The Coach MARIANNE WATKINS Director of Hockey Skating - RMU ISC Professional Hockey Skating Consultant One of the most sought after skating coaches in hockey, Marianne has worked with many of the games top players from numerous NHL teams. The Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Florida Panthers have all utilized her as their skating consultant to work with their upcoming draft picks and prospects. With over 30 years experience, Watkins has worked with some of the best players to ever skate the game. She was featured in Paul Coffey's instructional video, “Skate like a Pro,” and on “The Hockey Show” (ESPN/TSN), and was the exclusive skating coach for Wayne Gretzky’s Future Stars camps. She was recognized as one of the top instructors in her field at the International Hockey Skating Symposium and is a presenter at USA Hockey clinics and the first female to speak at the 25th anniversary of the prestigious Roger Neilson's Coaches Clinic. At the RMU Island Sports Center, Watkins conducts year-round camps, clinics, team practices, classes, and private instruction to players at all levels. She works with RMU NCAA Division 1 Men’s and Women’s teams. Accordingly and in consideration of being allowed to participate in any skating activities and/or activities at the RMU Island Sports Center, I agree to the following: 1. I acknowledge and fully understand that I will be engaging in activities that involve risk of serious injury, which may include permanent disability and even death, and severe social and economic losses that might result not only from my action, but also from the action, inaction or negligence of others, through rules of play or the condition of the premises, or any equipment used and further, that there may be risks not known to me or not reasonably foreseeable. 2. I agree that prior to participating in any activity at the RMU Island Sports Center, I will inspect the competition area and all equipment to be used, and if, through my inspection, I determine that anything related to that activity is unsafe, I will immediately advise my coach or an official of the RMU Island Sports Center of this unsafe condition and will not participate until this condition is corrected. 3. I agree to assume all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for my own damages following such injury, permanent disability or death. 4. I release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue RMU Island Sports Center and all of its respective agents, affiliates, associates, officials, directors, owners and employees (collectively “releasees”) from demands, losses or damages on account of any injury, death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or part by releasees or any other party’s actions, inactions or otherwise; and agree to indemnify releasees from any and all third-party claims caused in whole or in part by my actions. I, the undersigned parent or legal guardian, have read the above waiver and release and agree to its terms on behalf of my child and myself. I understand that by signing below I am giving up substantial rights on behalf of my child and myself. If a skater is unable to attend due to proven, unforeseen medical condition, monies paid can be credited towards the tuition fee for another RMU Hockey Academy power skating or hockey skills program. The RMU Island Sports Center retains the right to terminate the participation of any player when it is deemed in the best interest of the game or team. Class times and dates are subject to change. There may be times when the scheduled instructor will miss a class. In that case, a qualified instructor will substitute or the class will be rescheduled.

The biggest improvement you canmake to your game is through skatingdevelopment. Steel Power’s in-seasonhockey-specific skating developmentalclasses will help you take your gameto the next level by developing theNo. 1 skill of the game.

Program FocusIn Steel Power, all of the basic hockey skating fundamentals are emphasized, solidified and intensified as the lessons progress into high-level skills, which incorporate agility, lateral movement, speed,acceleration, reaction time and maneuverability. This is not a learn toskate program. It is for designed for players who have passed learn toskate or learn to play hockey programs and that have a goodfoundation of basic skating skills.

On-Ice strength and conditioning drills that emphasize leg and corestrength, as well as flexibility, will challenge your discipline andcompetitiveness. You’ll be made more aware of your strengths, weak-nesses and personal progress. Ultimately, Steel Power will help you tounderstand and utilize better skating techniques for today’s game.

EquipmentFull equipment, stick and labeled water bottle are required for everyclass.

DiscountsIf two or more siblings register for the same session, a 10% discountwill be given to each registration after the first.

Players should register for this program based upon the following:

Group 1: Players born 2008-2011 Birth years, excluding those thatplay in RMU Tier 1 Mite Teams or Mite Red level teams from amateurorganizations.

Group 2: Players born 2006-2009 that play at the following levels:Squirt A Minor, Squirt B, House / Rec Players & RMU Mite Tier 1 orRed level mite teams from amateur organizations.

Group 3: Players born 2004-2007 playing at the following levels PeeWee A Minor, Pee Wee B, House / Rec, Squirt AAA, Squirt AA andSquirt A Major.

Group 4: Players born 2005-2002 playing at the following levels,Bantam, Pee Wee AAA, PW AA.

The instructor reserves the right to move your child to a different groupif she deems it to be in the best interest of your child or the program.

Make up Policy/Cancelation PolicyWe are unable to offer make-up sessions for any classes missed due to personal schedule conflicts including team practices. Players willnot be permitted to skate in any session or class other than what theyare enrolled for. In the event Marianne Watkins is unavailable for aclass, we reserve the right to substitute a qualified instructor to takeher place, or the class will be rescheduled.
