Official Undergraduate Program in Business Administration and Management

The Official Undergraduate Program in Business Administration and Man-agement provides the necessary knowledge, attitudes and skills to ensure you become a competent and honest entrepreneur, director or manager.

The studies cover a wide variety of profiles, including people with predomi-nantly humanistic and social training and others with a more analytical and technical nature, depending on the business area in which you wish to work.

The Official Undergraduate Program in Business Administration and Man-agement provides you with an understanding of the know-how pertain-ing to the different areas of business: economics, finance and accountancy, marketing, human resources, operations and management, as well as other more general knowledge and skills, such as oral and written communication, English proficiency, ethical commitment and computer skills. Furthermore, you will be able to apply the knowledge acquired to practical situations.

At IQS you can take your entire undergraduate program in English, or grad-ually, in Spanish and English.

Official Undergraduate Program in Business Administration and Management

Requirements: own entrance test and Official University Entrance Test.

Options that should have been chosen during secondary education: Mathematics, Mathematics applied to Social Science and Economics.

Duration and academic workload: 4 years (8 semesters). 240 ECTS credits.

Internship in companies: 4.5 credits.

Final project: 12 credits.

Timetable: monday to Friday, from 8.00 h to 14.30 h (first and second years). Monday to Friday, from 15.00 h to 21.30 h (third and fourth years).

SPECIFIC SKILLS • To understand the determining factors and mechanisms in the behaviour of

an individual economy in a global context.

Master’s program and doctorate After completing the Undergraduate studies, graduates in Business Adminis-tration and Management should streamline their education towards different areas related to their speciality. IQS recommends that all of its graduates un-dertake a Master’s program. On completion of the Business Administration and Management undergraduate program, the IQS School of Management offers:

MASTER IN GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURIAL MANAGEMENT This Master’s program is entirely taught in English and offers an international experience and practical training in global markets, enabling you to take responsibilities at the management level in companies and organisations in international markets.

Features: • It offers a unique experience: over twelve intensive months, you will experi-

ence everything involved in living and interacting in three different locations: the first term takes place at IQS School of Management (Barcelona), the second at Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan), and the third at the University of San Francisco (USA).

• You gain experience on what it means to work in a global context, thanks to the internships in international companies and top-level consultancy work.

MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETING & SALES MANAGEMENT / MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETING IN A DIGITAL ENVIRONMENTThis Master’s program, which is entirely taught in English, enables you to obtain the specific skills required to begin a succesful career in the area of marketing and sales, aiming to top-level management positions. It also fosters numerous transversal skills essential in modern business: professional communication, team management, creativity, international vision, anticipation of change, and ethical, social, and environmental responsibility. The students will be enrolled in the Master in International Marketing and Sales Management and also in the Master in International Marketing in a Digital Environment.

Features • The curriculum has been defined considering business and companies’ requi-

rements. Aimed at the international markets, it combines the skills of strategic marketing with those of sales management and customer management.

• There is a wide selection of elective courses for you to choose from, ranging from the most analytical to the most executive and allowing you to adapt your curriculum to suit your preferences, from strategy to customer relations management or e-commerce.

• In the program you will have the opportunity to combine classes and intern-ships in companies.

MASTER IN AUDITING AND MANAGEMENT CONTROLOffers advanced training in two areas: accounting and auditing, and financial management of a company. Its goal is to provide the knowledge needed to generate and analyze relevant, timely and correct financial information and to verify it. The Master’s program involves two professional specialties: account auditing, which automatically qualifies the student for admission into the ROAC (Spain’s Official Registry of Account Auditors), a prerequisite to practi-cing professionally as an auditor; and management control, which prepares students to be a company’s comptroller.

MASTER IN INVESTMENT ANALYSISAND BANKING / MASTER IN WEALTH AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENTThis Master’s program includes exhaustive technical content in the three main areas of specialization in finance: investment analysis, bank management and corporate finance.

The training offered is the key to success toward obtaining the first professional certificate, the EFA (European Financial Advisor), required by many investment and banking entities and institutions.

MASTER IN MANAGEMENT OF INDUSTRIAL COMPANIES This Master’s program is addressed to technical and scientific graduates and seeks to develop the necessary skills to take responsibility in the management area, preferably in the industrial sector.

Features • It adds to the scientific and technical knowledge to design, generate and

commercialise new products and provides the necessary skills to improve products and marketing processes.

• The programme combines theoretical sessions with the preparation and discussion of case studies and team work.

• You will be able to confidently work in the functional areas of marketing, sales, finance, human resources, management control, quality and strategic management.

• You will gain the managerial knowledge that allows you to apply to executive positions.

DOCTORATE IN CORPORATE AND TERRITORIAL COMPETITIVENESS, INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITYThe IQS School of Management, the Economics and Business Department at the Universidad de Deusto (DBS Deusto) and the Economics and Business Depart-ment at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) have joined forces to offer a joint PhD program in Corporate and Territorial Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability.

This program is part of the 2015 Aristos Campus Mundus Campus of Internati-onal Excellence, an initiative that is the result of the strategic grouping of three universities with a social mission (the Universidad de Deusto, the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and the Universitat Ramon Llull) and that also stems from an advanced strategic cooperation agreement with Georgetown University, Boston College and Fordham University.

The Doctorate Program delves into the various factors that affect competitiveness in companies and territories, and aims to contribute to the economic and social development of the world we live in. Specifically, the program highlights the role of innovation as a critical factor in competitiveness, and in sustainability as an essential component to preserve in order to ensure the well-being of future generations. To this end, the program provides solid and rigorous training in research methods.

LAPTOP COMPUTER At the beginning of the first year, you will be given a laptop computer that is included in the registration fees, along with the software licences and access to e-learning tools required for each subject. All IQS facilities have WiFi Internet connection and you will be given a personal e-mail account.

PERSONALISED MENTORS These are established to assist students individually and to guide them throughout their academic, professional and personal development. The mentor is an IQS professor who is individually appointed to you for the entire period of your undergraduate program in order to help you to achieve your educational goals.

LIBRARY, DOCUMENTATION CENTRE AND STUDY ROOMS Students have access to all documents, reference manuals, books and databases belonging to the Universtat Ramon Llull. Students may also have access to study rooms.

COMPULSORY INTERNSHIPS IN COMPANIES All of the programs taught at IQS include compulsory internships in companies as part of their curriculum. These internships are particularly interesting because:

• they act as initial contact with the business world,

• they guide students according to their professional interests,

• they offer a real opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired,

• they provide job opportunities, and

• they make student’s CVs stand out from the crowd.

GRANTS AND LOANS IQS awards scholarships for academic excellence to students with a high GPA. Furthermore, graduate students can request IQS grants for the full or partial tution fees. PROFESSIONAL CAREER SERVICE The Professional Career Service advises students to prepare CV’s, to select and to apply for job opportunities, to handle job interviews and at the end to join successfully the labour market. The activities organised by the Career Service include Workshops on Professional Opportunities and the IQS Business Forum in which companies from different sectors come to recruit our students.

To be admitted to IQS undergraduate programs, you must fulfil the requirements to access any university undergraduate programs in accordance with current legislation. In addition, you must complete an Admission Exam consisting of a psychometric test and an English test.

• Complete the “Admission Application” form.

• Necessary documents:- 1 passport-size photograph.- Photocopy of your ID (or passport).- Certificate of results of the penultimate year of secondary school and partial evaluations already taken in the final year of secondary school.

- If you are not studying the Spanish Bachillerato, certificate of the studies being taken.

- Results of final year of secondary school and of university entrance exam, if available.

- A C1 (Advanced) level of English or a TOEFL score of 80 or equivalent is required for students wishing to take the Business Administration syllabus entirely in English.

• Payment of 225 € admissions processing fee.

During the undergraduate program application process, you will be assigned a specific date for taking the Admission Exam.

Your admission is decided by the Admissions Commission, based on the stud-ies you have undertaken and the results obtained, together with the results report of the Admission Exam. The IQS Secretary’s office will notify you of the Commission’s decision by letter and e-mail. If admitted, you will be informed about the registration process and how to reserve a place. If you are denied admission, you will have your admission fee refunded by IQS.

This program involves prestigious foreign universities with which IQS has established a student exchange agreement. Throughout the entire exchange request process, IQS, through its International Relations Office, supports and guides those students wishing to do part of their studies or engage in research abroad, so that their experience can be as enriching as possible. The Interna-tional Relations Office also offers assistance to all international students who wish to come to IQS.
