Static Creative Doesn’t Stack Up toSteelHouse’s Rich Media A2 Ads

Fun and flirty, Yumi Kim can be found on Hollywood’s hottest starlets and stylish girls worldwide. The brand is known for its unique bright floral prints, bold colored silks, and vintage silhouettes. Established in 2004, Yumi Kim has two store fronts located in NYC. The line is also sold through upscale boutiques and department stores throughout the country and has a website dedicated to previewing the latest collections where shoppers can buy direct.
Static Ads Fall Flat
Before partnering with SteelHouse, Yumi Kim relied on industry standard, static retargeting ads to drive traffic to YumiKim.com. The static ads feature only their logo and only one image in one scene. Unimpressed by the results, they turned to SteelHouse’s marketing platform to launch a branding campaign with retargeting ads that would drive new traffic to their site, as well as increase their brand awareness and engagement.
A2 Technology Delivers a Big Brand Experience
SteelHouse set out to design new display ads that are as vibrant as the brand itself. They decided to perform a split test to see how Yumi Kim’s existing static creative would perform compared to HTML ads SteelHouse built with A2 technology. Using some of Yumi Kim’s existing assets, SteelHouse created new ads and enhanced them with special effects like dynamic 3D product carousels, product expansion, multi-scenes and video. The two sets of creative – the original static ads and SteelHouse’s A2 ads – were served whereby 50% of the traffic saw the static ads and the other 50% of traffic saw the A2 ads. The two ad groups were then compared against each other. The result, the A2 creative achieved a 3,089% lift in click rate compared to the static ads.
