STUDENT CONSOLE

Did you know that becoming a good speller can help you with your reading and writing skills as well? Take the first step towards improving your spelling in the Spellodrome Student Console, where you can create your own avatar and play against other students from around the world.

Compete against other students, challenge yourself and test your spelling skills in order to earn points and credits along the way! Receive enough points and you’ll earn a digital Millennium Helmet or a Golden Bike with a certificate. Use your credits in the shop, where you can buy features and accessories for your avatar.

Keep track of your progress each week and you’ll be amazed at how your spelling results improve!

1 Check out My Word List, where you can see the words that your teacher has assigned you for the week.

2 Click on one of the lists to see all of the words in the set.

3 Click on any of the words to enter Cyclobot’s Support. Practise them using Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check.

1 Play against members of the Spellodrome community around the world or against Cyclobette herself!

2 Try to guess the word. It’s your turn first.

Click on a letter - if you guess correctly you will get another go!

3 Figure out the word first and you’ll get 50 points!

1 Listen as the word and the sentence are read out.

Type or use the keyboard to enter your answer into the box.

2 Every correct answer will earn you 10 points towards your millennium helmet.

3 Your incorrect answers will be recorded in My Results so that you can practise them later.

Be careful though - you only have three lives!

D Words in Pieces

1 The words in your list have been split in half and scattered around the page.

2 Drag the matching puzzle pieces together to recreate the word.

3 Your words are listed on the scroll at the bottom of the page or challenge yourself to piece together the words without looking.

You’ll score 50 points for putting all of the puzzle pieces together correctly.

E Live Spellodrome

1 Can you spell at Rookie, Master or Championship level? Choose the level that suits you in Live Spellodrome.

Correct Rookie level words are worth 10 points each. Master words are worth 15 points, Championship words are worth 20 points.

2 Play against other students around the world in a one on one spelling race.

If you win, you earn 5 credits to spend in the Avatar shop. Be careful though - 3 strikes and you’re out!

3 After the race, you can see all the questions that you answered.

1 Type in the letters to spell the missing words.

2 Click on the clue to hear the word and sentence.

3 Check your answers by clicking erase mistakes.

G Find A Word

1 Your list words are hidden in the Find A Word Grid. The words to find are listed in the first box.

2 Highlight the words as you find them by clicking and dragging.

3 The words fade out in the word box when you have found them.

H Face Maker

1 Create your own avatar in the Face Maker.

This will be what people around the world see when you play against them in Live Spellodrome.

2 Use the credits you have earned to buy features for your avatar.

Enter the shop and you will find new clothes, accessories backgrounds and more!

I Millennium Gallery

1 If you earn 1000 points in a week you will receive a digital millennium helmet, along with a certificate.

2 When you reach 1000 points your award will appear in the millennium gallery. Click on this to see and print your certificate.

3 Keep it up for 5 weeks and you’ll get a Golden Bike Award!

This section shows all the words that you have answered correctly and incorrectly.

2 Click on any of the words to enter Cyclobot’s Support, where you can revise all the words you have seen in activities this week.

HINTSpelt a word incorrectly? If you practise and get it right 3 times, it will move over to the Correctly Spelt list!
