• Caesar was the dictator of the Roman republic.
• 75 BC - Caesar was elected military tribune
• 52 BC - took over Gaul
Marcus Brutus• Senator• He assassinated Julius
Caesar. • Brutus may have been
the Quintus Caepio who had been engaged to Julia, daughter of Julius Caesar, until Caesar broke the engagement a few days before the marriage in 59 B.C. in order to give her to Pompey.
Greatest achievements…Caeser
• Caesar is known to have never lost ever a single war.
• The Roman invasion of Britain in 55 B.C. was also one of the major achievements of Julius Caesar.
• He authored several comprehensive journals, providing all the details of his military campaigns, in volumes named as Commentaries He was given the title of Flamen Dialis and was chosen to be the high priest of Jupiter.
• He was the one who determined the calendar and suggested the science behind it He was one of the most important political and military leaders in the history of Rome. It was his efforts and determination that led to the eventual transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire He expanded Rome's control over even larger areas of ancient Europe. He would also win the distinction of being the first Roman to invade Britain

Their relationship…Caeser and Brutus
• Marcus Brutus, a servant and close friend to Caesar, has a strong relationship with Caesar but a stronger relationship with Rome and its people. Brutus is very close to Caesar.
• In Roman times, the only way for someone to get close to a person of high rank is if he/she is close to him/her. In many points of the play, Brutus was talking and next to Caesar. Brutus also loves Caesar but fears his power.
• In the early acts of the play, Brutus says to Cassius, "What means this shouting? I do fear the people do choose Caesar for their king...yet I love him well."

• Served as a military commander in Cilicia and Macedonia.
Caeser• While commanding an
army of 50,000 loyal men, Ceaser conquered much land for the Roman Empire
• He was the first commander to attempt to invade England
• From 48 B.C. on he used his loyal troops to kill political rivals

• Was seen as a cruel man by many because of his ruthless attempts to expand his power

• These two historical figures are very similar to Andrew Wiggin. All three of them are very independent, and not afraid to defend themselves in a dangerous situation.
