STYLE YOUR LIFE.

We get great joy out of designing

irresistible jewelry. And yet,

jewelry is just the tangible expression of

something much greater we are

creating. We have a vision of the world

where STRONG WOMEN LIVE BOLD and joyful lives.

They know what they want and

they work for it. They inspire each other.

Passion and joy are their best accessories.

TO GIVE EVERY WOMAN THE MEANS

TO STYLE HER OWN LIFE.

We are not in sales. We are in service. We love our customer and work to earn her love. We work even harder to deserve her continued devotion. We answer every email. We follow up on every phone call. We send a thank you

note. We surprise and delight at every turn. Exceedingly personal service is our signature. When we are faced with a challenge, we meet it by making a real, personal connection. When we truly listen to and serve our customer,

everything else follows. It’s not any harder than that.

Because in our mirror, we see people better than they even see themselves. In our mirror, people look at themselves and say, “Wow.”

wow is how

We are renovating the home-based business model for our times. We are a billion dollar global brand in the making. It might not look like it now, but we act like it now. We invest our hearts, our smarts, and our

unbending will to make it happen.

We are our only competitors. The way it’s always been done is never flattering on us. We create. We reinvent. We learn. We get more creative. We do it better next time. We make no excuses. We find a way.

Because we know that success is not predetermined for the exclusive few. Success is nothing more than getting up every single morning, rolling up our stylish sleeves and getting to work. And we make

no apologies about benefiting from the success we work so hard for. We are here to make a living. And a fabulous one at that. Our income gives us peace of mind, pays the bills, buys take-out when we’re busy, puts our kids

through college, and gives opportunities to many other women along the way. We’re proud of that.

Without each other, we have nothing. While we’re all about personal accomplishment, the heart of our business is our connection with each other. As a company inspired by and created for women, it comes with the territory.

Supporting each other is just how we do things.

We take each other as we come. We work together to make each other better than when we started. We keep it real. We keep it professional. And we lead by example. There is nothing we ask of others that we haven’t done

ourselves. We give more than we take.

Because we’re in it to make a difference, not only in our own lives, but in the lives of others.

We look around the world and understand that style is a life necessity, not a luxury. Each of us is a Stylist. This is not about what

we do. What we do is the black and white outline. It’s about how we do it. We color in everything and make it a masterpiece. We

approach everything creatively, passionately, with all we have. In everything, we see the opportunity to do it with style. Our work

here makes all of us more luminous. It starts from within and makes the world around us a more fabulous place to live.

Style makes people feel good. Style is important.

it’s you and me wear the joyNot many people can say they help people thrive for a living. Sharing the joy is our calling. We wear our hearts on our sleeves and

sincere smiles on our faces. We celebrate the ordinary things that make life extraordinary. Negativity cramps our style. We approach

everything we do with optimism and joie de vivre. We let it show.

We love what we do—with all the challenges, achievements, and growth that comes with it. And we throw one heck

of a Hoopla to celebrate our successes. Styling our lives makes us happy, so that we can best make the people we love happy.

It is our best gift to the world.

The inspiration for Stella & Dot came from my desire to come up with a better answer for women who asked me, “How do I start my own business?” While I loved being an entrepreneur, my work-all-the-time lifestyle at WeddingChannel.com wasn’t for most. And it didn’t work with the most important role in life I was about to take on: Mom. I didn’t have a good answer. Yet I knew today’s savvy women, the ones trying to balance it all, deserved one. So I set out on the journey to create a modern home-based business platform that would be the flexible, lucrative, and stylish answer to women ever ywhere.

A YEAR OF FIRSTS I devote nights and weekends to making jewelry, DIY jewelry kits, and a website from scratch. I test Trunk Show after Trunk Show; my first in March in Austin, Texas. My new company, Luxe Jewels, is created, and my first baby girl, Charlie, arrives.

OUT OF THE LIVING ROOM I ‘retire’ from my corporate career as ecom-merce exec to devote time to both of my new babies: Charlie and Luxe Jewels. Luxe becomes more stylish with the introduction of the Charmed Life & Penelope necklaces, created by celeb designer Maya Brenner, and our first Stylist-run Trunk Shows. Sales grow to $550,000 in ‘05. We get an office and move out of the living room.

READY TO RAMP IT UP!After the birth of my second daughter, Tatum, I am ready to go full speed ahead! With hundreds of Trunk Shows under our belts, we fine-tune a social selling concept and grow to $1 million in sales.

BUILDING A WORLD-CLASS TEAM In March, Mike Lohner becomes an investor and advisor. In August, I meet sales dynamo, Danielle Redner, key to expanding the business to Canada. In October, Blythe Harris becomes Chief Creative Officer and partner. Together, we rebrand Stella & Dot, after our beloved grand-mothers who paved our way! Sales double.

CREATING JOBSDespite a bad economy, Stella & Dot thrives—grow-ing over 760%, creating over 5,000 flexible careers in North America! Sales reach $33 million and our first Star Director, Lindsay Walsh, earns over $33,000 in one month!

THE WORD IS OUT The New York Times, InStyle, and Lucky magazines are all raving about the Stella & Dot revolution. Over 1,000 flexible professional careers for women have been created, and sales in the U.S. and Canada soar to $3.8 million.

OUR story

CONTINUED INNOVATIONWe make a big impact as we build schools in Nicaragua and raise over $120,000 for breast cancer research. We go global and launch in the UK. We thrive in North America, but still have only styled less than 1% of our target market.

THE BEST IS YET TO COMEWe surpass $100 million in Stylist earnings and ring the closing bell at NASDAQ in celebration of the progress we’ve made with the Stella & Dot Foundation. We’re recognized on the Inc 500 list as the 57th Fastest Growing Company. Launching in Germany, and with plans for continued international expansion, there’s never been a better time to be a Stella & Dot Stylist. Set your goals high — your potential for success is truly limitless. What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

WE ARE THRIVING Our growing Stylist force earns over $50 million in commissions helping others while they help themselves. We are ranked the 67th fastest grow-ing company in America by INC 500, and surpass $100 million in sales.

DAYS 1-4• Hop onto Stella & Dot University and tap into New Stylist Training. Find online training as well as live calls.

• Get set to get paid on Pay Portal! Look out for a Stella & Dot envelope to arrive separately in the mail.

• Order your samples using the recommended lists as a guide . Don’t worry, you’ll add more free during your Jumpstart!

• Do you have low-hanging-fruit Trunk Shows in mind — like with your mom, sister, or best friend? Just give them a call and set a

date. You don't even need to read the rest of this section to get those on the calendar!

• Create your Potential Hostess List (Who Do You Know List) that you can find on SDU.

• Set a date to host your own show within 12 days of signing up, and 7 days after samples have been ordered. You will enjoy both

commission and Style Rewards: that's why we call this your Double Dip Show. It may come first on the calendar, but be sure to

WITHIN YOUR FIRST WEEK• Plan to contact 10-20 people in one sitting. It takes much less time than you think. With every call comes additional confidence

and bookings. This completes your first Booking Blitz! Want some extra motivation? Join a Home Office Booking Blitz. Find times

on SDU.

• OPTIONAL: Attend an observation Trunk Show with your Sponsor or another local Stylist.

Why? Because you’ll invite those that say ‘no thanks’ to hosting as you go about booking 4 other shows. Let’s say you

spent 2 smart booking hours contacting 20 people an hour, for a total of 40 people . Of those you reach and follow

up with, you’re likely to get 4 yeses! So what to do with the 36 “nos,” “maybes,” or those you can’t get in touch with?

Invite them to your own debut show! Simply say, “Actually, I’m hosting a debut show at my house. Swing by and bring

a friend! I can’t wait for you to see this collection! It’s next week on Tuesday from 7-9pm. I’ll send you an invite.”

“I really want to do 2 shows a month on an ongoing basis. Should I still aim for 4 Trunk Shows to start out?” Why not earn the most free product? Adjust your pace after Jumpstart — but we find all Stylists are better off

getting out of the gate with momentum. That way they earn tons of free product and enhance their display. This

allows them to sell more at each show they do, and immediately increase their dollars per hour. After your first

Quick Start Bonus, or your first 60 days, you may decide fewer Trunk Shows are right for you, but we encourage

you to go for the free product while you can. After all, success looks gorgeous on you!

“I’m a bit nervous about calling up friends and family to book. I’m worried I’ll feel pushy. Can I get started with a group email blast about my launch?”

This is your business and you can run it any way you'd like. Our goal is to share with you the fastest and most

effective route to profitability and sustainable growth. Sending out mass emailswill not likely yield responses.

Reach out personally. That doesn't mean you shouldn't send out emails and post about your launch. It simply

means that you'll need to connect one on one and follow up after that to expect good things to come from it.

Sharing what you love is never pushy! Check out the Words to Say or role-play with your Sponsor. Thinking about

calling is often harder than just doing it.

“Does my Sponsor need to be at my first show with me?”

No! Having a show is simple and easy, and you have all the training you need in this guide and online. You don't need

to be great to get started, you need to get started to be great! If you'd like, observe a Stylist at one of her Trunk Shows.

paycheck will match your efforts. While you set your own schedule, you can expect your results to mirror your consistent efforts.

As a Stylist, you have two ways to earn and grow your Stella & Dot business.

1 COMMISSION ON PERSONAL SALES Base Commission on Personal Sales at Trunk Shows, in

person, or via your Personal Website – 25% of retail sales. That

jumps up to 30% when your personal retail sales are $2,308 or

more a month. There are some sales that offer lower commission.

Foundation line: 15% of retail. Little girls line: 15% of retail. Online

Orders referred by Corporate: 5% of retail.

2 COACHING COMMISSIONS ON TEAM SALES

From day one, you can earn 4% coaching commission on your

team’s total commissionable sales volume (Group Commissionable

Volume – GCV). This is simply the wholesale value of your retail

sales, or 65% of retail. To earn that commission, you must personally

sell a minimum of $770 retail (500 PCV) per month. Watch that

percentage grow all the way up to 18% on your first line (Stylists

you’ve personally recruited to your team) as you promote in Pay

Rank! You can earn on up to four lines of your team!

2 WAYS TO earn:

HOW TO earn

Personal commissions are paid weekly. Coaching commissions and volume rebates

are paid at the end of each month.

SHE FOUND A NEW BUSINESS AND A NEW LIFE! If you ask Star Stylist Melanie Hernquist of Atlanta to list

the 3 highlights of the past few years, she’ll tell you, in this

order:

1. Hoopla 2010 where she officially fell in love with Stella &

Dot.

2. Meeting her husband David through an online dating

site she paid for with her Stella & Dot earnings.

3. Earning enough income with Stella & Dot to downsize

her graphic design career and spend more time with 9-

year-old Zoe and new baby, Henry.

Why, you might ask, does Melanie list Stella & Dot as

love # 1 on her list of great loves? Because as she says,

Stella & Dot gave her the means and the confidence

to find the rest. That’s why Melanie now passionately

shares that Stella & Dot is every woman’s answer to

being fabulous; whether you are single, married,

divorced, working full time or part time. She should

know – she’s experienced all of these life stages in the

past 3 years and found her happiness in the process.

She could no longer keep it to herself, so in the spring of

2012, she made the decision to make sponsoring a habit.

The results of sharing with everyone, everywhere she

went, didn’t take long to show and Melanie promoted to

Senior Stylist in April. Then again to Star in June 2012.

Melanie, you wear your love of life on your sleeve and

we’re so glad that Stella & Dot helped you create your

own happiness. That’s what makes US happy too.

You (Stylist): Hey, Suzanne, it’s Stephanie! How are you? I sent you an email with a

Have you had a chance to look at it?

Suzanne (neighbor): I did, and you’re right, love it! That necklace is really cute.

Once you’ve offered the Trunk Show with confidence and ease, it’s normal to have your mom, sister, and best friend agree right away. But your other contacts may have a few more questions before they’re

ready to nail down a date.

Suzanne (neighbor): That sounds fun! Let me check my calendar and get back to you?

You (Stylist): Absolutely check your

calendar to figure out what’s going

to work best for you. But while we’re

here, let’s talk about what kind of

show you might like. When do you

normally get together with friends?

Weekend or weekday? Evenings or

daytime? Based on that, let’s pencil

in something tentative. I could do

a fun after-work happy hour on

Thursday the 20th, or a Saturday

midmorning brunch bites on the

22nd? Which one sounds more fun

to you? Let’s pencil it in so you can

check your calendar and run it by

your friends?

USE THE CONFIDENT CLOSE!If someone says, “Maybe I’ll host a Trunk Show, I’ll get back to you,” or, “I just need to check with my friends — I’ll let you know,” say: “We can do that, but I know you’ll find it simpler to find a date that works for your friends when you have a date to offer! Let’s pencil in something tentative — how about the 20th or 21st and I’ll call you to confirm?”

RUNWAY TO REALITY

WORDS TO SAY:bookHere’s your dream scenario. You say to a friendly prospective Hostess, “I’d like to have a Trunk Show for you and your friends.”

She replies, “YES, I will have 20 people at my house waiting to buy everything 3 days from now.” You say, “ OK, thanks. Bye!”

That doesn’t seem very realistic, does it? You are more often likely to hear, “ Sounds like fun, but I’m way too busy.” All Stylists

have to resist the urge to say, “That's okay, I understand.” Instead, you will learn how to have a booking conversation that

results in a yes or a referral!

Don’t think of her initial remarks or questions as obstacles or objections, but simply a start to a conversation that gets her

excited about a show. Help her see that it’s easy, her friends will love it, she can squeeze it into her life, and she’ll love all her new

free jewelry!

It’s amazing how quickly a “no” can turn into a “yes” with a confident conversation!

REALITY CHECK: NOT EVERYONE WILL SAY YES. PEOPLE WITH THE MOST BOOKINGS AREN’T GETTING ALL YESES, THEY ARE SIMPLY ASKING MORE PEOPLE.

Expect that 1 out of 10 people on your list will

say yes, so celebrate while you make your way

through that list! Those with a full calendar

didn’t get all yeses. They simply asked more

people! Give yourself achievable and small

goals and mini rewards along the way.

“I JUST DON’T DO HOME PARTIES”“I felt the same way! So you can imagine how fabulous Stella & Dot

must be to get me to change my mind and sign up to represent the

line! You have to check out the website. You and your friends will be

thrilled! Stella & Dot is in all the fashion magazines, but there is no

other way to see it and try it on!”

“I DON’T REALLY KNOW WHO TO INVITE”“I had no idea either, but when I sat down to make a list, I realized

there were lots of people I knew who would LOVE Stella & Dot. If I

could help you brainstorm a list, would you be interested?"

“WHAT IF PEOPLE CAN’T MAKE IT?”"Not everyone you invite will make it; people are busy! It’s perfectly

normal if only half the people attend the Trunk Show, and your Style

Event page will make it easy to collect orders from those who don’t

make it. You’ll be surprised how many orders you may have.”

“I’M TOO BUSY, MAYBE SOME OTHER TIME”“I understand! Who isn’t busy these days? That’s why I love our

‘swing by for style’ Trunk Show. It’s quick and easy, and over in

an hour or two. When do you normally get together with your

girlfriends? If we can plan a fun Style Event around that, would

you be interested?” If the concern remains, try to offer:

• “I love to handle all the invitations, so you don’t have to

worr y about that!”

• “We could do it in a conference room at your

office during lunchtime.”

example: I can’t have a Trunk Show — I don’t have enough friends that would come.

answer: “IF I COULD help you brainstorm a guest list, and let you know I love Trunk

Shows big and small, WOULD YOU be interested? I would love to do a Trunk Show for

you. It will be so fun!

PRACTICE HOW YOU'LL RESPOND TO THESE COMMON SCENARIOS

“MY FRIENDS DON’T HAVE MONEY TO SPEND”“Can you believe half of the line is under $50

($60 Canada)? It ’s style for a steal! Besides, great

accessories is a less expensive way to update a

wardrobe!” If she is still concerned…“There's no

pressure to buy! My goal is to share the style with

your friends and make it a fun event for ever yone!”

“BUT... MY FRIENDS JUST WENT TO A TRUNK SHOW” “Fantastic! I’m so excited that the word is getting out.

Once people hear about Stella & Dot, they know how

cute and affordable it is! I bet some of your friends

couldn’t make the other show, and some didn’t get

everything on their list, so they’ll come to yours. And

there are probably others you know and love who

have never been to a Stella & Dot Trunk Show — let’s

brainstorm a list.”

USE 'if I could, would you'

IN YOUR CONVERSATION

“Thanks so much. Let me know if you are ever in a ‘what

to wear’ dilemma; I can recommend some instant style

fixes and invite you to my next Trunk Show. By the way,

do you know anyone who would enjoy hosting a Trunk

Show or be interested in becoming a Stylist?”

If they really are saying no, no problem, ask for a referral.

If you’re feeling a bit nervous about asking – that’s okay! Practice a few times in the mirror, with your Sponsor, or listen to the

To really make the most of each Trunk Show, you’ll start incorporating the skills of the 10-3-2-1 found in the SELL section. You

can do this! Less thinking, more doing is a mantra we embrace – and you’re about to fully understand why when you see what can

happen by just asking at the Trunk Show.

PEOPLE CALLED HER CRAZY – AND SHE DID IT ANYWAY, ALL IN A TOWN OF 14,000Director Heather McLellan of Stony Plain, Alberta

had the ultimate job security as a teacher. When she

decided to quit 2 years ago to lead her growing Stella &

Dot team, people told her she was crazy. But if you ask

her, she’d tell you she’d do it all over again. And again.

And again!

“I quit my full-time job to pursue my dream of staying

home to raise my children and be present for them. In

the process, I found that I have another passion as well,

leading and mentoring other women to achieve the

freedom and happiness they deserve. I can say without

a doubt that I am doing what I was born to do.”

Heather launched her career by selling her baby rocking

chair to pay for her Starter Kit. She kept focused on her

goal and never gave up – something her dad taught her,

and it paid off in spades. Heather’s team is now almost

200 strong, and filled with women just like Heather

who see the promise of something different and bigger.

While others may call it crazy, Heather calls it smart.

She is not only happier than ever, but in many months

she has tripled her income from teaching. Heather

says, “This company has completely brought back my

optimism and my zest for life. I walk taller because of

Stella & Dot and so do the women I meet.” And Heather,

we walk a little taller because of you!

HOW TO EARN AN EXTRA $500 A MONTH WITH HOSTESS COACHINGWhen I first became a Stylist in August 2009, I kept wondering why my sales weren’t as high

as others. My average customer sale was the same, but it was attendance at Trunk Shows that

was my problem. I started to encourage my Hostess to build a big guest list, cross-invite (not

just her friends) and over-invite. Giving her a goal on guests and outside orders really helped

too. One year later, I looked at my sales from the past year and realized that I had doubled my

sales since I started embracing the concept of Hostess Coaching! My sales had increased by

$1,500 per month. SAR A CLEMENT, DIRECTOR

PERFECT OPENERS“How do you know our Hostess?”

“Have you ever been to a Stella & Dot Trunk Show before?”

“Oh! I know which piece would look great on you! Can I see it on?

Fabulous! Show everyone!”

“HI, I’M JANE WITH STELLA & DOT...So nice to meet you, Ellie. How do you know the Hostess? Great! I would

love to see you in the Gitane Necklace, it’s that gorgeous versatile piece

with the detachable tassel. Will you model it for me? Go ahead and play

with all the jewelry! I’ll give a quick overview on Stella & Dot in about 20

minutes once everyone has arrived. In the meantime, let me know if I can help

you find something you’ll love!”

GET TO KNOW YOUR GUESTS TO MAKE STYLING PERSONALPeople love it when you ask about them! Ask about their lifestyle and

style preferences. Get to know your guests’ needs with questions like:

“So, what do you do on a daily basis?

“When do you need to look more fabulous?”

“When was the last time you went to your closet and felt like you had

NOTHING to wear? Where were you going? Let’s start building a jewelry

wardrobe that solves that dilemma.”

"What gifts do you have coming up? Our charms make great gifts!"

HOSTESS HELP Ask your Hostess to model her

favorite pieces. Ask her in advance who she thinks

is likely to book a Trunk Show. Ask her to let guests know

it’s OK to try on the jewelry!

the TV in the family room, bring along a laptop, or get fancy with an iPad in the middle

LOVE YOUR group helloPractice your Group Hello beforehand so you feel authentic, genuine, and true to you! You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be warm and real — personable is far more important than polished! Don’t worry if you forget to cover everything you planned to cover. Each Group Hello can be different, and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to talk to guests.

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL TONIGHT? THE GROUP HELLO IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO ACHIEVE IT!

• Want to increase sales? Know and show versatility.• Want to Book more Trunk Shows? Plant great booking seeds.• Want to sponsor? Share your motivation with your guests.

The Group Hello is about connecting with guests and

making them feel comfortable — have fun with it! My

primary objective is to encourage everyone to experiment

and “go outside their comfort zone” by trying on things

they wouldn’t normally wear. I also always mention the

business opportunity, giving examples of why people

become Stylists (pay for family vacation, get out of the

house, pay down a credit card) and I tell them that I’ve

been paying my son’s college tuition bills. I’ve been very

fortunate to have some women take me up on my offer to

help them start their own business!

MAKE IT REL ATABLE!

DONNA CASALI

STAR ST YLIST, EAST WILSON, NY What I love most about the Group Hello is that your guests

don’t know about every detail...Once I realized the guests

were not keeping score, I relaxed and started doing them

more frequently and injecting more personality. I often

change it up to accommodate the mood of the crowd. I’ll

talk about trends or how to spruce up their wardrobe with

a versatile piece and afterwards people comment on my

expertise and how it converted them from just looking

into a buyer, and a Hostess!

help people check off their gift lists• Do you have any friends with upcoming birthdays this month or next? It might be nice to surprise them with a charm neck-

lace or one of our stackable bracelets — everyone loves them!

• Look at what is written inside our gift boxes (pick a box and read a tagline). Who doesn’t love that gift? There is even a hidden heart inside all of our packaging, because love goes into every piece!

• What would YOU love to get as a gift? I’ll be a little birdie that passes your wishlist along to a loved one.

• Have a lot of gifts to give in the near future? I’d love to hold a Trunk Show with you and help you earn them for free and at half price.

KEEP A RUNNING WISHLIST & BOOST SALES: Jot down pieces they use as gentle reminders at check out. Say,

" What’s your name again? OK, Alex, I’ll jot down pieces that catch your

eye and fill in the prices so you’ll know...” Then at checkout say, “These

are the looks you loved. I’ve also suggested pieces that will finish

your look. What do you think?” Whatever they don’t buy at that show

becomes the beginning of a Hostess wishlist. Or a reason for you to

call them later if an item goes on sale. You won’t be able to do this for

ever yone, but tr y it for a majority of guests. They ’ll love the ser vice.

When I’m styling my customers, I know that I’m going to work with them to find the

perfect piece to work with their existing wardrobe and style. But I also love to encourage

guests to try on looks that they would not normally see themselves in. Why not? There’s

no pressure to buy and it ends up making the night more interactive and fun. Oftentimes,

a guest who comes to me and says, “I only wear silver” will “experiment” and try on the

gold Chantilly Lace earrings and fall in love. My average sales at Trunk Shows are $1,500

and I know it’s partly due to encouraging guests to go outside their comfort zone

and try on lots of different styles!

Just because your Trunk Show is over doesn’t mean your opportunity has ended to provide stellar service to your Hostess, Trunk Show guests, and even those who couldn’t attend. In fact, this is a golden opportunity to utilize the 3, 2, 1 from the 10-3-2-1! It doesn’t benefit you to plant booking and sponsoring seeds if you never follow up! Plan to spend at least one hour following up the very next day!

PEOPLE TO CALL THE NEXT DAYYour HostessThank your Hostess for a wonderful Trunk Show! Recap her Style Rewards, and also mention what she could have earned as a Stylist. (See? You’re planting sponsoring seeds already!) Tell her why you think she would be a great Stylist, and simply ask her if she would like to explore how the Stylist opportunity could fit into her life! Many of our Hostesses surveyed said they’d consider the opportunity if asked! If she likes the idea, let her know that her friends could be her very own debut Hostesses, and they could earn Style Rewards too!

Prospective Hostesses Don’t let those Hostess Planners you passed out at the Trunk Show go to waste! Was there one guest that had a big wishlist, but couldn’t buy it all? Reach out, thank her for coming, and offer the Hostess opportunity and let her know what she can earn with Style Rewards. Follow up with any guests who seemed interested in hosting a Trunk Show, or if you penciled in a tentative date, call the next day to confirm or follow up! Remind her how she can earn that favorite piece for free with Style Rewards — and her friends will have just as much fun as she did.

Prospective StylistsYou gave out two Opportunity Brochures at the Trunk Show, right? To one or two guests who you noticed were styling their friends effortlessly? Those are guests who would make great Stylists! You just need to present this fantastic opportunity to them! Follow up with a call and simply ask what they thought of the information you gave them. Tell them why they stood out to you, answer any questions, and if they’re interested, set a date to chat in-person within a week.

Guests who couldn’t attendJust because someone couldn’t attend the Trunk Show doesn’t mean you can’t share the style! Follow up with guests who couldn’t make the Trunk Show and let them know they can still shop online. Offer the opportunity for them to host a Trunk Show too!

PEOPLE TO CALL WITHIN A WEEKTrunk Show GuestsThank her again for her order and be sure to ask how she likes her jewelry, and offer additional styling tips. Offer more ways to love Stella & Dot by either joining as a Stylist or hosting a Trunk Show.

FOLLOW UP TO BUILDrepeat business

I manage my Trunk Show follow-up by keeping a notebook with all of my order forms, adding

one order per page, and then organizing by Trunk Show. This helps me to track my follow-up calls

and write notes on each page. With my notebook, I stay organized in my follow-up and offer better

customer service. I write notes for each guest, so I can remember the guests and form a better rela-

tionship with them. This provides a great resource for booking too! I have had guests book a show a

year or 2 later, all from following up! Plus, I can take the notebook with me if I am traveling or working

outside the house. I follow up with my guests after they have received the jewelry and when a new

line comes out to book from scratch!

TRUNK SHOWS BIG & SMALLwe love them allHAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT? “I only do one show a month, and it was only $500…”Keep perspective to stay positive. In 2003, Jessica had her first Trunk Show, to

learn how to build a better business platform for today’s woman. In the years that

followed, she had $300, $500, and occasional $1,000 Trunk Shows. Since she

made all of the jewelry herself at that point, she poured tremendous time and

energy into each one. She had another full-time job and did 1-2 shows a month.

Without training or experience, she rarely booked a Trunk Show at a Trunk Show.

Was she disappointed? No! She was thrilled! As an entrepreneur, she knew she

had to stick with it and learn to grow. Most importantly, she had to stay positive

and never give up.

ONLY is simply not a word that belongs in front of $500. Frankly, it just doesn’t belong in front of Trunk Show and certainly not in front of anything you are accomplishing. With every ounce of effort you invest in

your business, you are growing, even if you don’t see it that day.

JESSICA HERRIN, FOUNDER & CEO

You likely met interesting people who will spread the word, give referrals, and shop or host in the future!

Who knows what that will lead to?

FOR YOU:• $125 in commission — 0ver $30 an hour* doing

something fun!

• $16+ in Business Supply Credits.

*Divide commission by 4 hours for prep and Trunk Show. Assumes volume rebate, 30% total commission. Compare that to the average hourly earnings for women in the U.S. with a bachelor’s degree — $17.62.

FOR YOUR HOSTESS:$100 in free product for having 5-8 people swing by for style. Plus she gets to shop our stylish line and pick 3 pieces

for 50% off!

FOR YOUR GUESTS:They shopped while they relaxed. They got personal service. Even if some didn’t buy, they will tell a friend about you and Stella & Dot. No pressure means brand building and future business for you! You spread the word to all those who could and could not attend. You can sell gifts and future fashion finds to these new customers.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOUR NEXT STYLIST WILL BE:

I had a Trunk Show booked with a guest who was expecting a larger turnout. She

called me a couple of days before to explain that it was going to be very small and

asked if we should postpone or cancel. I told her that I love Trunk Shows big AND

small, and we would still have a great time. While driving there I actually asked myself

if it was going to be worth it—but it sure was! There were only five guests, but it was a

fantastic Trunk Show! It didn’t have high sales, but I was able to spend more time with

each customer, and really help with their personal styling. It was very casual and fun,

and I had a lot of time to chat with each person—two signed up to be Stylists! Those

two are now part of my team and I adore them!

SHARE YOUR PASSION: I had one Trunk Show where I worked with the Hostess to improve attendance,

but only three guests were able to attend. The Hostess considered cancelling, but

I told her, “Let’s just have fun with our intimate group.” Because you never know!

Well, those three guests LOVED the jewelry and booked two more shows. The

other woman took a Look Book to work, and she picked up three more orders.

When I told the Hostess that she did in fact earn Style Rewards, she told me she

wanted to become a Stylist! Although she decided to wait until after her summer

wedding, she just booked another show with me for June. It goes to show, never

give up, take any opportunity to share your passion and fabulous accessories.

Good things will happen!

OFFER A TRUNK SHOW TO EVERY GUEST:Any Trunk Show where you’re in front of someone is a good Trunk Show.

They all further your business. I had a $280 Trunk Show with three guests,

one became a Stylist and two booked Trunk Shows. The important thing

is to book and prospect by habit—ask everyone! I tell every guest that I’d

love to do a Trunk Show for them. You don’t want anyone to feel left out!

WORDS TO SAY on the go

Mary (in line at Grocery Store): I love your necklace!

You (Stylist): Thanks! I sell this line — it’s Stella & Dot. Have you heard of us?

Mary: No, I haven’t, but it’s cute.

You: Let me give you this Mini Look Book. It has my info here — I’m Stephanie, by the way. Nice to meet you! I’d love you to see the full collection. Do you have a card?

Or, I'll send you a link. Type your email in my phone and I’ll send it to you!

Mary: Oh thanks… I’m Mary.

You: Our line is not only affordable, there’s really something there for every occasion and everyone! You know, Mary, if you love tons of pieces, we should chat about having a Trunk Show!

Mary: What’s that?

You: It’s what I do as a Stella & Dot Stylist. It’s even more fun to shop with your friends. I bring the jewelry over to your house and your friends can stop by and shop! Of course, I can always order this necklace for you now, too, if you just can’t wait! But it’s a blast to browse with friends, and my Hostesses end up earning tons of accessories free and shop at half off!

Mary: Fun — I’ll check out your website. Thanks!

You: Great. Thanks! Talk to you soon. So fun meeting you, Mary.

WHAT WILL YOU SAY WHEN SOMEONE COMPLIMENTS YOU?Practice your own natural 30-second commercial. Write it down and then record it. D0 you hear confidence

and fun in your voice? You've got it!

I love to take my jewelry with me to my daughter’s ballet class. I held a show for

one of the moms a few weeks before the summer line came out, so I brought the new

jewelry to show her and help her choose her Style Rewards. The great thing was that

all of the other moms went crazy over the jewelry as well and I sold $500 in jewelry

sitting on the floor at the ballet studio in about 30 minutes! They were all so thankful

that I helped them with teacher gifts and Mother’s Day presents. I have gotten many

new customers and Hostesses by taking my jewelry with me, on the go. I love helping

my customers with gift giving, so I usually take jewelry with me around holidays and

they always thank me for it! KELLIE STEEDMAN, DIRECTOR

THE CONFIDENT CLOSE WORKS IN SPONSORING TOO! If someone says, “I’ll think about it.” or “I just need to check with my husband — I’ll let you know,” say:“Sure, why don’t we just pencil in coffee this week — how about the 20th or 21st and I’ll call you to confirm?”Then, proceed with answering any questions about the Stylist opportunity — and don’t forget to call or text to confirm.TIP: Be intentional and use words like “when we meet for coffee.” It will make them comfortable and confident! Send them a link to the Our Story video before you meet for coffee, if you haven’t already.

WHAT YOU'LL HEAR

I just don't have the money to start.

I'm so busy - I can't fit this into my life.

I've never done anything like this before. I'm not a salesperson.

WHAT YOU'LL SAY

I know what you mean. If I could show you some ways to start economically and earn all kinds of free product, would you be interested?

I hear you! If I could show you how this really is designed to fit into a busy life, would you like to hear more?

I felt that way too! I'm not either. I think of myself as a buyer's assistant. Everyone loves help styling. If I could show you how it sells itself, would you be interested?

LOOK OUT FOR FUTURE STYLISTS EVERYWHERE YOU GOI always offer the opportunity to every Hostess! Hostesses love to entertain and the jewelry, so they are already a perfect fit. I also ask each guest about their career to get an idea what they are looking for both in jewelry and regards to the opportunity. On the go? I sponsored a new Stylist at the park! I was at the swing set with my daughter and started a conversation with the cute and stylish nanny next to me. Turns out she was a student, looking for extra income while she finished her degree. We planned to meet the following week for coffee and she signed up that day!

prospective Stylist to take a bit of time before she has made the decision to launch.

HOW GENTLE PERSISTENCE LED TO MY NEWEST STYLISTIn August 2011, my family went on a road trip. On our first day away, I treated the kids to lunch at

McDonald’s. Standing in line, a woman approached me, pointed at my necklace, and said, “Stella

& Dot, right?” For the next couple of minutes, we chatted about Stella & Dot, her great eye, and

whether she’d seen the new Look Book. I asked questions about her life, and summoned the

courage to offer her the Fall Look Book and a style session. I was so excited as I ran to my car

to grab a Look Book — I realized, stepping out of my comfort zone wasn’t so bad after all. We

exchanged contact information, and I promised to follow up, which I did within 48 hours. And she

responded! I felt so great about the connection — not only was she interested in hosting, but she

was also interested in the Stylist opportunity. But when I followed up again — nothing. No firm

date for the show, and no more discussion about the opportunity. Did I do something? Was it

something I said? I reached out in October, but still nothing. Four months later, in January,

I decided to reach out again. I dusted myself off, and sent an upbeat email about the new collection launching. She responded! She

thanked me for thinking of her! We set a date for a February Trunk Show, and I started my Hostess coaching. Two weeks before

her Trunk Show, I got an email: “Hey Abena, I was thinking of just signing up as a Stylist…let me know what you think!” Exactly 5

months later, the woman who complimented me on my necklace joined my team! I always keep a Look Book, a Mini, and a calendar

with me, even on the road. I finally realized, some people are ready to sign up yesterday, some in a couple of months or years, and

some never. My job is just to keep putting it out there!

HER STORYA DECISION TO MAKE E VERY DAY COUNT CRE ATES PERSONAL AND BUSINESS SUCCESS

California Star Stylist Jennifer Glava is a busy woman who gets things done. This mother of 2, former Mrs. California,

cancer survivor, and activist knows a thing or two about setting goals. That same determination that has helped her

succeed in life has helped her build a strong business. Jen promoted to Star Stylist in November 2010, and due to the

commitments of Mrs. California, she flexed to Senior Stylist the following year. She was happy, but knew more was in store

for her when the time was right. That time came in December 2011 when Jennifer attended a Leadership Training with

Jessica and left feeling inspired and empowered to put a plan together to regain her Star title. She led by example, booking

as many Trunk Shows as she could for January, and sponsored 2 new Stylists that month. She reached out, encouraged,

and celebrated her teammates. By February, Jen had put so much positive momentum into her business that she not

only achieved her highest sales month ever, but so did her team! Jennifer promoted back to Star Stylist within 60 days!

She made a goal, set a plan, believed in herself, and took action! It’s no surprise – having survived cancer in her 20s, she’s

determined to make every day count, and is true to her word. Jen says, “Stella & Dot has given me the last piece that I was

searching for, and that was finding something that I loved doing, that stood for everything that I believe in.” And we believe

Jen will accomplish anything she sets her mind to!

THEIR STORY FROM JENNY: Kelly and I were sorority

sisters! When my second child was just over a year old, I came across Stella & Dot and decided to sign up. I invited Kelly

to my first Trunk Show, and she immediately fell in love with the jewelr y and decided she had to tr y it for herself! From

the ver y star t, we worked closely together learning the business, sharing ideas, sharing successes, and challenging each

other. Shor tly af ter we signed up in March of 2009, we star ted hearing the buzz about Hoopla. We decided on a whim to

head to San Francisco together, and, if nothing else, we’d have a good time visiting the city, as we were still unsure of what

direction to take our businesses. Well, that weekend changed us both! We were so inspired, we were frantically taking and

comparing notes on the plane home and we decided we both wanted to turn this into full-time careers. Kelly was a college

professor and I was in real estate — we dropped those jobs and never looked back. While we are two totally dif ferent

people, we’ve built an amazing team in Virginia and beyond. Kelly is outgoing and charismatic, and I’m more quiet and shy.

The beauty of our dynamic is that our team gets trained on both of our styles, and most likely can relate to one of us! Kelly

is so inspiring and motivational, where I have streng ths in the business side of things — it ’s really the per fect balance!

Had we not jumped into this together, I don’t think either one of us would have attended that first Hoopla alone, and our

businesses wouldn’t be where they are today. We are like business par tners in this, and I can’t imagine doing it without her.

It really is SO much better with a friend!

THEIR STORY FROM KELLY: Jenny actually talked me into that first Hoopla — but it ’s true, af ter that, we

were hooked! While Jenny flew through the Career Levels, I was happy at Star Stylist…But watching her, I became inspired

and challenged to achieve more. Jenny set the pace and I just did ever y thing I could to keep up! She is an amazing Leader,

and I’m so glad we’re on this adventure together!

JULIE LENOARD & SUZANNE KLINGEMANNWILDWOOD, MO & ST. LOUIS, MO

SISTERS JULIE LENOARD, DIRECTOR & SUZANNE KLINGEMANN, STAR ST YLIST, Wildwood, MO & St. Louis, MO

JULIE’S GOAL: I wanted to help my family pay off high medical bills from

when my son, Grant, had an extended stay at Children's Hospital... Almost done!

SUZANNE’S GOAL: Originally, my motivation was to get out of the minivan

I had been driving for 9 years! My husband told me that if I could pay for a new car with

my Stella & Dot money, then I could get a new car! I did just that, bought my Infiniti

QX56! Now, my motivation has changed to helping my family purchase a new home.

THEIR STORY: When we went to our first Stella & Dot Trunk Show in November 2009, we were immediately in love

with the jewelry! After talking with our amazing sponsor, Tysh Mefferd, we both signed up as Stylists the next day and haven't

looked back since. We have been true partners from day one. We talk several times a day about our businesses, our teams, and

our strategy to grow the St. Louis market!

SISTERS- IN-LAW KELIE ERNST, STAR ST YLIST & AMANDA

ERNST, SENIOR ST YLIST, Day ton, OH & Troy, OH

KELIE’S GOAL: To end my law practice and spend more time with my

toddler son and new baby due in December 2012!

AMANDA’S GOAL: I take care of my family and two adults with

disabilities, and when doing that, no matter how much you love it, it’s easy to

lose yourself. I lost my body image, my sense of style, my personal interests and

my social life. My motivation is to maintain my sense of self and all that entails.

Plus, the commission is a REALLY nice bonus!

THEIR STORY FROM KELIE: Having my sister-in-law, Amanda, join me on this amazing ride is just incredible.

She joined Stella & Dot about a month after I did, so we’ve been able to share this experience together from the beginning.

It’s brought us closer together, and it’s greatly benefited both of our businesses. Amanda has been my go-to person

to share ideas, troubleshoot issues, and vent when things didn’t go as planned. We’ve been able to push each other to

succeed in ways others can’t. I’m happy to say that my business is where it is today because of the support Amanda has

provided me — I can’t wait to see where Stella & Dot takes us!

THEIR STORY FROM AMANDA: Something was just missing for me—and then my sister-in-law, Kelie,

started selling Stella & Dot. Having Kelie running her Stella & Dot business beside me has brought us closer together as

sisters. We both now share something we are passionate about, and it’s awesome to call her up whenever to talk about the

highs and the lows.

FULFILLING THE FAMILY DREAM IS JUST THE START!For Texan Senior Director, Christy Goodman, Halloween 2008 was the day she joined Stella & Dot and began the 2nd chapter

of her life, which would include a new career and a new home in a new city. Within six months, her full-time, high-stress

pharmaceutical sales job would be replaced by Stella & Dot and within three years, her family of four would follow their dream

of moving from Dallas to Austin, which included moving her husband’s law practice.

And yet fulfilling those two HUGE goals was just the beginning. In a new community where she knew no one, Christy used

her Stella & Dot business to make new friends, and a year later she has built a thriving business with an exploding team of

incredible women. Her team has grown to over 600 women all across the U.S. and now in the UK. She’s earned incentive trips

to Mexico, a shopping spree with a celebrity stylist, the opportunity to be a part of the closing ceremony at NASDAQ, and

achieved one of her proudest moments— by having the Palomino Necklace named after her Cuban grandmother.

If you ask Christy how she’s done it, she’ll tell you day by day & relationship by relationship. Maybe she learned that from big

sister Tysh and little sister Ali – it’s about the people, and that’s what Christy loves more than anything.

Chapter three of this amazing journey may very well begin with her goal of Star Director by the end of 2012, and we can’t wait

to read every single page.

HOW ONE GREAT STAR LIVES, LOVES, AND THRIVES WITH STELLA & DOT In August 2010, Kimber had a revelation that most take

a lifetime to learn. With her twin sons growing up and

getting ready to start their own families, her husband

of 30 years recently retired, Kimber paused to think

about her choices. Although she already had a full-time

job, it was just that… a job. With her family moving on to

their next stages in life, she thought to herself, “If I want

to work, why wouldn’t I do something that I truly love?”

And then she saw the jewels. Immediately, Kimber was

in love – the accessories, the design, the quality! Kimber

signed up to be a Stylist and jumped straight to the top

of the sales charts. “And yet, the more I learned about

the business, I realized, the jewelry is just the icing on

the cake.” Leadership was the next logical step. “When

you are passionate about something, the feeling is

contagious.” By sharing her love for the business,

Kimber has built a strong team that she mentors with

personal coaching to help them achieve each of their

unique goals. And in doing so, Kimber earned a trip

to Atlantis, picked up her Heart of Leadership charm

this year at Hoopla, and paid for a new car using her

Blue Card. Her plan for the rest of 2012: “To financially

contribute to both of my sons’ upcoming weddings,

remodel my home, and enjoy my life with my wonderful

family!” And we have no doubt the best is yet to come.

3 TIPS FORstaying consistent in sales

2MUCH OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW, YOU LE ARNED IN JUMPSTART... BOOK, SELL, SPONSOR. The in-home Trunk

Show will always be the heart of your business.

Never worry about just getting back to basics with your Who

Do You Know List. Each Trunk Show you hold will lead to future

success. At each show, you’ll meet new people. The number of

new people you meet will give you new connections to future

Hostesses. This will also help you find new customers and

Stylists, as well as other connectors.

ALWAYS EXPAND YOUR SOCIAL NETWORK & SERVE YOUR CUSTOMERS . You’ll love building the relationship

that delights your customers and leads to repeat orders.

While repeat customers are fabulous, you’ll also want to

always be seeking new customers and Hostesses by always

getting out and about and meeting new people to share your

business with. Think of your Who Do You

Know List as a living document you

need to feed and nurture!

MASTER YOUR TIME TO LOVE YOUR LIFE.A manageable schedule is key to maintaining consistency and balancing your life! Keep an activity log

so you can accurately assess how you spend your time. Continue the same or increased effort on your

personal business, focusing on the Circle of Success: Book, Sell, Sponsor.

SET MONTHLY GOALS FOR: 4 person-to-person orders and 4 on-the-go orders each month!

3

Have I allocated enough scheduled, uninterrupted hours in the week to do my business effectively?

Do I need to plan ahead for any vacations, schedule conflicts with my other job, school breaks, or

changes in childcare?

When I sit down to work on my business, do I perform the highest-impact tasks first (booking) or do I allow

my inbox or Facebook to guide me?

Have I shared my goals with my support system (family and friends) and are they on board with the

time investment this will require?

Am I willing to allow certain tasks, clubs, and responsibilities to move down the priority list to

make room for my business?

ASK YOURSELF:

SET YOUR FLEX WORK SCHEDULE TO ALIGN WITH BOTH YOUR LIFEST YLE DESIRES AND YOUR INCOME GOALS

Set your sights on the compensation you desire, and align it

with what you are willing to consistently work for.

IT’S UP TO YOU AND THE WORK YOU DOHere’s the great news - it’s not about your circumstances, past experiences, or your pedigrees. Rather, it’s your choice to truly ‘show up’ for your business every day and take consistent action to create the life and business you want for yourself. In fact, do you know what I love about launching with Stella & Dot? It’s the ultimate meritocracy. Each person has the same tools and products available to share. There is no mystery or politics involved in how to promote. It’s the same compensation plan for all. Everyone starts with the same Starter Kit and it’s up to him or her to build their business. The success plan is simple: Book, Sell, Sponsor. Be consistent and celebrate those with whom you work! It takes work to make it work, but the work it takes is clear. In a time when women still earn 77 cents on the dollar to men for the same work and getting promoted or recognized in a ‘regular job’ too often depends on chance, it’s refreshing to be truly in

control of what you do.

CONFIDENCE COUNTS, PASSION MAKES IT HAPPENI admit, when I started doing this, I was hesitant to tell the world about my vision for Stella & Dot. I knew this industry had to be reinvented for the same reason I was sheepish about telling people what I was up to. It had an ‘ick factor’ to me. And, even though I had started another business, who was I to think I knew what to do in this space? Would people think I had gone nuts? I had to get over it. Only when I started to be loud and proud about what I was doing did I start to get traction and build success. The thing is, I thought it was icky because of ho-hum products and outdated selling methods. But we changed that and so much more. We have a WOW product and experience. We are a people company with incredible fashion, innovation, and opportunity to share. That really is something to be proud of.

It’s tempting to start out telling people your new business is “just this little thing I’m trying” so you won’t feel silly if it doesn’t work out. But if you are too timid, your own self-doubt gets in the way of your success. Wouldn’t you rather be the person that has some fun, takes herself less seriously, and sets herself up for success? Don’t you want to say you’re willing to try things you haven’t before—even if you’re scared ? Isn’t the only way you can truly NOT be a fool is to not be afraid of looking like one every now and then? So ask yourself this... Do I truly OWN my own business by just owning it when I tell people about it? Do I convey a sense of fun, adventure, and passion? Try that on for size. It works.

TIME MASTERY MATTERSIt’s not just how much time you spend… it’s the quality. Setting up your display at home is fun, but it doesn’t book shows! Be disciplined about the time you spend on Facebook vs. the time you spend on business-building activities like a Booking Blitz or simply connecting with people. Wonder how you are doing? Track it! Do you have too much fluff? Simply shift your focus.

what it takes TO THRIVE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR WITH STELLA & DOT

Page 97: Stella & Dot Stylist Guide US Fall 2012

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

get started, DON’T QUIT.

BE TENACIOUS, TAKE ACTIONLike most things in life, you have to stick with it to get good at it. Not everything works out as you’d like 100% of the time. Having both optimistic and realistic views of your business will serve you well as an entrepreneur! If you don’t have all the Trunk Shows you’d like, track how many people you are personally connecting with to book. Is it 10 to 1? If not, focus on maintaining your confidence and enthusiasm past your first 9 nos. Too easily, people spend time thinking about who to book with, or fretting a few nos, rather than JUST DOING IT! Less thinking, more doing! Remember, even the most successful people encounter obstacles and get discouraged. They don’t feel less down than everyone else, they simply perk themselves back up quicker, and more often.

EMBR ACE SHARING OUR FLEXIBLE OPPORTUNIT YWith Stella & Dot, you can decide if you want to lead a team - it’s up to you! Layering your business with coaching commissions is

the best way to grow your income. Start small and grow it bigger if you’d like to earn more. If you do lead a team, you will motivate,

not manage your Stylists. You control your income, not because you decide if and when your team has Trunk Shows, but because

you control how many Trunk Shows you do so you can sponsor by habit and continually grow and maintain your team. Because

of our low cost of entry and easy to ‘try on’ opportunity, you’ll find some people decide it’s not right for them. Others flex in and

out of the business based on other life priorities because flexibility is what we offer! While it only takes 1 Trunk Show most weeks

to maintain the Star Stylist level, you should not expect to earn thousands of dollars a month in income from Stella & Dot if your

‘store’ is not open for business at least 3 selling hours per week and you are not consistently sponsoring.

HAVE FUN WITH IT!We are in the happiness business. Isn’t that fantastic?! Never lose the fun and delight. While we work hard and we are quite serious

about being great, too much intensity shuts you down and turns others off. Always keep your sense of humor about you. That

way, when you have an event that is a total bust, you just laugh your way through it and move on! Be wacky, be authentic, be you.

PERFECTION IS NOT REAL , NOW IS A GOOD TIMEDon’t wait for the train that’s never coming. You won’t feel 100% sure about what to say to book that show, you’ll never feel

perfectly ready to sponsor because you know everything, nor will you always have a perfect show. So kick back, relax, and just get

started. The best version of your life is not created by big bursts of perfection. Rather, it is the little actions you take every day. It is

the commitment to effort and improvement. SAID SIMPLY, TO BE SUCCESSFUL, IT’S JUST TWO THINGS:

Together we will create something grand that helps women thrive around the world. You can tell I’ve gotten over being sheepish

about what Stella & Dot is destined to become. I believe with every ounce of me that what we are building is fundamentally

important for women and needs to exist. We will always have our hearts and our minds in the right place—serving the success

of each Stylist. The question to ask yourself is what role do you want to play in that? I do know this: If you truly come along on this

adventure, it will be one heck of a ride!

“It’s not what you look at that matters. It’s what you see.” That’s what a wise business

school professor once said to me. It’s the advice that led me to join your amazing

CEO on this adventure that has become Stella & Dot. And perhaps it is advice worth

passing on to you.

One day I got a call from someone in my business school alumni network who wanted

to see if I would share some industry knowledge. She tracked me down because I

have been blessed with a fulfilling career in traditional direct sales, and had most

recently been the President of a billion-dollar party plan company. After an hour of

conversation, she told me she was getting on a plane to see me. Sure enough, Jessica

Herrin showed up the very next day. She had built a small business out of her living

room, but she had big dreams. She told me she was a new mom whose priority was

running this business around her family, so she wanted my help. In fact, she couldn’t

pay me, but she instead was going to allow me to invest. I said yes. Why? Because

when I looked at her, I didn’t look at a small business. I didn’t look at the risk of losing

my investment. I saw her innovative vision that I knew to be right for our time. I saw

someone that will change the world. I believed.

When I look at you, our Stylists, I see the same thing. I have had the privilege of watching you launch your business. I’ve seen you make friends

across the nation and across the world. I’ve seen you supplement the family finances in a flexible way. I’ve seen you grow a six-figure income

and I’ve seen you triple it. I believe and know that there’s so much more to come. You see, the company I ran was over 25 years old when I got

there. During the decade I was there, I saw people join and build million-dollar incomes while others quit. What was the difference? Years of

experience has taught me it’s not your education, your ethnicity, or your household income. It’s not the way you look, it’s not where you live, or

even when you join. It’s what you see when you look at what your business can be.

At Stella & Dot, your opportunity is whatever you believe it to be. If you see it, if you believe it, you can achieve it. No dream is too big, no goal

unattainable. You write your own story. So when you look at Stella & Dot, I hope you see a game-changing, global, social-selling fashion brand

that is revolutionizing entrepreneurial opportunities for women. I hope you see Jessica’s vision and leadership flanked by a truly world-class

team. I hope you see that we really are TINY today compared to what we will be. Most importantly, I hope you see the good you do in a world

that is desperately seeking good. You do good for your families, your friends, your customers, yourselves, and even the people you just met

five minutes ago! And that makes you extraordinary.

Whether you are just having your first show, or a veteran leader, whether you are here simply to be part of a special and fun community or to

build a full-time business that provides for your family, whether you see new freedoms, new horizons, or new adventures, it’s all within your

reach. One thing is certain: There are a whole lot of people at Stella & Dot who believe in you. And if we all believe in you, then here’s hoping that

you will believe (and if you are going to believe, then you might as well believe BIG!) in you, too!

WITH MUCH LOVE,

IT’ S NOT WHAT YOU LOOK ATit’s what you see...

Post your schedule and treat it like a business—because it is

will you do it? Commit to your tasks now, and schedule them in

to ensure they get done.

HERE’S HOW I GOT THEM ON BOARD:

• We set family goals. My 3 children, my husband, and I sat down and talked about what each of us would most like out of the

next few years and came together on a few common goals. Our first big goal was working toward earning a new car, then

an iPad, and then the trip to Atlantis. Talking about it and imagining it as a family grew the excitement.

• We divided the tasks. From my kids loading my car for Trunk Shows to my husband taking over grocer y shopping and

other small household tasks, this freed up time for me to focus on high-dollar activities – booking, selling, and sponsoring.

• We held each other accountable! There is nothing like coming in the door and having your kids ask you how the Trunk

Show went and how much closer we are to our goal.

• We celebrated! Whenever we reach a goal, we stop, congratulate each other and make a big deal about it!

Including them in my business has been key to our happiness and success. In fact, now they do more! My kids ask for tasks

and my husband Jon just retired from his career as general counsel of a software company to join me in our Stella & Dot

business.

Whether your family business means simply sharing your goals with those you love or truly working together, the rewards

are plentiful, and the sharing – well, that ’s just priceless.

When I think of the last few years with Stella & Dot, I am

excited by all that has happened, and all that is still to

come for our entire family. Getting my family on board

has been key in creating my dream job. My children

are so proud of what their mom has accomplished

and they ’ve learned that if you are willing to put in

the effort, you can do any thing. For me, our success

with Stella & Dot has not been about the things we can

as a family. They weren’t always so supportive. In fact,

initially my husband wasn’t so sure.

BALANCE DISCIPLINE AND FOCUS WITH FREE TIME TO RESTORE YOUR CREATIVITY

AND ENERGY. HOWEVER, ACCEPT THAT DISCIPLINE, DOING THE THINGS YOU

SHOULD DO EVEN WHEN YOU DON’T WANT TO, IS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS.

KEEP YOUR PERSONAL ENERGY HIGH BY GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP, EXERCISE,

AND STRIVING FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE. LISTEN TO GREAT MUSIC, DANCE,

AND LAUGH OFTEN.

BE OKAY KNOWING YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE THINGS LEFT UNDONE. SIMPLY AIM TO

MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR MOST IMPORTANT THINGS.

MINIMIZE TIME TRAPS THAT ARE HIGH EFFORT BUT LOW REWARDS. TRACK YOUR TIME AND EVALUATE

HOW MUCH YOU SPEND ON TRUE BUSINESS-BUILDING ACTIVITIES VS. TEMPTING TIME WASTERS.

CREATE TIME BY GETTING HELP WITH TASKS THAT DON’T NECESSARILY NEED YOUR SKILLS OR

PERSONALITY. IF YOU CAN MAKE MORE BY BOOKING A SHOW IN AN HOUR THAN CLEANING YOUR HOUSE,

WHY NOT OUTSOURCE THAT?

SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE BY DOING SIMILAR ACTIVITIES TOGETHER. PLAN AND COOK AHEAD ON WEEKENDS,

SHOP ALL AT ONCE, AND PAY BILLS IN ONE SITTING.

BE PRESENT. WHEN YOU ARE WITH YOUR FAMILY, AVOID TECHNOLOGY. AND WHEN YOU’RE WORKING,

FOCUS ON WORK.

IF YOU ARE HOME WITH KIDS MOST DAYS, SWAP PLAY DATES WITH OTHER MOMS. YOUR KIDS HAVE FUN,

YOU GET UNINTERRUPTED WORK TIME, AND EVERYONE WINS.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE. NEGATIVITY AND WORRY WILL NOT MOVE YOUR LIFE

5 TIPS FOR TIME MASTERY

BOOK TRUNK SHOWS AT TRUNK SHOWS

Mastering this skill will save you more time than anything else you can do! Plant booking seeds with your guests as you style them throughout the show. Then follow up during checkout chat or within the next few days to confirm the date.

1

FIND BLOCKS OF TIME FOR YOUR BUSINESS

One hour is much more efficient than two 30-minute blocks. If you have young children, block this time when you know they are busy or when you can get a sitter! Set this time aside to work at your desk, and start with your personal business first!

2

SYNC YOUR PERSONAL , WORK, AND TRUNK SHOW CALENDAR WITH YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER

Your family will be aware of where you’ll be, less time

coordinating in the home!

4

MANAGE YOUR PHONE CALLS WISELY AND STAY ON TR ACK.

Keep team calls concise and efficient. Schedule all calls to match your agenda and avoid losing focus with chitchat. This will also ensure you won’t take up the time you set aside for booking or follow-up!

3

KEEP YOUR EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE ORGANIZED

All Booking, Sponsoring, Hostess Coaching emails and correspondence should be saved and organized so you have templates for everything! Then, each time you reach out to a potential Stylist or Hostess, you won’t be starting from scratch!

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

HOW DOCTOR, WIFE, AND MOTHER OF 3, LYLA PRATHER, MAKES TIME TO BE A STAR STYLIST I needed ME time to recharge and Stella & Dot provides that. You’re no good to others when you

haven’t taken the time to take care of yourself and what fills your tank. Now, I come home happier,

more relaxed, recharged, and ready to engage with my family. Knowing that my business pays

for my kids’ tuition and that I can mentor other women toward the same success , it reminds

me that this job is about personal fulfillment, freedom, and empowerment for me and for other

women too.

I don’t let opportunities get away from me too often. I am ready to talk about the business to

anyone, and plant seeds wherever I go. I’m conscious about being efficient at booking Trunk

Shows at Trunk Shows because that really is the best time to do it, and often the only time I can

predictably have in front of a potential customer/Hostess/Stylist. I don’t have extra time in my

day to have set office hours due to my busy schedule as a doctor, so I often book and prospect

on the fly, and follow up on Facebook and email late at night to finalize any outstanding dates. As

a result, I have been able to keep up a 6-8 Trunk Show/month schedule. You work with the time

you’ve got, and if you’re determined to succeed, you’re genuine about your business, and you

put other people first, you can succeed with any “crazy-busy” schedule.

HOW THIS IMPROVES YOUR BUSINESS I think that people know that

I am busy, and that my dates

go quickly. By creating that

sense of urgency in your

business, you not only drive

yourself to book your dates

but create an urgency with

your potential Hostesses that

they want to be a part of it, as

well as a sense of frenetic fun

that people are drawn to and

want to be a part of.

A retail outlet includes a kiosk in a mall, boutique, grocer y stores, and flea markets. Stylists may leave a flyer or Look Books in non-retail establishments, such as doctors’ offices, provided the intent is to attract par ticipants to a home Trunk Show, not to sell. You may only conduct a typical Trunk Show at the same retail location (such as a restaurant) once ever y 3 months, and no more than 4 times a year.

Can I sell to retail? We do not allow Stylists to set up a permanent

retail display and sell Stella & Dot products in

a retail environment. They are intended to be

sold at an in-home Trunk Show or online in your

e-boutique.

How do I track my earnings?

Orders count when submitted. Orders count for the month in which they are submitted, and are not based on the Trunk Show being open or closed by Style Rewards or when the order is shipped.

Activity Repor ts. In the Month-to-Date (MTD) Summar y sec-tion, the Activity Repor ts are near real time. As orders are added, you see them listed with their Personal Retail Volume (PRV ) and commission. The MTD Summar y section has running MTD PCV (Personal Commissionable Volume) and GCV (Group Commis-sionable Volume) info.

Log in to your Stylist Lounge to get a quick glimpse

of your sales for the month. Find detailed informa-

tion on your month-to-date earnings by viewing your

Activity Repor t under Repor ts.

What credit cards are accepted?

MasterCard, Visa, American Express

are all accepted.

What if a guest wants to pay by cash or check?

QA

QA

All Trunk Show orders must be entered online.

If a guest pays by cash or check, they pay you

and then you use your personal card to charge the

order at retail. We recommend that you use a separate

credit card for easy accounting.

QA

QA

Example: If you hold a Trunk Show in Oregon, which has no sales tax, but have the Trunk Show order shipped to an ad-dress in Idaho, which has a tax rate of 6%, you will be charged 6% tax on your entire order.

How do I calculatesales tax?

Find the sales tax lookup tool in the Stylist

Lounge/ My Business/ Look Up Tax Rates.

Most states require tax to be paid on shipping and

Hostess Rewards credits. Please use this char t to

look up any state exceptions. State exceptions can

also be found on the order form.

QA

Are there order requirements?There are no order requirements to be a Stylist;

however, there are PCV requirements to maintain

your Career Rank and to earn commissions on your team.

See the Compensation Plan in your Stylist Lounge for

more information.

What tax form do I need?U.S. Stylists who earn $600 or more in commis-

$599.99 or less, you will not receive a 1099. Canadian

Stylists who earn $500 or more in commissions and/or

bonuses will receive a T4A form.

QA

Can I collect Style Rewards?

The success of your business depends on sharing the

Hostess opportunity with others so that they

can help you acquire new customers beyond your imme-

diate reach. You can host as many Trunk Shows as you like

throughout the year, but you can only collect Style Rewards

twice per calendar year.

QAPlease call your Sponsor or her Sponsor first with

all questions. This is key in supporting our lucrative

coaching commission structure. For questions your Spon-

sor or her leadership team cannot answer, our Customer

Care agents can help. They can help resolve order questions

or any system-related issues and are now available via

online chat.

When should I contact Customer Care?Q

A

Should I open a separate checking account?

It’s a good idea to set up a separate checking

account exclusively for your Stella & Dot busi-

ness. Secure a debit card for your account. All Stella & Dot

income should go into that account and you should pay all

Stella & Dot expenses out of that account. It is impor tant

NOT to comingle funds. This will allow you to track your

business expenses and follow your financial progress.

Check with a financial professional for more information

on setting up your business.

LEAVE THE GATE RUNNING You don’t want to play catch-up at the last minute. Start strong and set your goals high in the first few months. This way, if you have unforeseen events that affect your progress, you’ll have plenty of time to make up the difference.

REVIEW THE REQUIREMENTS Break them down into smaller, achievable monthly or weekly goals. For example, if earning your goal level means selling $12,000, make it a 6-month goal to sell at least $2,000 per month.

What do you love about your favorite local boutique? The style! When do you want to pop back in? To pick up something

NEW! If the style was always the same, you’d grow tired of the assortment and that poor boutique’s business would

dwindle. This allows us to focus on seasonally relevant styles in our assortment. Plus, if we never retired popular styles,

our line would feel stale, and your customers would learn they didn’t need to have any sense of urgency to buy now.

TIPS ON REFRESHING YOUR DISPLAY:

• Have an end-of-season Sample Sale. Offer your gently worn samples to your customers at 50% off.

You can recoup your investment and reinvest in the new line!

• Hold a Hostess Appreciation Event with all of your past Hostesses at a line launch and incorporate it

with your end-of-season Sample Sale.

• Consider putting your retired samples on a special tray at your Trunk Shows and use them as booking

incentives to your customers! “Book a Trunk Show and take a piece from this tray free!”

• Use Product Credits for new samples and replacement samples: The Product Credits you accumulate with

your Jumpstart program and Flash Incentives can be applied to the retail value of new samples.

ARE THE EARRING WIRES HYPOALLERGENIC, LEAD AND NICKEL SAFE?Yes! The majority of our earwires are sterling silver or gold vermeil. Posts are either sterling silver or surgical steel.

WHAT IS STERLING SILVER?We use the highest quality of .925 sterling silver, a silver and copper alloy that enhances streng th and durability.

WHAT CAUSES SILVER TO TARNISH?The copper content in silver reacts with the air and results in tarnishing. A few common culprits include: perfume, lotion, hairspray, cosmetics, humidity, and even human contact.

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO SAFELY REMOVE TARNISH?Purchase our polishing cloth and follow enclosed instructions. Check the business supplies section online to order our Stella & Dot polishing cloth.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO KEEP JEWELRY LOOKING NEW?3 QUICK RULES• Always last on, first off. • Seal and store in airtight plastic bags. (Never keep jewelry in

the bathroom—humidity is the enemy!)• Keep dr y. (Never bathe in or spray per fume

on your jewelr y.)

shipping WITH GIFT PACK AGINGWe offer speedy service and affordable rates.

HOW ONLY A 2% RETURN RATE CAN LEAD TO 1 AVERAGE RETURN PER SHOWreturn FAQsOur overall quality-driven return rate is 2% versus the industry standard of 8%-10%! That’s less than 1/4 of the rate at fine

department stores, and lower than or equal to other direct-selling jewelry companies! Our overall return rate based on

increasing ecommerce sales is about 5%. That means 1 in 20 units will come back. Given the average guest will order over 2 items

per order, that means you will get about 1 return per 10 guests at a show. About half of those returns will be due to a quality issue,

the other half will be standard reasons that drive all returns, such as they simply changed their mind or it didn’t fit or work with the

outfit they bought it for. With great customer service, you can turn many returns into an exchange and even a future booking!

Can I feel confident in a piece even if I hear it broke for customers of other Stylists?Yes. Take a look at the numbers. If we have a 2% breakage rate, that means 2 out of a 100 items shipped will have issues. Why?

Despite our rigorous quality testing and review process, chains, stones, and pave settings are inherently delicate and handmade.

2% is fantastic in our category! However, 2% does mean that if a Stylist has 30-50 customers a month, each buying an average of

over 2 units each, she is selling 100 units per month and could have a couple quality issues. Some months she could have none,

others she could have 6. After all, numbers are averages, not absolutes. Of course, Stella & Dot replaces them with our delight

guarantee. But what if all Stylists shared every break that they got in a Stylist Meet-Up or on a Facebook page of 100+ Stylists? You

would have many Stylists chiming in that they have seen defects on every product. Be sure that you take a look at the numbers to

keep perspective and take issues to Customer Care, not to other Stylists. This can erode confidence Stylists need for booking

and selling.

Stylist Starter Sample Orders and

New Line Sample Orders are eligible

for a refund or exchange within 14

days of the ship date on the original

order. If the item is defective or breaks

with minimal wear, replacements will

be made within 30 days of the ship

date on the original order.

Q: I don’t know that many people – can I really run a long-term business? Does the Power of 4 really work?

A: Yes! The Power of 4 is proven to be successful – and you, our Stylists, have proven it time and time again. Ask any Stylist who has been around for a while and she will tell you that she hasn’t done a Trunk Show for a friend or family member in months – maybe years! Think of it like this: If you opened a restaurant and only ever intended for your family to eat there, it would be a pretty small business and everybody you know would be pretty full, fast. (That’s what your kitchen is for!) The world is a lot bigger than that, and you’re truly 1 person away from new customers. That’s why the Power of 4 is key. You’ll begin with those you know in 4 different groups. Then, with strategic Hostess coaching, you will be meeting new people in no time! You’re thinking smarter, certainly not harder, by holding Trunk Shows for a FEW people you know. They will introduce you to new people, so you can book Trunk Shows with stylish strangers. That’s your goal! Go to those first four Trunk Shows and connect with new friends. That is the key for any business, whether it’s a restaurant or your very own social selling fashion business with Stella & Dot.

Q: Should I be doing my newly sponsored Stylist’s first Trunk Show for her, with her, or empowering her to do it herself?

A: Of course, you always want to do what’s best for your new Stylist and, in some cases, doing her first Trunk Show with her can be just that, but I’ve found that most of the time – Stylists THINK this is what they should do but it’s better not to! When we honestly compare, it’s not always best for the new Stylist. It’s the old saying, “teach a woman to fish vs. give her a fish,” comparison of empower vs. enable. We recommend that a Stylist’s first Trunk Show be with someone in her own social circle, using the Power of 4 strategy. It’s going to be a friend with a friendly group, so instead of doing it FOR her, why not teach her how to do it on her own so she’s set up for success? (Doing a Trunk Show FOR your new Stylist would make her a Hostess, not a Stylist!) If a Stylist is what she wants to be, then New Stylist Training with you (her Sponsor), the Faux Show video, and other videos in SDU, Home Office training workshops, and even attending an observation Trunk Show with you are great ways for her to learn HOW to hold her first show. Call her the day of her show to remind her how

great she’s going to do. Ask her to call you on the way home so that you can connect that night or the next day and talk about what went great, and what she learned or would do differently now that she has one show under her belt. That’s empowering, and that’s how you grow a team of amazing, independent Stylists loving their businesses!

Q: How can I compliment a Trunk Show guest or Hostess without seeming like I say the same thing to everybody just to book or sponsor?

A: I love this question – the answer is simple! If you don’t want to be seen as phony, don’t be phony! Simply be completely sincere, genuine, and honest. In fact, the more sincere, genuine, and honest you are, the more successful you will be, not only with your business, but with your life! Look for something in everybody that you sincerely admire – their style, their personality, mannerisms, or the way they interact with people. Be observant of what’s going on around you, and give compliments to those you meet early and often. Nothing negative can come from that. After all, what’s your #1 goal at a Trunk Show? To make new friends and give everyone a great experience! And what’s your #1 goal with people? To leave them feeling better than before they met you. There’s nothing phony about that! Be authentic, be genuine, be yourself. Need guidance on finding the words in your own way? Check out the Words To Say and recordings in SDU.

Q: Which Starter Kit should I recommend to a new Stylist?

A: Oh I am so glad you asked! Don’t you love our easy start-up options? We’ve got 3 options for your new Stylist and which works best for her really depends upon how many Trunk Shows she sees herself holding. However, think about this. I REALLY, REALLY (as

DEARdanielle

Page 125: Stella & Dot Stylist Guide US Fall 2012

123

REFERENCE

in REALLY) believe in the Power of 4 to get off to a strong start,

and then she can decide how many Trunk Shows she wants to

hold, but holding those first 4 shows empowers her to decide

what will make her happy. Based on that, I have to say that I love

the Business Builder option of $1,500 in samples for $699. She’ll

have a great display, she’ll be wearing it everywhere she goes,

and she’ll be profitable within those first 3-4 Trunk Shows. I’ve

learned that PEOPLE AREN’T SHY TO INVEST AS LONG AS THEY

CAN PAY IT BACK FAST! That makes total sense to me! So my

recommendation is to help a new Stylist book her 4 Trunk Shows

and Hostess Coach them. That way, she’ll feel confident in her

$699 investment, knowing she’ll pay it back quickly and earn

more. What other business could you start where you show up 3

or 4 times and suddenly you’re profitable?

Q: Can you give me 3 specific ways to use Facebook to grow my business?

A: I sure can! In fact I just posted a picture of a happy Hostess

wearing her new earrings – so there’s one right there!

1. Post pictures of your Trunk Shows in action! I always strive to

post at least one picture per show, sharing the fun and the style. I

also like to post one of my Hostess showing off what she’s earned

with her Style Rewards. Be sure to add her as a friend right then

and there and tag her, so all her friends will see what she’s been

up to. It’s a great buzz builder. Remind her about outside orders

and sharing her Style Event Page. Anyone who comments on her

picture can still order!

2. Some Facebook-savvy Hostesses like to use Facebook as a

way to build buzz around their upcoming Trunk Show. Share

your Style Event Page for each Trunk Show on Facebook, or set

up a Facebook event for these Hostesses and again, post some

fun comments like “trying to decide which statement piece our

Hostess should wear to start the Trunk Show! What’s your vote –

Lillith Fringe or Lucia?” This is fun, but it’s not going to replace a

personal invitation, so just be sure to coach your Hostess to invite

everybody one on one with a Mini Look Book or evite too.

3. Share your fun & flexible lifestyle! Being a Stella & Dot Stylist

is pretty cool, right? You get to attend a Monthly Stylist Meet-Up

while your friends are dealing with bath time or overtime. We all

love these things – but isn’t it nice to have a break once in a while?

You might even hang out with other Stylists socially, attend a

lunchtime Booking Blitz or even Hoopla! Sharing these social

moments on Facebook are great subtle sponsoring seeds to your

Facebook friends and family. It’s a pretty fun thing you do – share

it! Now I do have to caveat this with one little thing! Facebook is a

fun way to layer your business, but it will never replace in-person

conversations or picking up the phone to call. So even though

you didn’t ask this question, can I give 1 piece of unsolicited advice?

(And since you can’t reply in this forum, I will assume you just

said “yes.”) Call Facebook time what it is – fun! It’s not business

building. Don’t count it toward your work hours. It’s social time.

That way, you won’t ever be frustrated that you just had an hour of

work time, and instead of making a booking call or two, you ended

up getting sucked into the beloved vortex known as Facebook.

When you’re working – shut it off. When you’re playing around

online on the weekend or you’re at a Trunk Show – share the fun!

Q: I get so nervous when I’m out in my daily life and someone strikes up a conversation about my jewelry. I know I should say something – but I just stand there!

A: That’s totally normal. In fact, it’s your fear that makes you

endearing! This is a learned skill and after you’ve walked away

without saying anything except “Thank you” a few times, you

quickly realize that you want to learn it. The Words to Say and role

playing are your BFFs here. Read them, practice them, visualize

yourself in the situation so the next time you are in line and

someone says, “I love your bracelets,” you’ll have a reply ready that

feels familiar and authentic to you! Practice makes perfect! And

don’t forget to get that contact information so you can follow up

later. 20 seconds of courage, my friend. That’s all you need to turn

every conversation into business.

Q: How can I work with the other Stylists in my town to raise the brand awareness of Stella & Dot?

A: You’re doing it by holding Trunk Shows! That’s how our brand

spreads best! Our flexible career path means that while you

may enjoy doing 1 or 2 weekly Trunk Shows, others will find their

happiness doing a couple per month. Check this out: Even if you

and the other Stylists in your community held a show every day,

there would still be room! We have styled less than 1% of our target

market. You may have heard this mind-boggling statistic, but it’s

worth repeating: To style 10% of the homes in our target market,

every active Stylist would need to hold more than 40 Trunk Shows

per month. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a time

management challenge to me. To spread the brand, simply Book,

Sell, and Sponsor. Together, people will start to hear of us more,

and that’s how we grow.

• PRODUCT SALES. You may not sell Stella & Dot on any website other than your Personal Stella & Dot Website, set up a

permanent retail display in a retail environment, or sell through an auction site or other internet sites. Sales outside of the

country within which you are authorized to do business in are strictly prohibited.

• BLANKET DISCOUNTS. You may not offer a Blanket Discount at Trunk Shows, through your Personal Website, or other

marketing channels, including Facebook. Any other permutation of an offer that serves to undercut the retail price of Stella & Dot

is restricted.

• BONUS BUYING. The success of the Company depends on retail sales to the ultimate consumer. Any forms of Bonus Buying

are strictly prohibited. Common examples include: fraudulent enrollment of a Stylist, subsidizing the entire or partial cost of

a customer purchase or New Stylist Starter Kit, maintaining excessive inventory and the purchase of product to qualify for

contests, promotions, personal sales requirement for coaching commissions or Pay Rank, or to avoid Compression.

• ONLINE COMPLIANCE. You may not use Stella & Dot or any derivative thereof in any registered URL, email addresses, or social

media accounts and/or handles, including Google Ads. This is in violation of our trademarked name.

• MARKETING. All marketing, both in print and online, must clearly indicate that you are an Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot

and may not lead the consumer to think they may be interacting with the Home Office. As an independent contractor, you are

fully responsible for paying all applicable federal and state/provincial withholding taxes.

• TRUNK SHOW ORDERS. You may not manipulate your Trunk Show orders in order to qualify for contests or promotions.

• TRUNK SHOW SUBSTITUTIONS. You must conduct your own Trunk Shows or properly train your Tote Show Hostess in order

to earn commissions. You may not ask another Stylist to conduct a Trunk Show on your behalf.

• EXCLUSIVITY. Stella & Dot imposes no restrictions on any (non-Director) Stylist’s participation or sales activity in other

businesses. However, promotion of other competitive business ventures is prohibited at Trunk Shows or in communication with

Stella & Dot customers and any competing direct-sales business (e.g., companies that sell jewelry as one of their offerings) is not

allowed.

• PARTNERSHIPS. Stella & Dot recognizes one name per Stylist Agreement. The Company will not accept Agreements from

partnerships, LLCs, teams, or corporations. Regardless of relationship, marital, or family status, a Stylist may reside at the same

address as another Stylist, so long as she is not directly or indirectly sponsored by another Stylist with whom she resides.

• SPONSOR REASSIGNMENTS. In order to support all Stylists who work hard to sponsor and mentor others in the business,

Sponsor Reassignment Requests will not be granted except under extraordinary circumstances.
