Student Leadership Day

Reports and Parent Interviews It is that me of the year again where the teachers are busy wring student reports for this semester. Student reports are given out at the end of terms 2 and 4 as a requirement of the Department of Educaon. This semesters reports will go home in Week 9 and Parent Teacher Interviews will be held in week 10. The report will show your child's progress according to the expected learning of each stage based on the NSW Curriculum. This includes: How your child is tracking on the achievement of stage learning in all key learning areas How they're progressing to meet the next level of achievement and support being provided And more importantly what effort they are pung into their learning. While there is a state-wide grading system A- E for achievement, a C means that your child is on track for their stage of learning. This is where we would like them to be. It means that they are mastering the content being taught in their stage. The A-E Effort area is a grading on their movaon to learn, how hard they are trying and the effort they put into their learning. Given that 2020 was the challenging year of COVID that had us all looking at new way of teaching and learning for a while, I believe we as a school are back on track with our normal pracces and processes regarding reporng to parents and hope that you will join us at parent interviews later in the term to share your child’s progress and achievements. Parent Teacher Interviews If you don’t have any parcular concerns, you might wonder whether it’s worth going to parent-teacher interviews. But going along is one way to show your child that you’re interested in his/her learning and what’s happening for him/her at school. Parent teacher interviews will be held on the following days in Week 10. Monday 21st to Thursday 24th aer school between 3.15- 5.00. Parents also have the choice of a telephone interview if they cannot make the face to face interview. All interviews will be held in your child’s classroom for 15 minutes. Please indicate your 3 preferred mes and the format you wish to use on the note which will be sent home today and return to school as soon as possible. Trish Webb PRINCIPAL
