USF TRADITIONS

• CampU is an overnight experience where students learn about USF history and traditions while building life-long friendships

• Week of Welcome occurs at the beginning of every semester and provides hundreds of events to help students transition to the USF community

• Homecoming Week occurs every fall and provides tons of free entertainment and social events

• Movies on the Lawn occur twice each month, showing a current movie outdoors with free popcorn

• Bull Market occurs every Wednesday, where tons of vendors and student organizations set up booths on our Marshall Center patio

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

• Students can participate in research in any field or major

• Can be a part of an existing research study or start your own

• Office of Undergraduate Research in campus library makes involvement easy

• Students are paired with a USF faculty advisor

GREEK LIFE

• Four different councils

UNIVERSITY LECTURE SERIES

• Started in 1986, provides the campus community opportunities to engage each other in a thoughtful, respectful manner while creating new ideas, opinions, and values of their world

• Distinguished guest lecturers include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Reverend Jesse Jackson, RENT star Anthony Rapp, Common, and Mythbusters, to name a few

SPORTS/INTRAMURALS

• Over 30 sports and activities offered ranging from football/soccer to inner tube water polo

• Structured leagues and tournaments • Offered fall, spring, and summer

semesters • All students, staff, and faculty can

students with healthy grab-n-go options and is conveniently located next to our Campus Recreation Center

• Special menu items are always available for vegetarian, vegan, gluten- and lactose-free diets

• Many other dining options available across campus including Burger King, Subway, Miso Sushi, and more

LIVING ON CAMPUS

• Living Learning Communities allow students to live with others who have similar academic or social interests

GRADUATE STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

• Graduate students can participate in organizations that are open to all students at the university and those that are specifically identified for graduate students

• Currently there are over 30 registered organizations that are identified as graduate organizations ranging from academic to social organizations

DOCTORAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

• Prepares students for global leadership in a variety of settings

• Completion of a one-semester leadership course • At least two semesters of shadowing effective

leaders • Development and implementation of a

leadership plan • Participation in a leadership journal club • Participation in leadership conferences/retreats

GRADUATE AND PROFESSIONAL STUDENT COUNCIL

• Fosters interaction between graduate and professional students through community service, social, and academic events

• GPSC provides a voice for graduate and professional students by advocating student interest to administration, the Graduate School, and Student Government

GRADUATE STUDENT AMBASSADORS

• New organization beginning in January 2013!

• Provides opportunities for graduate students to advise the Dean of the Graduate School and to be actively involved in building a graduate community by creating a network for communication and assistance among prospective, current and former graduate students

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP SERIES • Aimed at assisting graduate students

with skills acquisition in area of writing, research, networking, wellness and others that are scheduled throughout the academic year

• Focus on assisting graduate students in their matriculation
