DISASTER FUNDRAISER

This summer Mrs. Galetti was lucky enough to spend some time on Grand Bahama Island, in the Bahamas this past summer. (Freeport to be exact) Just a few weeks after our return Dorian hit the Island and had over 45

percent of the island under water, and 90 percent of all homes were destroyed. It is complete devastation for the Island and the people who live there. FCCLA is fundraising and

collecting items to send the families. We would like to have a competition among the advisory classes as to who can raise the most money. All monetary donations will go to the schools (which will be closed for at least a year) and Grand Bahama Island Disaster Relief Fund. I have been in contact with a group of friends since the onset of Dorian and

their devastation is agonizing to me, they lost everything. The family that I am the closest to has sent me a list of most needed items that I would like to collect for them. If you could

help out in any way please let me know or bring donated items to me in E6. We would like to run the Advisory challenge for 2 weeks. 16-27 of September. And also do the clothing drive during the same-mainly for staff member to donate. We will also be selling t-shirts with profits going to Grand Bahama Island Disaster Relief funds. T-shirt rendering to come soon.

LIBRARY WORKSHOPS

This year the library would like to offer some opportunities for all of you to explore topics surrounding how to be an adult/responsible and productive citizen. This is an area that often times is not explored in normal classes but are necessary skills to have once you leave our walls. In the outgoing senior survey, many students expressed interest in these opportunities before they graduated and moved into the real world.

In order to provide what students most want to see, we would love to have your input on the following survey where we give some ideas and allow you to offer ideas as well. https://forms.gle/e4fdTdyCAM9WHYJy9

JOURNALISM FUNDRAISER The journalism department will be sending SIX students to the National Convention in Washington, D.C. this November. Students are responsible to raise their own money to go. They will be competing in several contests as well as attending workshops with students from all over the country.

Our current fundraiser: Family Portraits on November 1st and 2nd ($15 per family session) ALL proceeds go straight to the students' travel fees. Picture Sign Up Link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0d4ca8ab29a6f94-family1
