CONCEPT NOTE
The essential theme of this webinar is to trace the historical evolution of the
epidemics and pandemics in India especially emphasizing the British regime and
to make a comparative analysis with the present Covid-19 situation, which has
created a fearful environment of death and destruction all over the world. It is
imporant to stress on how the present pandemic has mutilated the mental and
physical health of people and caused immense economic misery adversely
affecting socio-political and cultural identities.
Our distinguished speakers will be focusing on the various aspects of this
discourse starting from gender, environment, public health, social anthropology,
mental health and the other relevant concerns.
