Notes from Mr. Sprague It has been a busy week at WSMS. Last Saturday our 7th and 8th grade teams won their Frontier League Tournaments and came home Frontier League Champions. Our Cross Country Teams had strong finishes at the Frontier League Cross Country Meet:

This week at WSMS we will have the State Math Interim Assessment, an Assembly Featuring Brad Hurtig, and parent-teacher conferences. We are very excited about the Brad Hurtig Assembly. He has a powerful message about overcoming obstacles. Brad lost both of his arms in an accident his sophomore year of high school. Within a year, he earned his starting linebacker sport back on the football team and his senior year he earned First Team All Ohio Honors.

Parent-Teacher Conferences Parent-Teacher conferences are Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday from 1:00 - 4:00 and 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Fall conferences are not scheduled. You are invited to come at your convenience to meet with all of your child’s teachers. Core teachers will be in the Multi-purpose Room and elective teachers will be in the commons. We look forward to seeing you all at conferences.

Traffic Concerns at PCES Dismissal

Our goal is to ensure the safety of students before, during, and after school. Traffic at dismissal can get backed up at the PCES entrance to the parking lot on 165th street. We are getting word from the PCES staff that drivers are passing cars who are waiting to turn left into the parking lot. This creates an unsafe environment for vehicles entering the parking lot and students trying to cross the crosswalk.

A safer route for our families to the east of Prairie Creek is to take Murlen to the roundabout and continue to 167th street to Woodland Spring Middle School. This will help alleviate the traffic on 165th StreetWe appreciate your help in keeping our Prairie Creek Students safe and using this alternate route.
