NSO Roles and Responsibilities Storage Management Engineer A Storage Management Engineer is responsible for the management of NetApp solutions in NetApp’s Managed Services customer’s environment to take advantage of virtualisation and storage saving technologies. Daily activities and responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Day-to-day management of customer’s storage environment - Installation/Upgrades of storage hardware/software/firmware - Repairs (break-fix, and preventative maintenance) - Monitoring and reporting of deployed infrastructure – capacity, performance, availability, efficiency - Raise and complete changes adhering to the customer’s change management standards - Configuration and management of quota/access policies - Completion of required customer and NetApp training/certification - Proactively respond to error conditions in storage environment - Manage and Update task and process documentation - Provide requested information for audit purposes - Become a trusted advisor to customer and the account team. - Works with NetApp GSC on support cases. - Adheres to Service Management Framework. - Successfully handles customer interactions for maximum customer satisfaction. - Some after-hours/on-call work. - Proactively works autonomously or as part of a team - Management/resolution of incidents and service requests - Provides assistance to greater NetApp team if/when required. - Deploys and Configures Infrastructure Solutions - ONTAP Implementation and Configuration - Infrastructure/Solution Performance Tuning - Completes/Updates Operational Documentation for deployed NetApp Solutions - Upgrade of firmware - SAN implementation and Fabric Configuration - Migration Planning and Execution. - Aligns NetApp Service Delivery with ITIL standards.
