Take inspiration from the signature styles of some of Britain’s best-known
interior designersStory KARA O’REILLY
INSIDE DESIGN
William YeowardWilliam Yeoward opened his first store back in 1985, inspired to create the kinds of pieces he couldn’t find for his numerous
interior design schemes. His elegant style combines classicism and longevity, with a focus on comfort; not to mention embracing pattern, a considered colour palette and the odd playful piece.
He says:
‘Design is naturally an opinion, and this one happens to be mine. It’s very important to know what you like and stick with it. Be inspired and be decisive, and all will be well.’williamyeoward.com

Joanna WoodJoanna Wood set up her business when she was just 25 and, as well as running her influential interior design practice, also has a shop and online store. Her style is all about classical English influences combined with judicious contemporary touches.
She says:
‘I have worked very hard to not have a branded look or style, our mantra is good taste and comfort. I create specifically for the client, the architecture and the brief; making clients happy is the reason I do this job. That being said, I love working with period features and fitting in modern living details and design elements.’joannawood.com
