People swim for fun, exercise, and for a fun sport. Swimming is
one of the best exercise for keeping healthy and fit! Swimming
makes the heart stronger and helps the blood transport through the
body smoothly. Swimming develops muscles. Swimming races have
always been a big part in summer Olympics during the 1900s swimming
became an important sport. Today thousands of swimmers take part in
meets or contests held by school colleges and swim clubs. Knowing
how to swim and following a few basic rules may say your life in am
emergency in the water you could all so save someone else Is life.

THE HISTORY OF SWIMMING Swimming started in the first century
but wasnt apart of the Olympics until 1896. Ancient carvings in the
Middle East have proved that people have been swimming over 4,000
Years! WOMEN HISTORY Women werent aloud to compete in Olympic games
until 1912.The youngest swimmer is Aileen Riggin. Born May 2 1906
(-October 19 2002). She made the Olympics at only age 14. In 1920

Madesto, California he swam at india university to compete.At age 2
he moved to hawaii he was natural.His father Arnold taught him. He

MISSY FRANKLIN Missy was born on May 10 1995 in Pasadena
California USA She started swimming at age 5. My mom was afraid of
the water so she wanted me to start early. Missy played
basketball,soccer,tennis,volleyball, gymnastics,and skating before
swimming. AT age 13 franklin competed at the 2008 US Olympic
Trials.Franklin competed in her first international event duel in
the pool in 2009 at just 14 and in 2010 she was named breakout
performer of the year at the USA swimming gala golden goggles. At
the 2012 Olympic games she got bronze in 4x100-meter freestyle gold
in the 100m backstroke 4 th place in the 200m freestyle gold in the
200m backstroke also gold in the 4x100 medley relay. She looks
forward to going to the 2016 Olympics!!!!

MICHAEL PHELPS!!!!! Born June 30 1985 Towson Maryland. Full
name- Michael Fred Phelps. 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing China,
Phelps competed five individual events and three relay games. He
won gold medals in all eight events setting seven world records.
HIS HISTORY Phelps competed his first Olympic games at age 15 as
part of the U.S. mens swim team. At 14 he entered U.S. national
championship. At age seven he followed his sisters into swimming.
At eleven his talent won over coach Bob Bonim. Surprisingly he was
afraid of putting his head under water. BAD BOY He got arrested in
2004 and 1n 2014 for speeding in Baltimore, Maryland.

RYAN LOCHTE He was born in Rochester New York on August 3
1984.He started swimming at age 5. He won 11 Olympic medals.
Including 5 gold medals,7 NCAA championship and 51 major
international medals. When he was little his father was a swim
coach so lochte started swim and loved swim at a very young age.
Lochte first qualified for the Olympics in 2004.After graduation he
attended the university of Florida where he was named NCAA swimmer
of the year twice and swam his way to victory countless times,
becoming a 7 time NCAA champion.
