What about:Mobile Black Spots?

There are limitations with the mobile network – but it is constantly improving

Any solution is a balance of risk, functionality and cost

Satellite phones could be used but are generally prohibitively expensive

Data requirement is different to voice call – only need a brief connection in variable coverage areas

Technology not the whole solution – part of the solution is to include relevant procedures to cope with no coverage

StaySafe reduces the risks

Is it Big Brother?

No, absolutely not – purpose is safety hence the name - StaySafe!

User has to start the software so they are in control

Employer has a duty of care – so needs to take reasonable steps to ensure safety

Fundamentally, in the event of an incident need to know where someone is to help them

Particularly if they are not where their schedule says they are and they are unable to communicate!
