Registration is open to all children. Families from other parishes may turn in applications beginning Monday, January 22. A child must be three or four by September 30, 2018 to enroll in the three or four year-old class. Padre Pio Prayer Group La Vergine Maria Immacolata Chapter has been approved by the Church to begin meeting at Saint Theresa. We will meet the first Friday of each month at 6pm in the Louis Room. Pilgrimage to Ireland and Scotland St. Theresa 2018 Annual Pilgrimage to Ireland and Scotland - Last Call. Wine and Theology Our next get together is Fri. February 9th from 7-10:30pm (last Friday be-fore Lent begins). This will be our re-scheduled topic: Living the Liturgical Year in our families. Thank you Sunil and Jennifer Tellis for hosting (conveniently located one house away from the rectory). We are excited to get together with other friends in our parish to enjoy this beautiful church season! W&T is a casual gathering to catch up with friends, meet new peo-ple, and enjoy each other's company. Children are welcome, but we also have babysitting references. Men's Bible Study The Men’s Bible Study group aims to develop a deeper and more complete understanding of the Word of God in Holy Scripture, and how it applies to the journey of faith in our daily lives. It also seeks to promote a spirit of fel-lowship and support in prayer among the men of our parish community. We started our Spring study on Tuesday,

Baptisms
Parents desiring Baptism for their child must attend a class, preferably before the child’s birth. The clas-ses are held the first Thursday of each month at 7:30pm in the Louis Martin Conference Room in the Administration Bldg. After you attend the class, you may schedule your child for the Sacrament of Bap-tism (Sundays 1:30pm).

2018 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal Begins! This month many of us will receive a mailing from Bishop Burbidge regard-ing the 2018 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal (BLA). The theme for the 2018 BLA is “Living in Faith~Giving in Gratitude.” After reflecting upon the many bless-ings that God has given you, please prayerfully consider making a pledge to this important appeal that funds many programs and ministries that serve the people in our diocese. To-gether, through the BLA, let us renew our personal commitment to the Lord’s work in our diocese.

The Rebuilding Program sponsored by the Diocese of Arlington Office for Family Life helps people of all faiths who are separated, divorced, or wid-owed and want to move on with their lives. The nine week program starts Sunday, February 25th and meets Sunday evenings 5:30 - 8:00 PM at the St. Martin De Porres Center in Alexandria. How to Register to be a Parishioner of St. Theresa Often, in the sacramental life of the Church, Catholic faithful will need to prove residency in a parish. Registra-tion with the parish office allows us to track your sacra-mental data and keep you connected with the life of the
church. In order to register, come to the parish office Monday – Friday 9:30am – 3:30pm to fill out a registration card. Yellow registration cards can also be obtained at all of the Church entrances – these can be mailed to the par-ish or given to an usher during a church liturgy.

Just small ways we help- recently we had a request from a mom who was recovering from cancer and needed a blender to help prepare foods for a special diet. She was in tears -happy ones to learn that she and her kids would have beds to sleep on. They had been sleeping on the floor.
