The annual collection for Priests’ Retirement and Benefits is scheduled for the week-end of August 31st and September 1st. The dedicated Priests who served us in the past now deserve to live out their retire-ment years in dignity. The assessment to the parish are slightly less than two times the regular weekend offertory. Please be as generous as you can in the second collection being taken this weekend. O Holy Spirit, Spirit of wisdom and divine love, impart Your knowledge, understanding, and counsel to youth that they may know the vocation wherein they can best serve God. Give them courage and strength to follow God's holy will. Guide their uncertain steps, strengthen their resolutions, shield their chasti-ty, fashion their minds, conquer their hearts, and lead them to the vineyards where they will labor in God's holy service. …………………………………………………………………. THE CND ASSOCIATES are having a “Come and See” meeting to offer information about the Congregation of Notre Dame (CND), and their mission. The gathering will take place on Thursday, September 5th in the upstairs kitchen at IHM from 3:30 to 5:00 PM. Since we no longer have Sr. Terry and Sr. Margarita here in our community, we need to encourage more involvement to support what they did for others and their work in the community. Sr. Martha and Sr. Emelie from Cen-tral America will be there along with Sr. Pat who is bringing them here from NY. There will be light refreshments served. More General Announcements ..…………………………………………………………….….. PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN. Deacon Matt New-some, the Regional Faith Formation Coordinator for the Smokey Mountain Vicariate, will be conducting the course on protecting our most vulnerable. The class will take place on Thursday, September 12 from 9AM to 1:30PM at IHM. ALL Teachers and aides (over 18 years of age) are required to complete this class. The certification is valid for five years, so if you have attended a Protecting God’s Children class within that period, it will be on record and not required. CAJUN FEST 2019—IT’S THE PLACE TO BE! FRIDAY, September 20th and SATURDAY, September 21st

THE FINANCE COUNCIL will meet Tuesday at 9:30AM in the Conference Room followed by THE PASTORAL COUN-CIL at 10:30AM in the Commons. ………………………………………………………………….. CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION grades 1-6 and Con-firmation resume Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Classes run from 6:00-7:30PM in the Seiglie Center. Registration will take place Sept. 18th from 5:30-6:00PM before regular classes begin. Only first graders and new students to the pro-gram need to complete a full registration form. All other stu-dents need to have their information verified by a parent. Veri-fication and registration will take place on the Sieglie Center porch. Registration forms are available on the table in the Commons. You may also contact Charlene Davidson at: 828-541-9300. Volunteers are needed on 28 Wednesday eve-nings for the upcoming 2019-2020 CFF classes. The classes are laid out for the year, and all that is needed is to go over the set lessons with the children or aid in a class where there is only one teacher. The children are the future of our Church. If we do not teach our children, the Church has no future. ………………………………………………………………….. CAJUN FEST 50/50 TICKETS. Envelopes containing your raffle tickets are on the table in the Commons. Please be sure to return your ticket stubs and money in the same envelope, and you may drop the envelope in the collection basket or return it to the Business Office during business hours. ST. VINCENT de PAUL’S fall fundraiser is a 2-night stay at a charming and cozy bed and breakfast nestled in the splendor of the Great Smokey Mountains. Tickets are $5.00 each, and will be on sale NEXT weekend. Tickets are also available thru the Parish Office. You will have a chance to win a 2-night stay in a Premier Room at the Buckhorn Inn in Gatlinburg. Breakfast is included in the room package worth approximately $500. Ticket drawing will take place after the 11AM Mass on Sunday, October 6th. Good luck! .
