Reading
Let’s read! Pick a family member
or friend to video call. Read your favorite book to them on the call. If you aren’t able to do a
video call, you can read to someone who lives with you.
Magic-write your sight words. Write
your words with a white crayon. Color over the words
with markers.
Kindergarten sight words are listed on attachment 1 (page 11).
Math
Count to 100 as many ways as
you can.
Find a variety of objects to count, such as, pennies, Legos, beads, etc. and count out 100 of
them.
Challenge: Write the numbers 1-100.

Today we will explore needs and
wants. Needs are something you must
have to live. Wants are something you would
like to have.
Please see attachment 3 on page 13: showing examples of
needs and wants and find items in your house that you need
and items that you want. You can take a photo or draw a picture of the items and send it
to your teacher.

Reading
Read your favorite book in the
dark using a flashlight.
Write your kindergarten sight words on post-it notes or small pieces of paper and hang them
around your room. Turn the lights off and hunt for the
words with a flashlight.

Volunteer to clean up your toys. Write a How-To story that will
teach others in your house how to clean up toys too. Use the

seperate pieces of paper. Place each sight word on a step.
Read each sight word aloud as you go up each step!

Exploring
We can’t believe the end of the school is here! We had so much
fun in Kindergarten! Please think back to all the fun
memories you had at school this year and write and draw a
picture about the top 5! Ideas: Your favorite free choice activity, playing with friends at
recess, a special book your teacher read, a fun activity, science experiment, project,
holiday party, etc. Attachment 8, page 21.

Reading
On a sunny day, pick a “make
believe” (fiction) book from home to read outside. Choose a
comfy and safe spot to read.
After you finish, use the Five Finger Retell to act out your
book outside! See attachment 9, page 22
Math
Family Math Hammer Game
This game is similar to rock, paper, scissors except you play with numbers. 1. Start by facing each other.
Put your hands in the same position as rock, paper scissors.
2. Count to three together and then each of you holds-up some of your fingers. For example if player one holds out 2 fingers and the second player holds out 5 fingers you would add those two numbers together for the sum of 8.
3. Keep playing and having fun.
Challenge: You can try subtraction or add in other family members to make lots of different equations.

How to make sidewalk chalk paint
1. Add 1 cup of water to 1 cup of cornstarch or any 1:1 ratio. 2. Mix until there are no clumps of cornstarch and then pour the mixture into the cups of muffin tin or into small
plastic containers. 3. Next add a few drops of food coloring or washable paint to each cup and mix until blended. 4. Any brushes will work to paint!
