Let us be intent upon the life Christ offers us, Christ our Passover who has been sacrificed. Monday: Acts 2:14, 22-33; Ps 16:1-2a, 5, 7-11; Mt 28:8-15 Not undergoing corruption, but raised from death, Jesus instructs the women to announce his resurrection to the disciples. Although we have never seen him, we believe that Jesus is the Christ, begotten by God. We give thanks to the Lord that he has formed us into a community of believers, united in the Spirit.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE
Pascua viene de una palabra hebrea pesah que quiere decir “lugar de pastos” e indica el final de un periodo de ayuno. La Pascua
Judía celebra la libertad del cautiverio de Egipto. El cristianismo, siendo en su origen una secta judía, tomo la fiesta de la Pascua para celebrar la
muerte y resurrección de Jesús quien nos da la libertad del cautiverio pecaminoso de nuestras vidas.
Eventualmente el uso de “Pascua” pasó a indicar cualquier evento en la vida de Jesús que añade a la libertad que nos obtuvo en su vida, cruz y resurrección. He aquí porque tradicionalmente se hablaba de la Pascua del Nacimiento, la Pascua Florida o Pascua de Resurrec-ción y la Pascua del Espíritu Santo (Pentecostés) y todavía en grandes
fiestas religiosas del año la gente se saluda con “Felices pascuas”. En EE. UU., Argentina y otros países se celebra la Pascua
(Easter en inglés) con la búsqueda de huevos multicolores y supuesta-mente traídos por una coneja. Easter era una diosa teutónica cuyos símbolos eran el huevo y la coneja, símbolos de vida y fertilidad que
pasaron a representar la nueva vida que se nos da al ser liberados del pecado por la Pascua de Jesús.

Easter brings us the Good News that Jesus has triumphed over sin and death itself. And so will we if we believe in His Easter power. Jesus is ready to work miracles for us. It’s the Good News that nothing can defeat us anymore – not sin, nor sorrow, not rejection, not even death. For all things are possible with God for those who love Him. And, we don’t have to wait until we die to share in the risen life of Jesus. We can begin right now on this beautiful Easter morning. For at every Mass the Risen Lord rises up among us to unite us as the Body of Christ. Let us go forward eagerly to proclaim this Good News. There are many who do not appreciate the Mass. They are waiting for someone to invite them back to participate in the salvation Jesus won for them. Won’t you be the one to share your faith with them so they can experience the hope the Good News offers? May the God of Hope journey with you throughout your days. May the Good News of Easter give you courage. May the God of hope bless you and keep you faithful as he deepens His love within you.

La Pascua nos trae las Buenas Nuevas de que Jesús ha triunfado sobre el pecado y la muerte misma. Y nosotros también si creemos en Su Pascua poder. Jesús está listo para hacer milagros por nosotros. Son las Buenas Nuevas que na-da puede vencernos más, ni el pecado, ni la tristeza, ni el rechazo, ni siquiera la muerte. Porque todas las cosas son posibles con Dios para aquellos que Y no tenemos que esperar hasta morir para compartir la vida resucitada de Jesús. Podemos comenzar ahora en esta hermosa Pascua Mañana. Porque en cada Misa el Señor Resucitado se levanta entre nosotros para unirnos como el Cuerpo de Cristo. Avancemos ansiosamente para proclamar esta Buena Nueva. Hay muchos que no aprecian la Misa. Están esperando que alguien los invite a volver a participar en la salvación que Jesús ganó para ellos. ¿No serás tú quien compartirá tu fe con ellos para que puedan experimentar la esperanza que ofrece Good News? Que el Dios de la esperanza viaje contigo a lo largo de tus días. Que las Buenas Nuevas de Pascua te den valor. Que el Dios de la esperanza te bendiga y te mantenga fiel mientras profundiza Su amor dentro de ti.

Saint Faustina Kowalska 1905-1938, in Poland she was a Sister in the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. She was personally visited by Jesus. He appeared with a red and light shining. He said “I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. In 2000, Pope John Paul Declared the first Sunday after Easter will be known as Divine Mercy Sunday. Please join us for one hour of prayer on this special day.

A NOTE FROM CHAIR, MARTI REID:
Each year St. Thomas Aquinas holds our Spring Festival. Over forty years ago a small group of dedicated parishioners began it all and today it has grown into the best family festival in the Ojai Valley Spending the first weekend in May on the grounds of St. Thomas has become a tradition for many families and friends.
We have something for everyone! From games, a variety of American classics & ethnic foods, beer& wine, rum-mage sale, boutique, raffles, bands, auctions, and the best tri-tip & chicken BBQ in the valley. It takes lots of work and volunteers
to make our festival continue to be a huge success. It provides a great opportunity for new parishioners to meet new people, get involved and become a more active part of our church community. We are always in need of new ideas
and people to make them happen. All of our festival proceeds go to helping with general operations and capital improvements of the parish. Our current chairs who organize the festival could
use a few extra minds this year especially in the areas of plants, food and silent auction. We would be happy to provide more

Be sure to return your ticket stubs before the early bird $100 drawings on April 8 and April 23. Please return the volunteer
sheet to the office or contact Chris Jones 469-3759 as soon as possible. Your help is needed to make the Festival a success.
UNA NOTA DE LA PRESIDENCIA, MARTI REID:
Cada año Santo Tomás de Aquino sostiene nuestra Fiesta de la Primavera. Hace más de cuarenta años, un pequeño grupo de
feligreses dedicados comenzó todo y hoy se ha convertido en el mejor festival de la familia en el Valle de Ojai
Pasar la primera semana de mayo en los terrenos de Santo Tomás se ha convertido en una tradición para muchas familias y amigos. ¡Tenemos algo para todos! Desde juegos, una variedad de clásicos americanos y comidas étnicas, la cerveza y el vino, venta de artículos usados , boutique, rifas, bandas, subastas y
la mejor barbacoa tri -tip y pollo en el valle. Se necesita un montón de trabajo y voluntarios para que
nuestro festival continuará siendo un gran éxito. Se ofrece una gran oportunidad para los nuevos feligreses a conocer gente
nueva, participar y convertirse en una parte más activa de nuestra comunidad de la iglesia. Estamos siempre en la
necesidad de nuevas ideas y personas para hacer que sucedan. Todo nuestro festival de los ingresos va a ayudar con las
operaciones generales y mejoras de capital de la parroquia. Nuestras sillas actuales que organizan el festival podrían utilizar unas pocas mentes extra este año, especialmente en las áreas
de planta, alimentos y subasta silenciosa. Estaríamos encantados de proporcionar más información o inscribirse para
