LIFE GOES ON
If you are struggling with
the loss of a loved one,
please join with Patsy
Winderweedle as we
meet to support each
other while coping with
the changes and feelings.
Our July meetings will
be on Mondays,
July 7, 14, 21, & 28 at
3 p.m. at the church.
Contact
Patsy Winderweedle

for more information.
Sunday Fellowship Hour after
both 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services is
a time for all parishioners to so-
cialize with friends and welcome
visitors. This is an opportunity for
us to show newcomers what a
friendly church family we are.
We need people to sign up on
the refreshment sheet on the bulle-
tin board in the Parish Hall. When
you sign up to support our Fel-
lowship Hour with refreshments,
you will be making coffee and/or
other beverages, providing and
setting out goodies and healthy
snacks, and cleaning up after-
wards. Cleaning up isn’t an exten-
sive job—just rinsing the coffee
pots, turning off the coffee maker,
and removing any remaining food.
If you haven’t done it before, ask
someone at the Vestry table for
assistance. Your help is greatly
appreciated. If you have any ques-
tions, please don’t hesitate to con-
tact Jeanne Bryson, your Fellow-
ship Committee Chair, either via e
-mail at [email protected] or
by phone (760) 220-1317.
Summer Adult Formation Series
Book discussion group: “The Courage to Grow Old” by Barbara Cawthorne Crafton. “I
think growing older is both funny and sad, but mostly it just makes me grateful to be
alive and able to reflect. I have been an Episcopal priest for 33 years and have had
extensive experience in ministering with the elderly. Now, I am growing old myself. I
hate it when people are ashamed of being old. We should be proud!” she proclaims.
Join her in this celebration of life and as we discuss it together at St. Timothy’s in a
discussion convened by Fr. Jeff over four weeks beginning Sunday July 13th
. Books
are now available for anyone who wishes to attend; suggested donation $10.
HELE MEI HOOHIWAHIWA (COME CELEBRATE)! St. Timothy’s Annual
Luau will be on July 12, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. We are supporting
Operation School Bell once again with voluntary donations at the door of $5
per person (under 12 years of age free). The Assistance League of Apple Valley
is requesting only cash donations this year so they can purchase the items
needed. The children from Vacation Bible School will sing for us and we will
enjoy a performance by our resident hula ensemble, the Poi Boys. Sign-up sheets are
available at the Vestry table. We need your participation to make this the fun event it has
been for many years. Please come and enjoy a wonderful fellowship opportunity! For
more information, contact Jeanne Bryson at 760-220-1317

Scholarship ● Character ● Community.
To the Parents, Students, Faculty, Staff, and Community Members of St. Timothy's School:
We are excited to announce that the Board has hired a wonderful new Interim Head of School!
Dr. Betty Creamer has agreed to serve in this capacity effective on July 1, 2014. Dr. Creamer comes to us from rich and exten-
sive history of leading Episcopal Schools around the U.S. and the world.
She has a demonstrated track record of increasing enrollment, developing new sources of funds, and bringing a sense of joy and
new life in the schools she has served. Dr. Creamer has played roles in school accreditation, won awards for fundraising, has prov-
en her technology skills in the classroom and administration, and has a known reputation in the Episcopal School network for the
highest in integrity and living faith in daily work. She has served schools both large and small in a variety of contexts and cultures
and is excited to begin her work at St. Timothy's. Perhaps what impressed us most was her ability to bring humor and easy conver-
sation to every topic we discussed.
Dr. Creamer was selected through a process by the Executive Committee of the Board, and then interviewed by a panel of par-
ents, teachers, board members, and vestry members. All were unanimous that she was a great fit for us. We know that you want to
meet Dr. Creamer, and we look forward in the near future to announcing dates when you may come and meet her in a casual set-
ting.
We are excited about next year and look forward to returning to operations with a full-time Head of School. The three of us, the
School Board, and the Vestry are all ready to rally around her as the focal point and public face and voice of the School, while we
all support her work and vision by joining her in the never-ending work of building the School. Please join us in giving her a warm
Apple Valley welcome as you have the opportunity to meet her!
