1. ABOUT STUDENT SUPER PROFESSIONALSUPER

Student Super Professional Super has been designedspecifically for students and young professionals. The Fund ismarketed under two brands – Student Super and ProfessionalSuper. we’ve tailored the experience of the Student Superwebsite and app for students, and the Professional Superwebsite and app for young professionals. The Fund is managed by the Trustee. It is administered inaccordance with the trust deed and rules of the TidswellMaster Superannuation Plan. The Fund is a superannuation product designed to help youaccumulate and grow your super savings tax-effectively, asyou progress from student through to working life. As a

Student Super Professional Super member, you haveexposure to investments in Macquarie funds1 when yourbalance has reached $1,500.you may become a member of the Fund while your super is inthe ‘accumulation’ phase. The Fund has been designed to protect your balance whenyou are starting out with superannuation. your fees will beautomatically discounted when your balance is under $5,000.Members with balances under $1,000 will be charged zerofees, and members with balances between $1,000 and$4,999 will receive a 50% discount on the weeklyadministration fee.The Fund’s investment direction has been established withthe aim of protecting the capital of low balance members.whilst your balance is under $1,500 it will be wholly investedin the cash investment option. As your balance grows tobetween $1,500 and $4,999 it will be wholly invested in thegrowth investment option. once your balance reaches$5,000 you will be able to make a choice about how youwould like your balance to be invested.we do not offer default insurance, as insurance premiums canerode low super balances. you can find more information about the Trustee and executiveremuneration disclosure for the Fund and any other documentthat must be disclosed under superannuation law on theTrustee’s website atwww.tidswell.com.au/apra-trustee/governance/.

HOW SUPER WORKS Super is a long-term investment and a tax-effective means ofsaving for your retirement which is, in part, compulsory.There are different types of contributions available (forexample employer contributions, voluntary contributions andgovernment co-contributions). Tax savings are provided bythe government in return for investing in super. Most peoplehave the right to choose the super fund they wish to invest in.The money you invest in super is generally not available untilyou retire.Many students and young professionals have multiple superaccounts. Having multiple super accounts could mean you’repaying multiple fees and charges, which may reduce youroverall superannuation balance. Student Super ProfessionalSuper can help you combine your existing super accounts intoyour Student Super Professional Super account. our Super Search Party can help you find your super accountsand consolidate them into Student Super Professional Super.The Super Search Party will guide you through the searchprocess and will enable you to choose which accounts you’dlike to move into your Student Super Professional Superaccount.

5. HOW WE INVEST YOUR MONEYThe Fund has established an investment direction with theaims of protecting the capital of low balance members. when you join the Fund, you must consent to your superaccount being invested in accordance with the Fund’sinvestment direction. This means that:(a) your super balance will be wholly invested in the cash

investment option until it reaches $1,500. (b) when your super balance is between $1,500 and $4,999

it will be wholly invested in the growth investment option.(c) when your super balance reaches $5,000 it will remain

invested in the growth investment option unless youchoose to invest it in one of the Fund’s other investmentoptions.

If your balance falls below $1,500 your balance will remaininvested in the growth investment option, and you will not betransferred back to the cash investment option. Similarly, ifyou make the choice of investing the whole of your balance inany one of the following three options, your balance willremain invested in the option that you chose even if yourbalance falls below $5,000.

once your balance reaches $5,000 the Fund offers you thefollowing investment options:(a) High growth(b) growth(c) BalancedThese investment options cover the following major assetclasses; cash, Australian Fixed Interest, International FixedInterest, Property, Australian Shares, International Shares andAlternative Assets.Each of these investment options will have differentexposures to the asset classes listed above. For moreinformation please refer to the Reference guide. Warning: when choosing the investment options in which toinvest your super, you should consider the level of risk, likelyinvestment return and your investment timeframe.we regularly undertake a review of the investment optionsavailable through the Fund and may change, add, close orterminate an investment option at any time.A description of each investment option is contained in theReference guide. An example of the information for thegrowth investment option is shown in the following table.Description: The growth investment option has been designedfor students and young professionals who are starting out withsuper and will be investing for the long term. The growthinvestment option has a strong bias towards growth assets,such as Australian and international shares and property, with asmaller allocation towards defensive assets such as fixedinterest securities and cash. This option is designed for thosewho are investing over the longer term and are prepared toaccept a higher level of performance volatility for the chance toachieve greater returns. The growth investment option isdesigned to provide comparable levels of performance volatilityto the High growth investment option, and the capacity toachieve higher returns than the Balanced investment option.

Changing your investment optiononce your balance has reached $5,000 you can select andswitch investment options at any time by completing theonline form on the member websites or apps. A switch will beeffected as soon as reasonably practicable upon receipt of avalid instruction. There are no administration charges levied with respect toinvestment switches; however a buy/sell differential mayapply. Investment switches are processed using the sell (orexit) price of units being sold and the buy (or entry) price ofunits being purchased. A buy/sell price differential isrepresentative of the cost to members in the buying andselling of the underlying assets with respect to the choseninvestment option.

Socially Responsible InvestingThe various underlying investment managers have their ownpolicy on the extent to which labour standards orenvironmental, social or ethical considerations are taken intoaccount when making investment decisions.whether an investment manager has such a policy, or thecontents of such a policy, is not considered by the Trusteewhen selecting or monitoring investment managers. Furtherwe do not currently require the investment managers weappoint to take any such considerations into account whenmaking their investment decisions.The Trustee utilises the investment expertise of an investmentmanager who has proven its ability to perform over a numberof years.

Fee discounts for low balance customersStudent Super Professional Super’s pricing strategy has beendesigned to protect your balance when you are starting outwith superannuation. If you have a balance below $5,000 youwill automatically receive discounted pricing:

Members with balances under $1,000 will be charged■

zero fees. There are no hidden fees and costs, anycharges will be rebated to your account. Fees will berebated to your account on a monthly basis. Rebates arebased on your balance as at the end of the month.Members with balances under $1,500 are wholly investedin the cash investment option.

Members with balances between $1,000 and $4,999■

receive a 50% discount on the weekly administrationfee. All other fees and charges, including the percentagebased administration fee, apply. Fees will be rebated to youraccount on a monthly basis. Changing the feesThe Trustee reserves the right to automatically change anyfees and costs in line with movements in the consumer PriceIndex (cPI) on the 1st of July each year. we reserve the rightto change any of our fees and costs outside the levels shownabove without your consent. Any increase will only take effectafter the Trustee has provided you with 30 days’ writtennotice.See the ‘Fees and costs’ section in the Reference guide forfurther details.

Example of annual fees and costsThis table gives an example of how the fees and costs in thegrowth investment option for this superannuation product canaffect your superannuation investment over a 1 year period.you should use this table to compare this product with othersuper products.

Note: Additional fees may apply. If you leave thesuperannuation entity, you may be charged an exit fee of $52and a buy/sell spread which also applies whenever you make acontribution, exit, rollover or investment switch. The buy/sellspread for exiting the growth option is 0.2395%/0.2404%(This will equal $120.20 for every $50,000 you withdraw).

7. HOW SUPER IS TAXEDThere are a number of ways that super is taxed: oncontributions, on investment earnings and on withdrawals.Taxes charged within the Fund are deducted from youraccount as and when required or when you leave the Fund.Tax on super is complex. The information provided is generalin nature and we recommend that you seek advice from aregistered tax agent to determine your personal obligations.

Tax on contributions

+ This tax is 30% for members with eligible income over$250,000.Warning: contributions made to your account in the Fund willcount towards your contribution limits. Additional tax andcharges may be payable if you exceed these limits. you should monitor the amount of your contributions to theFund to ensure that you do not exceed the caps that apply toyou. Refer to the Reference guide for more information.

Tax on investment incomeInvestment income is generally taxed at 15%, but offsets (taxcredits and rebates) apply which may reduce the effective taxrate. Tax is deducted from investment income before weeklyunit prices are determined.

Tax on your super benefitswithdrawals from your super account may be taxed if you areaged less than 60 and any applicable tax will be withheld fromyour benefit payment. Read the Reference guide for furtherinformation. once you turn 60, generally no tax applies towithdrawals unless you are a temporary resident.

HOW TO OPEN AN ACCOUNTBefore deciding to apply for membership of the Fund youshould read this PDS and the Reference guide.To apply, you should complete the online application on ourwebsites www.studentsuper.com.au andwww.professionalsuper.com.au or you can complete theonline application via the Student Super and ProfessionalSuper apps.

Cooling-off periodwhen you initially invest in the Fund you will have theopportunity to review your investment to ensure it meets yourexpectations. This is known as a ‘cooling-off’ period.If you are not satisfied with the investment you have made,you may cancel your initial application within 14 days of theearlier of:(a) the date you receive our email Letter of Acceptance; or(b) 5 business days after your application is accepted.If you cancel your investment within the cooling-off period,you may have it rolled over to another super fund or, if eligible,have it paid to you. your initial investment amount will beadjusted for any changes in the unit price of the investmentoption selected, less any transaction costs.Amounts paid to the Fund may accrue interest in the Fund’saccounts pending the issue of units or the return ofapplication monies to you.
