Stephen W. JohnsonExecutive Vice President and Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer Stephen W. Johnson serves as Executive Vice President and Chief

Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer at CONSOL Energy. Prior to his

appointment in January 2013, he served as Senior Vice President

and General Counsel for CONSOL Energy from 2009 to 2012. He served as Executive Vice President

and General Counsel for CNX Gas from 2007 until 2009 and served for two years as Senior Vice

President and General Counsel of CNX Gas.

Before joining CONSOL Energy, Steve was a partner with the Pittsburgh law firm Reed Smith

LLP. He was also a shareholder with the Pittsburgh law firm Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC.

He received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Virginia in 1981 and a juris

doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1984.

Steve is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association as well as the Pennsylvania Bar

Association. He is chairman of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, one of the 50 largest non-profit

continuing care retirement communities in the United States. He also serves as an officer of

First Trinity Lutheran Church.
