Viewing YOUR Professional Learning Log
1. Log into StaffTrac. Click on MY INFO tab.
2. Click the PROFESSIONAL LEARNING tab.
3. You will see a chronological list of your PD events with the most recent at the top for the academic year and the associated PD hours.

NOTE: If you would like a hard copy of the professional development documented in StaffTrac, click the EXPORT TO PDF button at the top of the list page.

Requesting Conference Approval/Funding in StaffTrac
1. Log into StaffTrac. Click on PD tab.
2. Click on MY REQUESTS tab. Then click ADD NEW REQUEST button.
3. In the Proposal Template pull down menu, select CONFERENCE REQUEST.

4. Complete the highlighted sections. The * denotes required answers. ● Event name (skip course code) ● Description ● Upload a copy of the ‘SCSD Conference Request Form 2017-18’ signed by the
building principal in UPLOAD FLYER ● (Optional) – Upload agenda ● Format: Select Out-of-District Offering (if applicable)
5. Add event date, start/end times, meeting location, and #of instructional hour(s). Adjust hours for lunch and breaks as this time does not receive PD credit.

6. Complete the sections that are applicable to your request. Be sure to click at the bottom right corner. Note: If you request mileage, please upload MapQuest or Google Maps in ‘Agenda’ in the Event General Information section above. If you do not need a substitute for your class nor are there any other expenses associated with this request, please be sure ‘0.00’ is in the ‘TOTAL EXPENSES’ box. Need a sub? Enter ‘sub’ in the ‘Specify’ box in the COSTS section. In ‘Other(e.g. sub cost, parking, etc.) please enter 112.00 ($112/day). You will still need to request a substitute through the BOCES sub system after you have received approval for the requested event.

Conference Request Process: You must receive approval to attend a conference. If you do not receive approval, please do not assume that you are approved to attend. This electronic form will be sent through the approval process. You will receive EMAIL notification similar to the one below.
You can check the status of your request in StaffTrac by clicking PD in the blue ribbon and then clicking on the ‘My Requests’ tab.
After the conference, submit confirmation of attendance (e.g. certificate) to the Office of Planning and Accountability (Attn: Teri Shanahan) or attach a copy of the certificate to the StaffTrac request by clicking on ‘Evidence’ and uploading the document. PD credit for your professional development hours will not be entered until the Office of Planning and Accountability has proof of attendance – either hard copy or digital copy!

Signing Up for In District Event in StaffTrac
Option 1: Register through the catalog. Option 2: Register through the calendar.
1. Log into StaffTrac. Click on the PD tab.
Option 1: The CATALOG tab opens automatically. If it does not open, click on CATALOG.
Click course name to obtain details about the course. Click the blue SIGN UP to begin the process.
The worksheet for the event will open. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and click SIGN UP. .
Please note: If you want email notification during the approval process, check the box –
Confirm that you will attend by clicking OK.
After you confirm your attendance on a pop up screen, you will receive a message that you have successfully signed up for the course.

Option 2: Click the CALENDAR tab. If it does not open, click on CATALOG.
If you do not see catalog offerings, check to make sure the View PD box is checked. Click course name to obtain details about the course.
Click the blue SIGN ME UP.
Confirm that you plan attend on the pop-up screen by clicking OK.

If for any reason you find you are unable to attend a course you signed up for, go into your calendar, click the event, and cancel your attendance. This allows for a participant on the waiting list to obtain your slot for the course.
