Study in English: Basic Information How to apply for Pharmacy studies at Charles University Applications are accepted during spring and summer by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University, Heyrovského 1203, 500 05 Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. The application will be considered only upon the receipt of completed Application Form (pdf / doc ) and the following documents: educational records regarding former education relevant to the present application two photographs (passport size) certificate of medical fitness curriculum vitae two written references (for postgraduate courses only, at least one referee should be familiar with applicant’s academic work) The documents should be presented in an authenticated English version. The application will be considered by the Faculty of Pharmacy. Tuition fees Postgraduate studies (a three-year course leading to a PhD degree) in English The course is available only to applicants with a Magister Degree or its equivalent (MSc, etc.). The tuition fee for the postgraduate (doctoral, PhD) studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy amounts to 5200 EUR per year for English- speaking students. This is a net fee which does not include the subsistence and living costs. Important note

Tuition feesPostgraduate studies (a three-year course leading to a PhD degree) in English

The course is available only to applicants with a Magister Degree or its equivalent (MSc, etc.). The tuition fee for the postgraduate (doctoral, PhD) studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy amounts  to 5200 EUR per year for  English-speaking students. This is a net fee which does not include the subsistence and  living costs.

Important note

The student should assume that during one year of study the total  expenditure excluding tuition fees will be approximately 120.000 Czech crowns (3500 EUR). This sum includes the cost of moderate accommodation, inland travel, general living expenses and books.

Accommodation at the University Halls of Residence in Hradec Králové is optional; it costs 150 EUR per bed per month. For additional 120 EUR per month a full board (3 meals a day) is provided there.

The Faculty of Pharmacy is ready to mediate some services, such as  tickets for municipal transport (about 10 EUR for a month or 20 EUR for 3 months). A limited number of textbooks will be available for studying in the Reading Room of the Library of the Faculty (opening hours: 8a.m. - 4p.m.).

The student is strongly advised to enter into a medical insurance agreement, obtained in the

Czech Republic or elsewhere, providing health insurance throughout the course of study.

Postgraduate (Doctoral) Studies A three-year course leading to a PhD degree

The graduate of the university course of studies of pharmacy (or of some related fields such as medicine or  natural sciences) that has acquired Magister (Mgr.) or Master (MS) degree or its equivalent can apply for admission to the three-year internal or five-year external course of postgraduate doctoral studies. The PhD studies involve scientific work in a selected research project under the supervision of distinguished teachers of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The postgraduate course of studies is concluded by passing examinations in theoretical topics related to the appropriate research project and by writing and defending a Doctoral Dissertation.

The Accreditation Committee of the Government of the Czech Republic approved eleven fields in which it is possible to obtain degree of Doctor (PhD) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, namely
