Cafeteria cleaners for this week are: 7th Grade Helpers are; Bri Gomez, Carson Ogburn 8th Grade Helpers are Kyran

McInroy, Kamryn Doty, Sage Brock, Elvis Williams, Trinity Hernandez, Alexis Hernandes. Thanks for helping to clean up

our cafeteria! Please note, students that are cleaners for the day need to wait to be dismissed by Ms. Miller (Ms.

Cathy) before leaving the cafeteria.

TRACK

The first meet is THURSDAY, April 8th in Weiser starting at 4:30pm. For the home meets, athletes will spread out among

the busses that go to the high school from the middle school directly after school. The busses that go from here to the

high school are; 22, 10, 12, 13, 2 and 16. Athletes will HAVE to spread out so that no 1 bus will be overloaded. Hopefully

everyone’s paperwork is turned in, but if it is not, please get required paperwork turned in asap! You cannot participate

in practices or meets if your paperwork is not in. Check with Mrs. Kautz in the office if you are unsure what you need.

Also, you must have a $10 activity card prior to the first meet.

TENNIS

The first match is TODAY in Weiser starting at 4:00pm. Hopefully everyone’s paperwork is turned in, but if it is not, please

get required paperwork turned in asap! You cannot participate in practices or matches if your paperwork is not in. Check

with Mrs. Kautz in the office if you are unsure what you need. Also, you must have a $10 activity card prior to the first

match.

SPORTS PHOTOS

We will be doing spring sports photos on Wednesday, April 21st, starting at 2:00pm, so any athlete in one of these

sports will need to make arrangements to be at the middle school (over at the gym) on Wednesday, the 21st by 2:00pm.

Picture packets have arrived, so if you would like to purchase track or tennis pictures you can pick up an order form

from the office.

8th GRADE GIRLS VOLLEYBALL MEETING

Attention all 8th grade girls planning to play volleyball at the HS next season: There will be a meeting in the library

TODAY, Tuesday April 6th at lunch. If you plan on playing volleyball next season at the High School, please make sure to

attend the meeting. We will be covering information about team camp, fundraisers for camp and other important

summer and season info. Bring your lunch with you and treats will be provided.

“Emma Odoms, thank you for taking the dowel down to the shop and cutting it for me. I really

appreciate it!” Ms. Cathay appreciates Mrs. Hansen, Mr. Gibson and Mr. Hurley for stepping up to cover

the cafeteria this morning.

FCA MEETING

We will be having an FCA meeting for the 8th graders on Friday, April 9th at 12:10pm in the library. There will be a game,

treats and a short message. Everyone (8th GRADE ONLY) is welcome to attend. Hope to see you there!

Mrs. Turner’s Hero Squad

Good morning, Weiser Middle School is proud to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society this school year through

the Hero Squad community service-learning program! We are joining schools all across the nation to make a difference.

Our school goal is $1700. Your collection envelope has been sent home with the information for your parents about

Hero Squad and instructions for setting up your very own online giving page. When you create your online page and

start raising money online, you become eligible to receive awesome Hero Gear!

Tell Me Something Good - Mrs. JohnsonA few years ago middle school math teacher Finn Lanning met student Damien in Aurora,Colorado. Damien enjoyed Lanning as a teacher because he let him get his work donewithout much bothering. Lanning enjoyed Damien as a student because he always stoodout and was really funny. Then one day Damien told Lanning he wouldn't be back to school.That's when Lanning learned Damien had a kidney disease and was in foster care. Socialservices couldn't find Damien a foster family that was willing and able to meet his medicalneeds, that's when Damien was forced to move into a hospital and no longer attendschool. Damien needed a transplant desperately and getting a transplant is difficult, but it's even more difficult when thepatient doesn't have a stable home. That's when Lanning decided to become a foster parent and take in Damien, medicalneeds and all. In the two years since the two of them met, Damien was able to get a transplant and just a few monthsago Lanning officially adopted Damien.
