Ray Harryhausen Raymond Frederick "Ray" Harryhausen (June 29, 1920 –

May 7, 2013) was an American visual effects creator, writer, and producer who created a form of stop- motion model animation known as Dynamation

He was the inventor motion blur animation His most memorable works include the animation on Mighty Joe Young (1949), with his mentor

Willis H. O'Brien, which won the Academy Award for special effects

Jason and the Argonauts (1963), featuring a famous sword fight against seven skeleton warriors.

Clash of the Titans (1981) which was his his last film., after which he retired.

King Kong 1933 A film crew goes to a tropical island for an exotic location

This was the film that inspired ray Harryhausen to begin his animation career

This was one of the biggest stop motion films of all time. King Kong's puppet was made of rabbit pelts over a

metal skeleton. King Kong has been remade several times most recently in 2005.Also King Kong has fought other movie Monsters like Godzilla In crossovers.

modern animation Most modern stop motion films are produced by

Tim Burton and a few are put out by Aardman studios.

Not a lot of films are made stop motion style because of the amount of time it takes and the difficult to make.

Computer generated effects have completely taken over the film industry now.

The reason some films are in stop motion is because filmmakers like the style and audiences appreciate the hard work.

Wallace and Gromit A hugely successful bbc children's series made

by aardman. Two spin off series have been launched; Shaun

the sheep and Timmy time – both made by aardman and both intended for younger audiences.

The film addaptation of the show; “wallace and gromit, the curse of the wererabbit” was very well received in cinemas recently, showing this generation of children still fing the show appealing .

Aardman Studios The creators of the hugely successful show Wallace and

Gromit – and the less successful creature comforts. They're first feature film was the big movie chicken run . Flushed away was entirely computer generated but retained the look of modeling clay characters This was the only one of aardman’s films to do this, the rest of their projects are made of modeling clay and captured with stop motion.

Tim Burton Tim burton is a very famous American Film director, film

producer, artist and animator His films are always influenced by the gothic art style. Burtons films are always high grossing and he has an

extensive fan base His films include; the nightmare before Christmas,

corpse bride, Frankenweenie and Paranorman. Burton always uses people he is familiar with in his

films – his close friend Johnny Depp usually stars alongside his long term partner Helena Bonham Carter.

Also Danny Elfman has produced the music for all of 5 of burtons films.
