Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday inFebruary. The holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after itwas moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to
create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. The story ofPresidents’ Day begins in 1800. Following President George Washington’s
death in 1799, his February 22 birthday became a perennial day ofremembrance. At the time, Washington and Lincoln remain the two mostrecognized leaders, but Presidents’ Day is now popularly seen as a day torecognize the lives and achievements of all of America’s chief executives.

Black History Month is observed in the month of February. Black History Month, also known as African-American History Month in America, is an annual observance in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
The African diaspora refers to the communities throughout the world that are descended from the historic movement of peoples from Africa, predominantly to the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, among other areas around the globe.
The expansion of Black History Week to Black History Month was first proposed by the leaders of the Black United Students at Kent State University in February 1969. The first celebration of the Black History Month took place at Kent State one year later, in February 1970.
GOOD ADVICE "Life is not the way it's supposed to be..
It's the way it is.. The way we cope with it,
is what makes the difference.” “Not everyone can do great things. But we can all do small
things with great love!” Mother Teresa
Remember the five simple rules to be happy: 1. Free your heart from hatred. 2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less.

Reminder to all residents: As stated in the EIV & You Brochure given to residents at application, move in, and every certification, when changes occur in your household income or family composition, immediately contact your property manager to determine if this will affect your rental assistance. This includes Social Security, SSI, Wages, Unemployment, Pensions, and all other income. EIV is a web-based computer system containing employment and income information on individuals participating in HUD’s rental assistance programs. This information assists HUD in making sure “the right benefits go to the right persons”. Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you, Theresa & Alex
