Luke 3:21-22

21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened 22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in

bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son,

whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

Luke 3:21-23a

23 Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry.

1. Jesus lived and died and lives for you.

Luke 3:21a

Hebrews 4:15

15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our

weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we

are--yet was without sin.

2. The Holy Spirit is with us and in us also.

Luke 3:21b-22

1 Corinthians 6:19

a. He helps us to live as witnesses.

Acts 1:8

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will

be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of

the earth."

b. He helps us in our worship.

Philippians 3:3

3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God,

who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—

c. He provides us with supernatural power.

1 Corinthians 12:1-2

1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2 You

know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced

and led astray to mute idols.

1 Corinthians 12:3

3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says,

"Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy

Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4-7

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in

all men. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for

the common good.

3. Trusting in God’s timing and plans and purpose.

Luke 3:3
