Manitoba Hydro Corridor
• MH owned since 1970s• Location for transmission
lines to connect St. Vital Station with need and supply
• Greenspace and trails developed with Manitoba Hydro permission – partnership with Qualico, MH, City of Winnipeg
St. Vital Transmission Project
• 3- 230kV transmission lines• Promote reliability• Improve system
performance and ability to withstand outages
• Received Provincial Licence January 2017
Double Circuit• Design change in Sage
Creek in response to community feedback
• More separation between homes / lines
• 5 Less towers• 15 m taller towers to
accommodate ground clearance

Stringing
• Overhead work• Pulling ropes then
conductor through pulleys
• Requires road/trail closures
Rider Poles
• On either side of road crossings
• Prevent conductors from falling on roads
• Removed once stringing is complete
Site Clean Up• Garbage and materials cleaned up at end of
day• Debris on roads will be cleaned up
immediately• Damage to trails or tall grass prairie will be
repaired
Safety
• Please obey signage for your safety
• Construction equipment locked and fenced at night
Trail Access• Signs will mark trail closures
• Updates to trail closure information on our website www.hydro.mb.ca/sagecreek

days• May continue until 9 pm as
