It’s playful, moving, and never the same twice.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24Madrigal Singers 7:30 PM, Presser Room, Music & Multimedia Center The College’s select vocal ensemble, under the direction of Rochelle Reed, performs Warren Martin’s “The True Story of Cinderella,” a hilarious take on the traditional story of “Cinderel-la,” as depicted in an hour-long opera that is sung in English and scored for 12 singers, narrator, and piano.
SATURDAY, APRIL 2712th Annual Tyler Formal Gardens & Landscape Lecture10 AM, Zlock Performing Arts Center“Stoneleigh Garden—Our Newest Public Garden”Behind a border of towering trees in Villanova, PA, a special place grew from a gentleman’s farm to an elegant country estate. Ethan Kauffman, Natural Land’s Director of Stoneleigh, will reveal the rich history of the landscape. A guided tour of the Tyler Formal Gardens is included, along with a raffle for tickets to Stoneleigh Garden. $15 general admission, $10 veterans & Bucks alumni, $5 students with ID. WEDNESDAY, MAY 1 THROUGH FRIDAY, MAY 3Planting Seeds: The Art & Science of Pollination 10 AM – 2 PM, Artmobile (parked near Hicks Art Center, on Linden Lane) Artmobile, the traveling art museum, presents an interactive exhibit for all ages based on STEAM (STEM + Art) principles. Planting Seeds features 14 artists and scientists from our own back yard and across the nation who work to increase awareness of pollinators in our environment, the threats to their habitat loss, and the consequences of diminished populations. Percussion Ensemble 7:30 PM, Presser Room, Music & Multimedia Center Under the direction of Mark Pultorak, the Bucks Percussion Ensemble performs a wide spectrum of percussion music, including standard repertoire, popular favorites, and recent avant-garde compositions.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MAY 3 & 4Drama Club Presents: Next to Normal Zlock Performing Arts CenterWith book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, “Next to Normal” explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. What appears to be a typical American family is anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. It takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family’s story with love, sympathy and heart. Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, and “Next to Normal” was chosen as “one of the year’s ten best shows” by critics around the country.
