• I will submit request for one last one-year, no-cost extension to Dr. Isabel Walls, National Program Leader, Division of Food Safety, on July 30, 2017.

• “A justification describing the exceptional circumstancesthat contribute to the need for the requested no-cost extension. The justification should be compelling such that it demonstrates a bona fide need to convince program staff and the Awards Management Division (AMD) that the no-cost extension is warranted for successful completion of the award.”

• “The approximate amount of funding that is to be carried forward.”

• “A progress report listing work completed (from the original objectives and work remaining to be completed under the one-year no-cost extension period (also from the original objectives).”

• “If the no-cost extension is approved, awardee must submit a progress report to REEport at the end of the 6th year.”

• At the end of the final year, awardee must submit a final technical report to REEport and a final financial report to AMD for closeout of the award.”

• “The award will terminate at the end of the final year and be closed out by AMD.”

• “Awardee will not be granted a subsequent no-cost extension.”

Budget and Expenditures• Total Award Amount: $24,808,592• All funds have been obligated.• Approximately 21.6% of funds remain

unspent.• Current end date for all subawards is

11/30/2017.• If Year 7 no-cost extension is approved, final

end date for spending on subawards will be 10/31/2018.• At UNL, the final end date for spending

will be 12/31/2018.
