As a young boy, Bill Daragan was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. He spent most of his teenage years preparing to walk down this path. Upon graduating from high school, he quickly made his mark as a business owner. In 2008, Bill Daragan purchased an existing 1,000 square foot wholesale cell phone accessory business in a shopping plaza in Plantation, Flori-da. His merchandise was sold to local businesses such as flea market kiosks, small cell phone stores, etc.

Accessories were packed in boxes that were ceiling high, making it difficult for customers to find exactly what they wanted. A customer would come in and grab 10 black cases for an iPhone and leave with only that purchase, not realizing that the other boxes held every color imaginable. Bill decided to unpack the boxes and display all the varieties of colors and designs by hanging them on the walls for easy access. In just a month’s time, his business tripled and he immediately needed more space. To accomodate this he took over the unit next to him, adding another 1,000 square feet to his business. It seemed that every month, business was increasing and he needed more space. Due to Bill’s great prices, personality, and dedicated team, he took over most of the shopping center totaling 11,000 square feet. He soon needed room to store inventory and had to rent warehouse space directly behind the expanded wholesale business. At this point, he decided to open a couple of kiosks in a mall and start selling accessories to the public. Realizing that he needed a good right hand man, Bill asked his cousin Timothy Phelps to partner with him on this new retail venture. With Tim supervising, this business also excelled. During this time, customers repeatedly asked Tim if he could also fix the broken screens on their phones. Being the sales expert that Tim is, he did not want to turn down any business. He diligently learned how to disassemble and reassemble phones in order to complete the necessary repairs. Before long, screen repairs became a major portion of the business. This encouraged Bill and Tim to turn the kiosks into a cell phone repair and accessory store. The first step in bringing their vision to fruition was to come up with a great name. After much collaboration, ‘DrPhoneFix’ was born. Now the growing needs for quality and professional repairs would be met.

This demand motivated the cousins to open a brick and mortar location. Coincidentally, there was still 1,000 square feet left at the south end of the same shopping center as Bill’s accessory business. This became their first in-line DrPhoneFix store. DrPhoneFix did so well that they spoke with Dan Daragan, Bill’s father and accomplished businessman, for his expert advice on how to expand thier business. He recommended developing a license program. A few months later, they opened their first Licensed DrPhoneFix in Alabama. The three worked tirelessly on selling license agreements, as well as opening other corporate locations. After several licensed stores were up and running, it became apparent to Bill that if he wanted to be successful on a grand scale; he would need to have more supervision over each DrPhoneFix location. Dan then made the suggestion to convert the License Program into a Franchise Program. To handle their projected growth, in 2013 DrPhoneFix purchased a 24,000 square foot warehouse to use as headquaters for corporate and franchise stores. There are 6 showrooms, training facilities, a marketing department, and corporate offices. The Franchise Program became a win-win for both the company and the Franchisees, as now they would have more hands on help and their stores would run more efficiently. There are currently thirty DrPhoneFix stores, located in four states. DrPhoneFix provides customers with professional highly skilled technicians and management they can count on! That is when Ochoa’s love for technology started, and has continued to grow ever since. He started editing websites at an early age in 1998, while he was still in high school. This led to his interest in graphic design, which then led him to taking web design and programming classes at American High School in Miami, Florida. Following his High School graduation, he continued to expand his knowledge in the Web Design industry during his attendance at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Throughout the next three years, he vigorously studied the subjects of Computer Science Web Designs & Multimedia. Modesto has worked to master his Marketing craft with DrPhoneFix for the past 5 years. He has built a strategic, in-house Marketing Team composed of Web Designers, Graphic Designers, Content Writers, SEO and PPC specialists to continue enhancing the DrPhoneFix brand. Aids in exceeding annual sales targets within assigned regions. Establishes and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Observes the market, identifies new trends, and monitors the industry’s main competitors. Based on observations, develops and executes strategic sales plans in order to increase profit margins as well as the company’s customer base.

Coordinates with DrPhoneFix clients (Franchisees/Licensees/Store Managers) to ensure all parts reach customers within an appropriate time frame. Maintains updated knowledge on all new products. Administers and retains records of all warranty parts returned, evaluates and tracks all orders. Ensures optimal level of customer satisfaction by collaborating with customers/vendors to maintain sufficient inventory stocks. Processes invoices and evaluates quantity/quality of merchandise received as well as keeps record of all parts purchased/received.

Inventory management oversees the Parts Specialist at headquarters in ordering, storage and tracking of products. This position also includes organizing and maintaining files on all distributions of products. An Inventory Director’s job involves time at HQ as well as travelling to DrPhone Fix stores throughout the region. Inventory is a major asset to our company and must be managed thoroughly, with highest regard.

Responsible for creating/implementing training programs and overseeing the development of careers. Provides classroom-style training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, continuing education training, workshops, as well as supervising operational/technical training for all staff members and Franchisees. Assesses DrPhoneFix’s needs and plans training programs accordingly. Establishes testing, performance feedback , and performance evaluations for all trainees in order to create long-term career plans with DrPhoneFix.

Minimum Qualifications

• What are the basic financial requirements for franchising with DrPhoneFix?

A credit score of 550 or better.

• What are liquid assets?

An asset is said to be liquid if it is easy to sell or convert into cash without any loss in its value

• How do I determine my net worth?

Your net worth is essentially the grand total of all your assets minus your liabilities.

• Do you require repair experience?

No, we will give you all the necessary training.

• If I cannot personally meet all the requirements, may I partner with other people?

Yes. However, the partner that runs the store must attend our extensive training program and be DPF Certified.

Real Estate Development Qualifications

• What type of locations do DrPhoneFix stores usually open in?

We look for locations with great exposure with either heavy foot traffic or heavy traffic patterns that are located in either a shopping center with a major anchor or a local regional mall.

• What does DrPhoneFix look for in a location or site?

See #6 above. In addition, we look for strong demographics, good ingress and egress, and plenty of parking.

• Who determines whether or not I can open a DrPhoneFix in a particular location?

Both the Franchisee (you) and DrPhoneFix.

Finance

• Does DrPhoneFix provide financing?

Yes. The Franchise Fee must be paid up front, and then with a good credit score we will finance 40% of the remaining balance to open your unit.

General Information

• I am interested in owning the development rights for an entire area, so that I am the only one who can build DrPhoneFix’s in that area. Can I do this?
