• Simply convey a message / help us remember
• Engage people at all levels and ages
• Powerful tool since time began…• Fables, fairy stories, nursery rhymes• The Bible • Native Indian stories• Films, books, songs, poems• Email ‘stories’ you forward• X Factor!, Who do you think you are? The Soaps• Wedding speeches
The Power of Story Telling
• We can all be Dignity Story Tellers
• Can become rallying cries / legends to tell ‘newbies’ and refocus all
• Cut through noise, capture attention, inspire action
• Add a level of depth / emotion
• Produce tremendous value for organisations at very low cost
• Bad news stories ‘travel’ more
• Good dignity stories important

• In groups please share some stories
• Think about…
• Little things that have made a big difference to someone’s dignity
• When someone has been treated with great respect
• When something that matters to someone has really been understood
• A staff member has done something unusual / unexpected
• Share your stories and agree one or two that you think best highlight(s) Dignity.
