MARIANO’S HIRING EVENT RESULTS IN JOB OFFERS FOR TRUMAN STUDENTS Truman College’s Career Planning and Placement
Center (CPPC) hosted a hiring event with Mariano’s on
March 11 that netted over half of the 41 participants sec-
ond interviews. Several of the students seeking part-time
employment while they attend school had already re-
ceived job offers before the end of the week. Interviews
were held for Mariano’s Edgewater and Skokie locations
and students prepared for them by working with CPPC to
draft resumes, practice mock interviews, and work
through the grocery store chain’s online job application.
To professionalize their appearance for the interviews,
suits were provided for some of the male students by
Student Activities and the Truman’s Veteran’s Club,
while women were provided suits by CPPC.
