Description

The Navistar Learning Management System (LMS) is a website that allows users to learn about different vehicle and business

systems. There are multiple levels of access with courses tailored for each user group. This document is segmented to help users

complete common tasks within the LMS. For more information, please contact [email protected] or open a Dealer

Education Case File.

Site Overview

Main Menu

The main menu is located on the left side of the site. This menu is used to navigate the LMS and access features available to the

users. The following sections offer an overview of the different functions available to users based on their permission level.

Home

The Home button directs the user to the home page where they can view announcements or follow customized links to more

information or training from partner sites. The home page also displays any Certification Paths the user has assigned to them

and their completion percentage.

My Current Enrollments

The My Current Enrollments button directs the user to a list of courses they are currently enrolled in. From this page, the user

can launch training modules and track what has been assigned to them.

User Information (Single Sign-On Users)

The User Information button directs Single Sign-On users to a page where they can review their profile information. If the

information displayed is not correct, it must be corrected in the main Human Resources (HR) system, such as Employee

Registration (ER). Changes made in an HR system will be shown in the LMS after 24 hours.

User Information (Internal, Customer, Fleet, and Retail Users)

The User Information button directs the user to a page where they can review and modify their profile information.

Administrator Access

The Administrator Access button replaces the User Information button for users who have Administrator permissions for their

Company. Users with Administrator Access can run reports or modify information for other users in their company.

Supervisor Access

The Supervisor Access button directs the user to a page where they can run reports or modify information for users who

report to them directly.

Course Catalog

The Course Catalog button directs the user to the list of courses that are available for them to enroll into. Courses are grouped

into categories to make it easier to find the desired information.

My Transcript

The My Transcript button directs the user to the list of courses they have previously completed. Courses will be listed in

alphabetical order and can be filtered to quickly find specific courses.

Calendar

The Calendar button directs the user to a calendar view of upcoming scheduled classes. Available classes can be filtered by

region, so the user can find classes close to them.

Print Certification

The Print Certification button is used to generate a certificate displaying all certification paths the user has completed.

Browser Check

The Browser Check button directs the user to a page that tests different internet browser options to ensure the best possible

playback for web-based courses.

Mobile Interface

The Mobile Interface button arranges content on the LMS to be optimized for mobile devices and small screens.

Standard Interface

The Standard Interface button arranges content on the LMS to be optimized for desktop devices and large screens.

Logoff

The Logoff button signs the user out of the LMS.

Home Page

The Home Page of the LMS is the first screen users will see after logging into the system. The page is divided into the following

sections:

Announcements

The Announcements section displays information

such as new LMS enhancements and training related

events. Newer announcements will appear at the top of

the list.

Custom Controls

The custom controls section has links to useful

information and external resources, such as training

offered from many of Navistar’s partners.

Certification/Certificate Assignments

Certification/Certificate Assignments are

groups of courses that can be assigned to a user to

guide them through courses selected to help them

in a skill category. Certification paths are listed on

the home page as overall categories. Users can click

the title of a certification path to see a list of the

courses that are a part of that path.

If a certification path is grayed out, it is because a

prerequisite path must be completed first. In the

event there is a prerequisite path, it will be listed to

the right to the locked path.

Course Information

The Course Information section is displayed for all courses that are part of a certification path or listed in the catalog. This

section lists course information such as:

1. Course Type: The course type icon indicates what type of course is listed. A

reference chart is available below to indicate what type of course each icon

represents.

This icon indicates that the course is offered as web-based training. Users may view the material at

any time.

This icon indicates that the course is offered as an online scheduled event, such as a webinar.

Users will need to select an open session to attend.

This icon indicates that the course is only offered as an in-person scheduled event. Users will need

to select an open session to attend.

This icon indicates that the course is only offered as an in-person scheduled event but does not

have a future session currently scheduled.

2. Certification Ribbon: The certification ribbon displays the completion status of

courses that are part of a Certification Path assigned to the user. A reference chart is

available below to indicate what each color ribbon represents.

A green ribbon indicates that a course is part of an assigned certification path and

that the course has been completed in the past.

A yellow ribbon indicates a course that is part of an assigned certification path that

still needs to be completed. The course is due at a future date.

A red ribbon indicates a course that is part of an assigned certification path that still

needs to be completed. The course is past due.

A gray ribbon indicates a course that is not part of an assigned certification path. Due

date information will not be calculated as the course is not assigned to the user.

3. Course Details: The See More and See Less button toggles a display of more

information about the course. The Course Details section is detailed below.

1. Course Description: This is a detailed description of

the course and the information covered.

2. Previous Enrollments: This is a list of previous times

the course was completed, if applicable.

3. Prerequisites: Courses the user must complete to meet

the requirements to enroll in this course.

4. Course Assignments: Lists the certification path(s)

this course is a part of that are also assigned to the

user.

4. Status Button: The status button allows the user to review

their enrollment status for a course or sign up for a new course. Possible statuses

include:

1. Select: Allows the user to enroll in the course.

2. Not Completed: Indicates a course the user is currently enrolled in.

3. Completed Satisfactorily: Indicates a course the user has previously completed.

4. No Classes Available: Indicates the course is still offered, but no classes have been scheduled.

5. Additional Information: Additional information about each course is listed next to its title. Some examples of

information that might be included are:

1. Enrollment due date - Due date for the certification path the course is part of.

2. Course duration - Estimated time, in hours, it takes to complete the course.

3. Next scheduled class (For Hands-on classes and Webinars) - Next scheduled

class that has open seats.

4. CEU (Continuing Education Units) - credits awarded for completing an accredited

course.

Course Catalog The Course Catalog gives the user access to all courses that are available to them. Some courses are prerequisites for other

courses and must be completed before the user is able enroll in more advanced courses. Many courses are grouped by vehicle

system or engine type.

Viewing Courses in the

Catalog

Users can browse the list of

available courses by selecting

Course Catalog to view

courses for multiple categories.

Enrolling in Web-Based Training

1. To enroll in a web-based course, select

Course Catalog and locate the course.

To see more information about the

course, click the See More button.

2. Click on the Select button to enroll in the

course.

3. If the enrollment was made successfully,

you will get a confirmation message.

4. You may now launch the Course from the

My Current Enrollments Page by

clicking the Launch icon.

Enrolling in Instructor Led Training (Hands-On Courses)

1. To enroll in an in-person course, select Course Catalog and locate the course. To see more information about the course,

click the See More button.

2. The See More section displays additional

Course information, a list of Prerequisites

(1) that are required for enrollment and a

list of upcoming classes that are

available (2).

3. Once you have verified that you have

completed all the prerequisites, click the

Select button. A schedule of the upcoming

classes will be loaded along with the number

of open seats currently available. Choose

which class you would like to enroll in and click the Enroll link on the right. A confirmation

email will be sent shortly after the enrollment is initiated (if the user has an email address set in

their User Profile).

Course Actions

Users can interact with courses in many ways such as launching a course, reviewing completed courses, or printing certificates.

Launching Courses

1. To Launch a course, navigate to My Current Enrollments from the main menu and find the course you would like to

launch.

2. Click on the Launch icon.

3. The Course Grade Book section is where the user can access the different sections of the course, see the current grade

and view/download the course’s reference material.

1. Module – each course module is a

chapter that contains material related

to the course. A course will be

comprised of one or more modules.

2. Test – many courses have tests that

cover the topics from the course. If

applicable, tests will follow any

learning material.

3. Score – this is the current grade for

each graded item. The total score is

shown in the last row.

4. Weight – each graded item will

have a weight that lists the total

number of points the item is worth.

5. Reference Materials – additional materials for the course available to review or download.

6. Passing grade for this course – this is the minimal grade that must be obtained in order to successfully complete

this course.

Reviewing Completed Courses

Each user can access a list of courses that were previously completed. There, the user can also relaunch courses, revisit

materials and print a certification of completion for each course.

To access the transcript, click on My Transcript from the main menu.

Print Certification (1)

The Print Certificate button allows the user to print a certificate stating when the course was completed.

Course Outline and Grades (2)

The Course Outline and Grades button allows the user to review completed courses and see what grade(s) they received.

Relaunch Course (3)

The Relaunch Course button allows the user to open a course that was previously completed. From here, the user can revisit

the content and testing material without having to enroll in the course again.

Additional Information (4)

Additional information about each course is listed on the right side of the

screen. Some examples of information that might be included are:

1. Due Date – Deadline for completion of the course

2. Duration – Duration of the course

3. Result – result of the course and dates last taken

4. CEU – Continuing Education Units: credits awarded for completing an

accredited course.

User Profile

User Information (Single Sign-On Users)

The User Information button directs the user to a

page where they can review their profile information.

If the information displayed is not correct, it must be

corrected in the main Human Resources (HR) system,

such as Employee Registration (ER). Changes made in

an HR system will be shown in the LMS after 24 hours.

On this screen users can review their profile

information, generate training history reports, create

course certification reports, and migrate training

history from a previous account.

User Information (Internal, Customer, Fleet, and Retail Users)

The User Information button directs users to a page

where they can review and modify their profile information.

On this screen users can review their profile information,

generate training history reports, and create course

certification reports.

Printing Certifications (Dealer)

1. Click on Print Certification from the main menu.

2. A certification with your name will appear on the screen in PDF format.

Mobile Interface The Mobile Interface button

toggles between a mobile-friendly

version of the interface and the

default standard desktop interface.

The mobile interface is the default

view for mobile devices and might

fit better on machines with smaller

displays, as the content is more

condensed for this type of view.

Delete enrollment

Download the course reference

material.

Enrollment cannot be deleted due to

course restrictions.

If a feature is not

available, the icon will be disabled.
