Only in StoryTown’sSuggested Lesson Planner can daily and weekly lessons and related support materials be viewed, opened, printed, scheduled, or assigned directly from the Online Teacher Edition pages. The Suggested Lesson Planner makes classroom management a snap! Teachers can choose to use the recommended daily activities, or they can customize a lesson to suit their needs.

StoryTown’s teachers can access their Online Teacher Editions any time and anywhere. This fully interactive planning tool is easily accessible from any computer, providing useful tools for teachers on the go. The search function allows teachers

to locate instruction referenced in the Teacher Edition and other StoryTown ancillaries. This feature gives teachers full access to content while planning from a single location.

Teachers can schedule activities from the search results onto the planning calendar.

Harcourt Leveled Readers Online

Teachers are able to search the Harcourt Leveled Readers Online database by reading level, grade level, and genre— matching kids to books. StoryTown Leveled Readers Online collection provides access to 840 new and unique titles with full audio.

Students access their Leveled Readers through ThinkCentral (page 3). Students can check their To-Do list for Readers once they log-in at school, at home, or anywhere with an Internet connection.

Video Podcasts

StoryTown and ThinkCentral are fully connected! Video Podcasts deliver on-demand professional development courses directly to StoryTown’s teachers. The videos are accessible from within ThinkCentral and can be downloaded to an MP4 player or viewed on the computer. Video Podcasts allow busy teachers to get the reinforcement and additional training they need—“on the go!”

Enrichment CD Products

StoryTown features two CD-based programs to enhance students’ comprehension and phonemic awareness and phonics—Comprehension Expedition and Splash Into Phonics. Both are filled with captivating games and activities that entertain young learners as they reinforce their phonics and comprehension skills. A Teacher Management System is included for tracking student progress.

Comprehension Expedition’s (Grades 4–6) Special Agent Bird takes readers on exciting expeditions through swamps, forests, mountains, and more! Their journey provides practice and reinforcement of comprehension skills taught and tested in StoryTown.

In Splash Into Phonics (Grades K–3) games and activities are submerged in scenic ocean destinations, such as a coral reef or a sunken ship, that provide the background for reinforcing tested phonics instruction in StoryTown.
