BIO www.stefanocagol.com Stefano Cagol (b. 1969 Trento, Italy) received a postdoctoral fellowship in Video Art from the Canadian Government at Ryerson University in Toronto, an MFA from the Accademia di Brera in Milan, and a BFA from the Istituto d’Arte Vittoria in Trento. Stefano Cagol’s artistic research faces the idea of border and its different manifestations: mental, physical, cultural, political, communicative ones, or between individual and collective. For doing this, he uses different media like video, photography, sculpture, installation, action. Portraits about his art research have been realized, among others, by: ‘Kunst Bulletin’, Zurich; ‘Contemporary’, London; ‘Eine’, Vienna; ‘Flash Art’, Milan; ‘Monopol’, Berlin. Following media spoke about his participation at 55th Venice Biennale in Maldives national Pavilion in 2013, among many others: The New York Times, BBC, Huffington Post, Rai Italian national television. Following editors published his monographs: Skira and Charta. Following collections, among others, hold his artworks: Museion. Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Bolzano, ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Mart – Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, Nomas Foundation, UniCredit Group, Terna. Grants and awards include RWE Foundation Visit (2014); Terna Prize 02 for Contemporary Art (2009), Rome; Targetti Light Art prize, Florence (2008); Murri Public Art prize, Bologna (2008). Shortlists include Art & Ecology International Artists Residency by RSA – Royal Society for Arts, London (2008); MapXXL mobility program by Pépinières Européennes pour Jeunes Artistes, Paris (2005).
