Allsure Boluses are organic supplementary intra-ruminal boluses that supplies the treated animal with four essential trace elements, copper, iodine, selenium and cobalt. Allsure Boluses use a slow release system that supplies treated animals with these elements for up to six months from a single dose. What are the advantages of using Allsure Boluses? If an animal is insufficient in any of the trace elements present in Allsure Boluses it can lead to problems such as infertility and poor immune systems as well as other problems. All these problems caused by the lack of either copper, cobalt, iodine or selenium are listed below. A single dose of Allsure Boluses will prevent deficiency of these elements. Copper Deficiency: Low copper intake can lead to reduced fertility, reduced growth rate, reduced resistance to disease, reduced milk production, depressed bull libido, joint disorders, reduced semen quality, diarrhoea, bone deformities and spontaneous fractures. Iodine Deficiency: While low iodine levels can be quite common, the effects that it can have vary greatly. The symptoms can include, reduced fertility, poor weight gain, reduced milk yield and quality, late abortions, stillbirth, perinatal mortality, metabolic disorders, increased susceptibility to infectious diseases. Selenium Deficiency: Even though selenium is a common naturally occurring element it is frequently low in good quality pastures. Low intake of selenium can lead to white muscle disease, an increase in still births, depressed fertility and retained cleansing. Cobalt Deficiency: Cobalt is essential for the natural production of vitamin B12 in the rumen. Low levels of cobalt will lead to depressed appetite and general poor health. DISINFECTION PROCEDURE FORCRYPTO/COCCIDIOSIS

Kenocox is a broad spectrum disinfectant effectiveagainst excreted endoparasites. This formula killsboth diseases which build up in animal housing. Easyto use, there is no phenol in the solution, making itsafe for users and animals. The best product to usebefore Kenocox is Kenosan.

Step 4:Dilute Kenocox in water until a homogeneoussolution is obtained. A dosage rate of 4% (40 ml ofKenocox per 1 ltr water) Spray all floors, walls andequipment with the solution until all areas are wetand include any surfaces that may come in contactwith animals. Kenocox can be applied to all types ofsurfaces.

A NOTE FROM YOUR LOCAL LAB!ANIMAL HEALTH LABORATORIES

Worms

Worms (stomach and intestinal) cause diarrhoea and weightloss. Infection with worms cause ill health, weight loss andfinancial loss. Young animals in particular may developsevere clinical symptoms resulting in loss of appetite andrestricting growth rates. Those worms cause a conditionknown as parasitic gastroenteritis (PGE) that can affect cattleof all ages including sheep. Older cattle develop a resistanceto roundworm and are less likely to be clinically effected.

Lungworm commonly known as “hoose”effects cattle sheepand other grazing animals. Clinical signs of infection includecoughing and difficulty in breathing especially if animals arebeing moved. Immunity to lungworm quickly develops butonly lasts approximately 6 months in the absence of furtherinfection. Lungworm infection can be confirmed by thedetection of lungworm larvae in faeces.

1. Spray off the old sward with glyphosphate.

2. Soil test and apply lime, phosphorus andpotassium as necessary, pH should be atleast 6.0 (optimum 6.2 - 6.5).

3. Good ploughing ensures a level field forsilage cutting later on and buries theexisting vegetation. If ploughing is notpossible, two or three runs with a discfollowed by one or two runs of a powerharrow ensures good soil to seed contact.

4. A fine, firm seed bed is the objective ofseed bed preparation, a seed bed that istoo deep is not desirable.

5. Select a grass seed mixture based onintended field use, duration of the ley, according to the type of livestock andmanagement and sow at a rate of 14kg ofgrass seed per acre.

6. Sow into warm, moist soil conditions notdeeper than 15mm.

7. Roll well afterwards to ensure good seedto soil contact.

8. Monitor closely for fruit fly, leatherjacket, wireworm and other pest attach and takeimmediate action where necessary.

9. Post emergence spray is essential, particularly after minimum cultivation, postemergence spray should be appliedapproximately 6 weeks afterestablishment just before the first grazing.

10.Graze the new reseeds before closing forsilage, this ensures adequate tillernumbers and helps persistency.

Why Reseed?

The level of reseeding taking placeon farms is far too low and must beincreased.

◊ Increased sward productivity (15-20%).The average different between old andnew swards is 3t DM/ha.

◊ Increased nutrient efficiency - moreresponsive to Nitrogen (+24%) -provided pH levels and P and K indicesare correct.

◊ Higher DM production - especially fromFebruary through to end of May.

◊ Increased spring and autumn growth(critical shoulders of the grazingseason).

◊ Dense leafy swards resulting inincreased intakes and thereforeincreased carrying capacity (0.8cow/ha).

◊ Reduced overall silage requirement. Also silage made is of better qualityand easier preserved.

◊ Opportunity to get rid of weeds andeliminate old non-productive swards.
