5. EnableIEHosting Registry key

A new key called EnableIEHosting has to be created in Windows registry to allow STARLIMS to work with Internet Explorer. Windows registry may be changed using the Regedit Windows application or by creating a text file with .reg extension and “execute it” by double clicking it. The content for the .reg text file is presented below for each OS type. Depending on the operating system type – 32 or 64 bit - the key is located on different path in registry. For your convenience both keys are available for download here: https://my.starlims.com/support/dld/RegKeys.zip

If download is not a valid option the key can be manually created using the following content for the reg file:

For 32 bit:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework]

"EnableIEHosting"=dword: 00000001

For 64 bit:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework] "EnableIEHosting"=dword:00000001

Supposing the EnableIEHosting-64.reg file has been downloaded (or created) and placed on the Desktop. By double clicking it the following window will show up. Click Run to continue.

Accept the Registry Editor warning by clicking on Yes button:

The following window will confirm the key has been successfully created:
