Stewardship Reflections
In today’s Gospel, Jesus lays judgment on the scribes and Pharisees for the
hypocritical way they lived out their faith. The criticisms he levies are all about the
ways righteousness turns into self-righteousness, and how religious belief turned into
something that was more about elevating themselves than about what they could do
for God or their neighbor. Good stewards know that discipleship means finding ways
to serve, and searching for ways to be a servant—to live as a servant of Christ. When
faith is authentically lived out in community everyone is enriched, and God is
glorified. Reflect this week on how you live out your faith.
Intercession: That we take to heart the words of Christ in today’s Gospel, ―The
greatest among you will be the one who serves the rest.‖ We pray to the Lord.

NATIONAL VOCATIONS
AWARENESS WEEK
NOVEMBER 5-11TH
National Vocation Awareness Week (NVAW)
is an annual week-long celebration of the
Catholic Church in the United States dedicated
to promote vocations to the priesthood,
diaconate and consecrated life through prayer
and education, and to renew our prayers and
support for those who are considering one of
these particular vocations. NVAW began in
1976 when the U.S. bishops designated the 28th
Sunday of the year for NVAW.
Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated holy priests, deacons and
consecrated men and women. May they be inspired by Jesus Christ,
supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of a
vocation.
Prayer for Vocations
God, our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in
your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, and consecrated persons. Send
your Holy Spirit to help others to respond generously and courageously
to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of
sacrificial love in our youth and young adults. Through our Lord Jesus
Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one
God, forever and ever. Amen
SEMANA DE
CONCIENCIACIÓN SOBRE
LAS VOCACIONES
NACIONALES
NOVIEMBRE 5-11TH
