1.1 Torque wrench 2.5 - 25 Nm
The non-destructive buckling factor key testing method is suitable for testing stud
joints.
Set to the respective stud diameter:
1. Disconnect handle (1) by means of rotating the safety locking (2) to the right in the direction of “Open“. The symbol for “open” is then displayed in the three viewing windows of the locking sleeve.
2. Please adjust the required torque (see scales 3 and 4) by rotating the handle (1). With each adjustable torque, a clicking noise can be heard.
3. For fixation of the adjusted value, the mark line of the nonius has been in the middle of the scale (4). The safety locking (2) is to be rotated back to the left. The symbol for “closed” is then displayed in the three viewing windows of the locking sleeve.
The torque wrench may be used now.

1.2 Torque wrench 2 - 10 Nm (option)
Adjustment of torque:
1. Release the adjustment mechanism by withdrawing the locking sleeve (1).
2. With the sleeve withdrawn, adjust the required torque by rotating the handle (2) (see scales 3 and 4).
3. By releasing the locking sleeve, the adjusted value is set.
The torque wrench may be used now.

2 Operation
Please check if the desired buckling test is adjusted for the stud to be tested.
Set the stud testing tool firmly on the stud to be tested.
CAUTION! It is imperative that the diameter of the location hole in the head
of the testing tool corresponds with the stud diameter (see illus-
tration 1).

Operation

Gripping lever of the tool, start pushing it to latch direction (see illustration 2). The
torque wrench may only be actuated towards the direction of the green marking.
CAUTION! Do not push the lever to reverse direction. It does not latch in re-
verse direction and the operation will cause damage or bend for
stud (see illustration 3).

CAUTION! Be careful to use this tool in narrow place, so as not to put hand
between!
Latching shows the strength of weld part of stud to be satisfied and to clear per-
determined bending moment.

Calculation of the effective torque:
A 168
The use of adapters or special plug tools that modify the length of the wrench be-yond the ”normal“ output point influences the effective torque.
The modified torque is calculated as follows:
TE = effective torque at the output point of the adapter.
TS = torque adjusted at the scale.
L = distance between middle of the grip and ”normal“ output point M110 946 = 168mm / M110 961 = 135 mm.
A = adapter length. Calculation example for stud Ø 5 with a sheet thickness of 0.8 mm.
TE = 2.5 Nm x (168 mm+30 mm)
168 mm TE = 2.95 Nm
