For over 15 years we’ve been manufacturing quality staging systems and products, made to order in our Melbourne workshop.

From small beginnings, we’ve grown to become market leaders in the design, production and installation of permanent and portable staging systems, choir risers, tiered seating, access ramps and a wide range of associated stage products.

QUATTRO

Storage: The QUATTRO Storage Trolley Kit contains four wheels and a handle which are added to a podium, allowing for up to 20 podiums to be stacked on top (that’s 40m2 of staging stored in 2m2).

Operation: Place aluminium legs in the corner brackets and tighten wing nuts by hand, then secure the leg by sliding in the T piece. Podiums are attached with a hand tightened Klemm-fix connector, accessories are attached to the podium aluminium extrusion using T bolts, and hand wheels are finger tightened.

Our QUATTRO Stage System is the preferred portable or permanent stage solution across multiple industries. It is currently used in more than 400 venues nation-wide – a testament to its strength, quality and adaptability.

Designed and manufactured in Australia, the system is backed with a full 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts and labour for peace of mind.

When Carlingford Public School needed a stage for their hall, the original design requested was a custom 8m x 5m@600mm high QUATTRO Modular Stage with AS1428 compliant access ramp finished in a natural timber stain finish. However, a few months after the stage was complete, the principal requested an increase to the stage floor area capabilities to extend the space when the access ramp was packed away. With our flexible modular system, we were able to design a solution that gives the students a much larger stage and more performance options. Both the stage and ramp may be left assembled, or can be packed away on the convenient storage trolley kits when not in use.

The ultimate no-fuss staging solution, the DIVA Fold & Roll is designed with efficiency and simplicity front of mind. The complete unit is wheeled along on its easy glide castor wheels into position, the wheels are locked and the stage podium is lowered. The gas-struts make lowering and raising the podium a smooth process every time. Our unique Australian design eliminates pinch points and heavy lifting, and it can easily be set up and taken down by one person. Each podium may be used singularly, or you can join multiple Fold & Roll units together to create a variety of size and shape configurations. Once the stage is no longer required, the stage podium units store upright slotted compactly together making storage a breeze, even when space is limited.

Customisations: Marine grade carpet is the standard finish, or alternatively, you can opt for a timber stain finish. Black is the standard colour for stage valances or ask about alternative colour options to suit your branding. You can also add your school or company logo as we embroider to order.

An attractive and viable stage solution for all performance and event requirements, our PILOT Stage is manufactured in-house, so we can customise a system to your exact requirements. Compatible with the QUATTRO range of accessories, the standard PILOT design features a black timber stain podium finish, or alternative timber stain colours are available.

Operation: Aluminium legs are placed in the corner brackets and wing nuts tightened by hand. The leg is securely held in the corner with a sliding T piece. Podiums are attached together with a hand tightened Klemm-fix connector. Accessories are attached to the podium aluminium extrusion using T bolts, and hand wheels are finger tightened.

The main body of the risers and framework are constructed into one complete unit. The only removable components are the safety handrails which are quickly and easy affixed finger tight to the main choir riser body using our T bolt. The detachable handrails are then stored on the rear of the MELBA Fold & Roll when not in use.

Building on the proven design strength of our DIVA Fold & Roll, the MELBA Fold & Roll is simply wheeled along on its easy glide castor wheels. Once in place, the wheels are locked and the riser podiums are lowered into the horizontal position.

Our unique in-house design eliminates dangerous pinch points and the need for heavy lifting, which makes the MELBA Fold & Roll Choir Riser extremely user friendly and able to be operated by one person.

Our modular podium systems adapt easily from single to multi-level by changing the leg lengths in the corner castings. The unique Klemm-fix connector joins each level securely, and leg clamps secure the multiple levels to one other. We can design a tiered stage to suit your requirements, and as the entire system is free standing, it will accommodate unusual wall shapes and obstacles.

Each of our stage curtain and valance systems are individually designed and made to suit a range of purposes including front of house, upstage, midstage, downstage, cycloramas, backdrops, blackout, scrims and more.There is a system to suit all our permanent and portable stages, and we can also work with you to design and create a unique system for your existing stage, even if it was sourced elsewhere. There is a wide range of fabrics and colours to choose from, plus, we can embroider your school or company logo onto the valance centre panel. The Nike House of Go is a labyrinth of rooms to bounce, run and slide.

The journey begins in a massive ball pit with half a million pink balls, followed by an indoor bouncing castle, light room with multicoloured helium balloons and a virtual reality run through Richmond. It finishes with a slide down a swirly, pink and blue outdoor slippery slide into a foam pit.

Select Concepts was contacted by the team at Julio Himede Production Design NSW, with an urgent brief to design and manufacture within 4 days two custom Free Standing Step Units for a successful product launch at Collingwood Arts Precinct in early March 2018 for NIKE.

Our successful participation with the manufacture and installation,within the four days,of two Custom White Step Units with Safety Hand Rails for the Ball Pit Room ensured a fun effective and successful promotion. Each of the two Free Standing Step Units allowed access in or out of the Ball Pit Room. The “In” Step Unit was added to on site by the designers with a slippery slide for participants to swoosh into the Ball Pit.

Products FeaturedFree Standing Box Style Step Units

In March 2018, we were contacted by Julio Himede Production Design with an urgent brief to design and manufacture two custom freestanding step units for the entry and exit points of the ball pit room in the newly built Nike House of Go. With the launch day looming, we were working against the clock with a four-day deadline, but our experienced design and manufacturing team got the job done.

Two custom white step units with safety handrails were installed in the ball pit room on schedule, ensuring a successful launch was held in the newly developed Collingwood Arts Precinct. Each of the two units allowed access in or out of the room, before the designers added a slippery slide to the entry step, so participants can now make a fast and exciting sliding entry into the pit.

ACCESS RAMPS

Today, new and existing stages and platforms are required to provide safe and compliant facility access for those with a disability or reduced mobility. All our access ramps are made in Australia and comply with the Australian Standards AS1428.1.

Our innovative modular access ramp solution can be paired with any of our staging systems, or we can retrofit our compliant access ramps to any existing stage or platform.

All venues and facilities are required by law to provide patrons with a safe and compliant access ramp system. This includes schools, universities, retirement villages, hospitality venues, corporate workplaces, shopping centres, theatres, museums and more.

The core strength of the Select Staging Concepts access ramp is the premium plywood podium coupled with the unique aluminium extrusion, which ensures that all custom-built access ramps are safe, strong and secure. Every ramp is specially designed to deliver a tailored solution for each client and comply with the stringent Australian Standards AS 1428.1 requirements for access ramps and landings in a 1:14 gradient.

Transport Trailer

Our trolley kit is an innovative solution for quickly and easily storing your portable stage podiums. With the kit, you use one of the stage podiums as the trolley floor, then simply attach the supplied castor wheels and trolley handle and stack the remaining stage podiums on top. It can hold up to 20 podiums per trolley, which allows you to store 40m2 of staging in just 2m2 of floor space.

Another transport option is the vertical doorway access trolley. They fit through a standard doorway, allowing ease of movement from one venue to the next. Vertical doorway trolleys are constructed with a side safety rail to securely lean stage podiums against. They are ideal for smaller stages with 8–10 podiums.

Transport trolley kits are space efficient, as stairs and railings stack on top of the podiums and there is no bulky trolley to store while stage system is in use.

Our PILOT and drama box winners’ podiums can be customised to suit any presentation requirements. For the PILOT winners’ podium, you can choose from a selection of timber stain colours, while the drama box podiums give you a choice of timber stains or marine grade carpet. - Connectors slot into aluminium extrusion on all podiums, and are quickly and easily tightened by hand with tightening tool to secure all podiums together - Leg clamps are used for joining different stage, tiered seating or choir riser levels

The performance requirements of stages vary greatly. Whether for dance, drama, music or speeches, the design of each stage area needs to be the optimum height for the purpose and the capacity of the venue. With QUATTRO and PILOT stages, you don’t need a new podium to achieve different height performing spaces – you can simply add adjustable height legs, or purchase standard stage legs in a variety of lengths.

Podium Legs

Portable reusable scenery panels are custom made to order for a multitude of performance and event requirements. Versatile for almost anything requiring a backdrop or visual presentation, you can transform your stage quickly and easily between scenes or events by simply rearranging the scenery panels.

The standard size panels are 2.4m x 1.2m, and you can opt for feet brackets to free-stand or mobile panels that come complete with wheels. Our lightweight plywood scenery panels are covered in carpet

making them ideal for pin or VELCRO® Hook and Loop fastener tape*. The carpet is available in a variety of colours giving you plenty of scope for design. Scenery panels can also be used for notice boards or dividers at expos or industry events.
