Heat wave conditions in December saw a sharp rise in consumption levels in some centres.
No schemes are on abnormal restrictions.

General
Staffing levels over the reporting period were at a minimum.
Water meter reading was completed in all centres for the February billing cycle.
Biggenden
Work was of routine nature during the two months. One main break and twenty service connection breaks were repaired during the reporting period.
Eidsvold
Work was of routine nature during the two months. One service connection break was repaired during the reporting period.
Staff is still being trained in the operation of the new water treatment plant. Most of the control issues have been resolved.
Gayndah
Work was of routine nature during the two months. One main break and thirty six service connection breaks were repaired during the reporting period.

Work was of routine nature during the two months.
Mundubbera
A dirty water incident occurred during January. This was attributed to an increase in chlorine dosing to counter act a water roll over in the storage area. Qld Health was notified as a courtesy. Mandatory health parameters of the treated water remained within specification during the event.
One main break and fourteen service connection breaks were repaired during the reporting period.
Mulgildie
Mulgildie Artesian Bore Production Mulgildie Artesian Bore Level & Pressure
Bore production characteristics remained steady during the reporting period. The residual bore pressure during pumping declined to a neutral value. The standing bore pressure remains less than 70% of the base line data measured in 2011 and less than the 2014/15 plateaued pressure.
Work was of routine nature during the two months. Four main breaks and two service connection breaks were repaired during the reporting period.

Part B Asset Management Report
Data Collection
Asset verification has commenced on Councils Roads and Drainage network in preparation for next years asset revaluation. This will be an ongoing project with the focus to be on priority roads.
Two Way Repeaters/Communication – Digital Radio Rollout
Disaster Communication Enhancement Initiative – Digital Radio Rollout
Order was placed for 120 Digital Radios and accessories First over the air reprogramming was completed.
TV Towers
All services continue to be interrupted as a result of inclement weather conditions. Recent storms and very hot temperatures have resulted in services being unwatchable through the middle of the day.
Purchase orders have been issued to Satellite Television and Radio Australia (STRA) for the purchase of equipment to alleviate some of the issues we are experiencing.
Installation of equipment at Eidsvold is also awaiting further progression of the new communications tower at the Eidsvold Water Reservoir.
Example below is a graph that shows the transmission interruptions over a 30 day period for Channel Ten at Bancroft.

RMPC Inspections are up-to-date. RMPC claim #6 has been processed Heavy fleet inspections are complete with no outstanding defects Charlotte Gannon has commenced working with the assets team and will be
completing a Certificate III in Business Administration A report has been provided outlining outstanding road reseals and a proposal to
utilise money from the recent infrastructure grant to completed some of the required works.

PART C BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES
Maintenance
As of 19 December 2016, there are 38 open tasks to be actioned. Approximately 83 tasks have been received this month. During the month approximately 69 task requests were completed.
Maintenance
As of 19 January, 2017, there are 63 open tasks to be actioned. Approximately 54 tasks have been received this month. During the month approximately 47 task requests were completed.
CONSTRUCTION
Works in Progress
Council Facilities – Lock standardisation
Tender is currently being prepared for the supply and installation of SALTO locks and infrastructure on the Council’s Administration offices, Depots and Waste Facilities.
Monto Hall – External repaint
One quote has been received for the external painting of the Hall. The quoted price exceeds the amount budgeted in the capital plan.
Additional quotes will be sought to establish accurate costing of project.
Monto Memorial Park – Disabled toilet
Modular toilet block has been ordered Request for Quotation has been prepared and distributed for installation. Responses
are due to be received by 3 February, 2017.
Monto Admin - Generator Installation
This project is now complete.
Monto Sportsground – Asbestos flooring replacement
Request for Quotation has been prepared and distributed. Responses are due to be received by 3 February, 2017.
Monto Jaycee Park – Playground installation
Playground installation is due to commence 13 February, 2017.
Mundubbera Admin Office – Front counter alteration
Quotation has been invited on agreed floor plan.
Biggenden Memorial Hall – Shower installation
Quotation responses have been invited on alternate shower locations. Responses are still to be received.

Stronger Communities Grant – Eidsvold Banners and Poles
Banner poles have been installed. Christmas themed banners were received and displayed over Christmas period.
Non-seasonal banner designs are still to be prepared and ordered.
Eidsvold Admin – Generator installation
This project is now complete.
Christmas Decorations
Christmas decorations were received and displayed in Monto, Mundubbera, Eidsvold and Mount Perry.
Gayndah and Biggenden communities have organised their own decorations.
Housing upgrades – 5 year plan
Plans and quotes are being sourced for identified projects
Biggenden Office Internal Painting
Upon conclusion of the internal stair relocation, quotes will be sourced for the internal repainting of the Biggenden Administration Office.
Amenities Upgrades
Scope of works is being prepared for the upgrade of the amenities at Eidsvold Caravan Park and will be released with Request for Quotations in February once completed.
Swimming Pool Upgrades
Scope of works is being prepared for swimming pool amenities upgrades and will be released with Request for Quotations once completed.
Social Housing Unit upgrades
Work (repainting and floor coverings) has commenced in a number of units in Biggenden and Eidsvold.

1 PURPOSE OF REPORT
To inform Council of major activities undertaken by the Engineering Department in the reporting period.
2 CORPORATE PLAN
Infrastructure 1.1 Roads and Drainage 1.1.1 Develop, maintain and review Asset Management Plan for Council to ensure effective delivery of road infrastructure.

3 POLICY IMPLICATIONS All relevant NBRC Policies are adhered to where applicable.
4 STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS All relevant Standards and Codes are applied where required.
5 RISK MANAGEMENT
Risk management is an integral part in the planning and delivery of infrastructure services by the Engineering Department.
6 CONSULTATION Internal consultation occurs formally fortnightly at Engineering Management meetings and informally through briefing sessions with Councillors and staff. Engineering staff engage with Government agencies, other agencies and with the wider community on an ‘as needs’ basis.

1 PURPOSE OF REPORT The purpose of this report is to provide Council with information in relation to reported activities carried out particularly in the areas of Environmental Health, Trade Waste, Vermin and Vector Control and Waste Management/Collection. 2 INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND The attached reports detail statistical information for the months of November and December 2016 in the areas of Food Business, Vector Management and Waste Management Services. 3 CORPORATE/OPERATIONAL PLAN In accordance with outcome 4 Increasing the quality of water, land, air and the extent of biodiversity in the region. With particular relevance to sections 4.1 Pest Management, 4.3 Waste Management and 4.4 Environmental. 4 POLICY IMPLICATIONS

4.0 Vector Management
Council will continue to monitor mosquitoes throughout the season with Land Protection Officers and the Cadet Environmental Health Officer to undertake

mosquito identification once a month. The Mary Burnett Vector Management Group Meeting is scheduled for January. The following items are listed on the agenda for discussion; Comparing BG Traps with CO2 Light Traps and PHU/LG response to an Imported Dengue case in Wide Bay area.

6.0 Waste Education Activities
Environmental Services staff have started to promote Clean Up Australia Day. Clean Up Australia Day inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment. Clean Up Australia Day for 2017 will be held on Sunday 5th March with Schools holding there clean up day on 3rd March and Business Clean up day is scheduled for 28th February.
