Our latest exhibition is a mixed bill of sharp, jagged and confronting contrasts. We pay tribute to Gertrud Bodenwieser, a major force in pre-war modern dance, whose company performed in 1940 at His Majesty’s Theatre. Displayed from that season are four costumes. Two costumes date from 1930 and came with her to Australia when she fled the Third Reich in 1939.
